Nice hotel in a lovely location, superb views and felt like you were in the middle of nowhere....lovely..... the lady who was working on the morning of Saturday 6th December promised to buy in vegetarian sausages for us as these are not routinely provided.....and she did.....excellent customer service, well done that lady......
More attention to detail would have made a big difference. Bathroom was quite dirty, lots of dust around the skirting boards. Overall the bathroom was tired and need a bit of TLC. (Room 4) Radiator in the room was on a setting of "volcano heat", couldn't turn it down and as such when the heating was on at 4am we were woken up.
On the whole my stay at Red Brick House was very good. Food was well presented and good to eat. The room was also very good, clean and tidy.
For me the mattress was too firm. Breakfast was served too early, an option of a little later would be better.
The Staff were very helpful. Good at catering for special diets. We really enjoyed our stay.
location near to restaurant booked no. 4 wood street staff at jotel very good when checking in and at bar and at breakfast hotel bedroom a bit in need of facelift but could see they had tried with wardrobe.bathroom updated with separate shower cubicle but had a bath then had to use desperate shower to wash hair overall a break
Stayed in annexe no. 9. Very spacious, enjoyed my stay. Food was very tasty and well presented. Great location.
Bar prices are high, especially minerals and dashes of lime. Will not use the bar on my next visit.
I booked a double room and selected the option of an extra bed in the room too. On arrival we were offered a double room with no extra bed or a twin room -2 single beds. The room was cold The bed was uncomfortable and squeaked every time I moved. The bedding was blankets which felt heavy and were not enough to keep warm (no duvets here) Before starting the 215 mile journey to the Hotel, there were reports of traffic congestion on the route. Whilst booking the room I noticed it said check in 2.30pm to 10.30pm. I called and emailed the Hotel to let them know we may be late due to traffic delays. During the phone call the Hotel initially said check in not possible after 10pm, then they rather reluctantly said someone would probably let us in if we were running a bit late but I should call en-route for confirmation (not vey reassuring), the Hotel effectively said we would be charged in full for the room even if we were delayed due to reasons beyond our control and they would not allow us to check in. Shortly after the phone conversation I received an email from the Hotel saying last check in is 10.30pm, access to the Hotel cannot be gained after this time! I emailed back to say I was worried that we may drive for about 4 1/2 hours and may not be able to check in and therefore have no room to sleep in. I received no reply to that email. I started the journey feeling anxious but fortunately the traffic had mostly cleared up. I don't know who makes the rules/manages this Hotel but in my opinion they should not be in the Hospitality business. I will not be booking a room at this Hotel in future.

I booked 30 minutes before I arrived - everything set up and ready. good breakfast. Beautiful quiet site in countryside - but convenient
Room slightly chilly as Autumn hit in October.
Room very big and airy for the price

Generally good. Beds comfortable Food---very good and prices too.
Bathrooms need some attention. No where to put toiletries ie no shelves . Also needs a little stool.( Room-4) Case had to be put on table.

Huge room, good wifi in room
Value for Money - Accommodation and Food
Country location, quiet setting and plenty of character. Comfy bed and spacious room. Good breakfast and service with a smile.
Lovely location and very peaceful
Breakfast wasn't fanstastic.
The staff were extremely friendly and the evening meal and breakfast were very good.
We were the only people staying there during the Summer holiday and on the weekend of events in Sherwood Forest which was 10 minutes away. It therefore lacked atmosphere!
Location and size of room.
Chef needs to cheer up a bit.
Spacious accommodation and great wet shower room. The dining room was large and comfortable and the people friendly.
Lovely wet shower room, but water did not run away quick enough. We didn't want to ruin the carpet so did not stay in it long.
The staff were, as expected from Nottinghamshire folk, exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast fare was plentiful, well cooked and presented. The evening menu was varied and the 6 meals partaken during our stay were superb and excellent value. The hotel is in a lovely quiet location and the accommodation is of a high standard. Highly recommended.
As is often the case in country inns and hotels the final detail is often overlooked. The room was vast yet there was: 1)no proper dressing table (just a 3 drawer cabinet with a small oval mirror), 2)no shelving in the bathroom, 3) the shower door opening was less than 12 inches wide so "the fuller person" would struggle to gain access, fortunately we are both on the slim side.
The room was very comfortable & quiet. The food was good.
I found difficulty using the room key on a couple of occasions (Room 5) - wouldn't always turn the lock. Would have appreciated a shelf or something in the bathroom instead of having to put wash bag on the floor!
The quietest place I have ever stayed at. An excellent nights sleep with no noise from other residents. Food good. Very convenient situation .
No shelf or work surface in bathroom for toiletries and personal belongings.
