Within easy reach of Southampton Port. Safe secure parking. We stayed on a very windy night, the sash windows rattled.

The combination of the above answers give you my rating of the Red Lion Hotel. We would not hesitate in staying there again if we were in the area, nor in recommending it to our friends.

Peaceful comfortable night's sleep in single room at back of hotel. Friendly staff . Very good breakfast, with extensive choice and once again attentive efficient staff. As expected of a coaching inn is central with easy parking in main street of old Fareham

It's location in Fareham was ideal a function that we were due to attend in the High Street. The hotel has excellent parking and the welcome was friendly. The room was clean albeit a bit dark and hot, but better hot than cold! The facilities were fine, although the free wi-fi did require regular log ins. Tried to eat in the restaurant but it was a bit busy on Saturday night, so went elswhere in the evening. Breakfast was good, so all in all I think pretty good value for money.

Staff were attentive and friendly and we enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and warm. The light on the landing outside our room no 29, was excessively bright (a 6 bulb chandelier) and not screened from our room. This was not necessary and a curtain or blind could be installed the glazed aperture to overcome the problem. We ordered the smoked salmon and prawn sandwich on grain bread and it was served on a piece of overcooked toasted bread and smothered in Mary Rose sauce - this was sent back and we were not charged for it but it was a shame as the sauce could have been served separately.
