Dirty shower head
Room 22 needs redecoration really badly and was shabby and dingy, the skirtings were missing paint and thus hard to keep clean. We were very hot as the radiator was stuck in the on position whatever we did and 2 of the windows were stuck shut. There was a lot of noise late at nigh on 2 of our 3 nights stay.
Location, availability of food and breakfast. Staff were pleasan.t
The bathroom was very tired and needed updating.
Good cooked breakfast.
Had to let tap run for 10 minutes to get hot water
Decor of bedroom
Tiny toilet access by bath
This is not a complaint but the room we stayed in needs decorating and new curtains.
The staff, were very helpful and welcoming.
Room was not warm - it was a cold night and central heating wasn't working properly
Good location with character
I've stayed here twice now, due to its proximity to RAF Halton. It's a great little place, with comfortable clean rooms, lovely staff, and good food in the pub restaurant. Can't fault it.
Lovely bed, waaaarm room, delish breakfast, staff helped with business stuff (printing etc), v friendly, rooms very clean except for carpets (just old not dirty). So close to the station, if small bag could walk.
The rooms are noisy as they face the garden where people drink and are pretty noisy.
Totally loved their salad. It was the only vegetarian option on the menu but it was great.
would have preferred a higher class of drinks and snacks in the bedroom, things like hand cream etc in bathroom, rather disappointing for a four star hotel
the atmosphere of history, the place had a good feel about it, lovely food
Room beds moved as you sat on them, mattresses slipped of beds. Tea making facilities but kettle would not fit under basin tap. Some disgusting looking bodged filling on back of toilet bowl. Carpet badly stained in places. Unpleasant smell in room. Very noisy people upstairs jumping laughing shouting till gone 1 a.m. Previous stay room etc had been excellent. Will not stay again if we ar offered the same room as this time.
Breakfast excellent choice very helpful staff
thought we might have eaten there but so busy and a wedding as well so no room to eat
convenient free parking, rooms very warm, thought it would be noisy in a room over the bar but fine
Staff very helpful. Food excellent. Room comfortable and clean
The area the hotel was in was suitable the hotel was very pleasant the staff were helpfull
I did not like being woken up by staff slamming the entrance door to my section at about 5am and rummaging In some supply room next to my room. On checking out I told them and despite me telling them I had actually looked outside my door to see what was with all the noise they did not believe me. I would not have bothered paying such a high price for a hotel to get so little sleep. Once woken up the windows must not have been double glazed as my room was set on the main road and I could clearly hear every single car/lorry/bus that went past
The breakfast was very good and the rooms spacious
All staff were friendly and pleasant and very welcoming
Friendly staff very accomadating
Room far too hot even turned radiator off but was still on
Everything except the heat
Curtains hanging down dirty bath and floor only one seat Poor lighting and a general feeling of neglect perhaps room 18 was an exception I hope so as we will not be coming back and I really feel that we were conned
Not a lot
hard bed didnt suit us
nice hot room-good breakfast
Dirty cobwebby room, broken fittings, really grubby entrance, Significant noise outside until 1pm, unnecessarily aggressive lady manager in bar area. Etc
We stay here every year on Boxing Day, to be near my family. It is fairly basic accommodation. The bar in the hotel isn't very cosy, the seating arrangements could do with a rethink. Nice open fire, but not always lit.
Rooms are comfortable and breakfast reasonably good value and service. Good central village location.
To say I didn't like is not a true statement, but as this survey doesn't give you the choice I have to write my comments here. I know the rooms are slowly being renovated but while all rooms are not yet completed, the cost of the rooms that have not yet been done should reflect this. Otherwise I was totally delighted with the hotel!
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful at all times. As I was visiting from abroad the free WiFi was a necessity and I was delighted that the hotel provided that at no cost.
