We stayed for one night, in a clean comfortable room, with ensuite facilities. Also included was a bottle of water each , and breakfast. The dinner was delicious, and breakfast very good, even catering for vegetarians , which my daughter is .The staff very friendly and helpful. The location was ideal, in the centre of town .we had no noise issues, but we did stay on a monday night , would reccomment this hotel for a short stay.
The shower temperature control was a bit dodgey, as the hot water was VERY hot The bathroom could maybe do with a freshen up, a bit of a refurb maybe.
friendly staff and good vibe about the hotel
Food good and restaurant and bar staff very helpful. Interesting old building.
Staff really helpful and friendly. Great room, we'd booked a family room and lovely breakfast!
The breakfast was good
The slamming of the fire door all through the night!!!! Right outside our bedroom.
The location of the pub was great. I had made some prior requests, which were done without me having to remind and was much appreciated. The breakfast was good and the staff were friendly.
The room (within the pub) was tired and shabby. The bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows were old; the stuffing had 'clumped' together and made them hard. The place needs some 'TLC'.
Food was excellent staff looked after us very well nothing was too much trouble would stay there again
Shower was a bit too powerful easy to flood the bathroom
Very staff and warm welcome. Very enjoyable breakfast.
Broken handle on bath/shower tap. Dust on the central light. Wrong shades on the central lights caused them to slip on to the bulbs and scorch.
Receptionist was very welcoming. Easy parking:- it was weekday evening. Good size room, comfortable bed. Dinner was very good - staff checked gluten free option without fuss - excellent.
Hard to shower without splashing bathroom floor.
The room was comfy and the bed was a great sleep .
wi-fi not great but usable...
Nice breakfast. Plenty of parking.
Location is good lots of nice places to eat which you will need
The customer service is lead by an obnoxious manager the mix up of the booking was dealt with by a female member of staff who promised a price due to this. On arrival I felt like an inconvience wanting to check in and my room wasn't ready as promised. On check out the price was more than promised over the phone I tried to explain but the manager would not listen I said I disagreed but would pay he continued to lecture me and never gave me my change. It was only a pound but I was already over paying and he didn't care. Not somewhere I would ever visit again.
We love the quiet of the village and the main street There are great restaurants to choose from and the wine bar is great. A really nice place to spend the weekend
Nothing!! other than we couldn't stay longer this time
Staff very helpful and friendly Rooms were full of character, suiting the period.
Breakfast was plentiful but the full English was ruined with some garlic appearing in with Bacon and Mushrooms. No feedback received from hotel.
Location, charm, parking, friendly staff.
The quality of the breakfast was poor. Both myself and my partner had could not eat the bacon because it was very fatty - the worst breakfast I have had in a hotel in the last ten years
Decent restaurant-reasonable value for money. Plenty of parking and in a good central location.
Our room was a bit "tired"-cracked washbasin, malfunctioning toilet flush etc.
Location was great. Wendover is a lovely place to stay. A very quaint town. The train station is very convenient which is a plus for day trips to London. Food at the Red Lion, including the daily breakfast, was good. There were some very nice shops on High Street and several pubs and other restaurants within walking distance.
Our room was in the front facing High Street on the 1st floor (Room 23) . We could not open a window and the room was quite stuffy and dark. Rugs needed cleaning and the bathtub needs some updating (e.g. , mold around tub and shower guard). Would recommend a change if you are assigned this room.
Bathroom was mouldy and not too clean. Unable to sleep until 1am due to pub customers not being chased out after closing.
nice comfortable room. good pub food in the evening and a nice breakfast
at £89 for a single it felt rather expensive. might be cheaper if you manage to book more in advance than I managed tho.
We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay and found the food excellent. We chose the Red Lion on the basis of a food recommendation from a friend
We booked late and there were only family rooms left. We wanted to stay three nights but settled for two as the hotel was fully booked the other night. Our room was fine but the "ensuite bathroom" was so small it was inadequate.
Excellent food, good service, nice friendly atmosphere
No fan in room
all the staff were very helpful and friendly from reception and bar to breakfast waitresses. Great food, generous portions lovely atmosphere.
only downside was the noise but this was only from chatter not music and our room was alongside the beer garden!!!
Comfortablel room, good breakfast
Quite noisy on a fortball night
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Nice atmosphere. Plentiful menu with good selection offered at breakfast. Nice layout with indoor and outdoor seating areas. Plenty of parking available.
Grubby carpet, stains on the wall, bathroom facilities basic; general décor basic and could do with updating along the landing & big mirror going downstairs could do with a clean. Lay out of breakfast facilities not very appealing/flies able to land on fresh fruit & pastries as left uncovered next to open window.
