Room clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. Town centre location. Friendly staff.
Service can be slow at breakfast.
Menu could be improved
Good Pub Food
The room we were in is due for a refurb
The chicken with the chips was small and full of bones, bigger would have been better!
Perfect location for RAF Halton Clean
Bathroom needed a bit of TLC
Looking dated, rooms need a makeover
very nice breakfast pleasant staff
Room and location good. Nice place.
We requested and paid for continental breakfast to be put in our room on the evening as we were checking out early for the airport. We never received anything or any communication regarding it. Disappointed.
Modern decor, clean rooms, friendly helpful staff. Evening Meal was lovely,
Great welcome from all staff, really good breakfast with vegetarian option equal to non-vegetarian. Very comfortable bed and pillows, cosy room. Quiet despite being on main road so we slept well. Dinner on Sunday night very tasty with good size portions and reasonable drinks. Very convenient location for RAF Halton. Lots of character.
Not knowing how to get a hot shower going in the morning, controls a bit fiddly.
Shower water tepid Noise from bar
Great traditional Inn
Breakfast staff not very welcoming
Clean comfortable room Friendly staff small, cozy atmosphere good breakfast enjoyed bar and beer garden will def return on my next trip to Bucks
rooms around courtyard format makes it a bit noisy late on. However, I have stayed in noisier places.
We stayed at the Red Lion on a recommendation of friends. Absolutely superb hotel with a very friendly atmosphere. We particularity welcomed the Jacuzzi bath after an afternoon of walking in the wonderful surrounding countryside. We stayed in room 21 which was a lovely large comfortable room, beautifully furnished. Highly recommended and will definitely return.
Location & ambiance.
Not enough staff at times. Public toilets upstairs (except disabled).
Great location, 40 minutes from Central London, Extremely friendly staff, Excellent selection of food, well served and presented and good value for money. Recommend this hotel for a base to explore the Chilterns or London
Real Ale pub, needs a national keg bitter such as John Smiths
The food was exceptional, both in the evening and at breakfast. We drank the London Pride which was superbly kept. All of the staff were courteous and very efficient. The bed was fantastic and the room full of character.
I can only echo what others have said about the noise outside the room. As it's an old coaching inn we had no wish for the windows to be double glazed (god forbid) - that is it's charm. The problem was from a few idiots shouting at each other late at night in the beer garden. Would it be feasible to either a) move people indoors at 11pm as several places in built up areas do or b) employ somebody to monitor the outside areas late at night?
Really cute pub and hotel on the high street of Wendover
Toilet was putrid with hair all over it, bed sheets had dirt on the and uncomfortable bed.
Breakfast was lovely, great selection, served by friendly old lady.
Our room was on the ground floor, approx 4 meters from the smoking area of the bar. The bar closed at midnight, the people and the noise didn't end until 12.40pm. Don't stay here if you want a good night sleep, the mattress was terribly lumpy and the tv lost digital signal every 15 minutes. At breakfast the conversation about the noise the previous night was echoed at every table. Great shame.
We stayed for one night, in a clean comfortable room, with ensuite facilities. Also included was a bottle of water each , and breakfast. The dinner was delicious, and breakfast very good, even catering for vegetarians , which my daughter is .The staff very friendly and helpful. The location was ideal, in the centre of town .we had no noise issues, but we did stay on a monday night , would reccomment this hotel for a short stay.
The shower temperature control was a bit dodgey, as the hot water was VERY hot The bathroom could maybe do with a freshen up, a bit of a refurb maybe.
friendly staff and good vibe about the hotel
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The free beer offer via the website is a very good idea. The room was clean and in good condition and the facilities were of a higher than expected standard. The breakfast was delicious.
As it happens my friend and I were on a walking holiday and after a particularly long day were exhausted and could have fallen asleep anywhere. And we did. Having said that, our room was next to the beer garden and with the bar being open quite late it meant the usual sort of drinkers noise until time was called. I would imagine that this level of noise could disrupt the sleep of those people who want an early night. Perhaps the owners could make potential residents aware of this, if their room is close to the garden.
Food good and restaurant and bar staff very helpful. Interesting old building.
Staff really helpful and friendly. Great room, we'd booked a family room and lovely breakfast!
The breakfast was good
The slamming of the fire door all through the night!!!! Right outside our bedroom.
