Location was amazing. The place was clean and what I expected for the low cost. Great for a group of friends going out for the night.
The staff could have been a bit more cheerful, but I would definitely stay there again because it is cheap and the location is perfect.
It was nie being near the city centre. Staff very nice and helpful.
Horrible bed... I had problems with my back the following morning due to the horrible/cheap bed furnishing the room. Poorly furnished ensuite...almost inexistent sink. Old facilities. Too pricey for the poor quality of the facilities.
For a one night stay it was ok for the price.
Room overly hot on arrival necessitating in windows having to be open all night, this resulted in nighttime noise disturbance.
We were able to leave our bags before checking in, and the room was an ample size, with an extra twin bed. On a quiet street near the Pultney Bridge, Roman Baths, and church. The staff was helpful, and there is a nice lounge for reading.
This is an old hotel, and the Facilities could use some sprucing up. Fine for a night, though.
Staff (particularly Michael) very helpful. Arrived early and as my single room was not ready I got free upgrade to a double room overlooking the street, big windows so plenty of light.
The bed was very old with springs coming through the mattress. The sheets were clean but one had a hole in it. Only one thin blanket provided per bed. When asked about the bed quality the staff said there was nothing they could do.The hotel smelt of cigarette smoke. The carpet was frayed.
Everything else, the place needs refurbishment and soon
The location was not bad for people who enjoyed walking. The bus stop is 10mins walk from the redcar so pack comfortable shoes. Nice shops 2-3mins walk. Overall it is a beautiful place to visit
- The staff on our arrival were not warm. - You have to carry your bags up the narrow steep stairs. - The mattresses in our room were so worn out that you could feel the springs. - The floor boards are worn out and very noisy. - The person above us would wake us up due to the bad floor board daily at 3am. - On the 3 day of our stay we came back to find no tissue paper in our bathroom. On enquiring from the manager at the reception he told me that that was not his job! -Overall the owners need to renovate the floor boards, buy new mattresses and train their staff. - We stayed at Holiday inn in Cardiff and it was pure heaven after the Redcarr.
Close to everything. Rooms are clean, if you look.somwhere cheap to stay just sleep spot on !
When you walk in it looks like you are walking into a hospice. Hotel seem that its closing down very old and no facilities. Unfriendly staff.
For the money I guess it was a fair hotel. The location was brilliant. Good things were clean towels every day and beds made and the shower worked well. It was lovely to have tea and coffee facilities in the room given that there was no breakfast at the hotel. Staff at the desk were polite and helpful with local information. Because of its location and price, I would, probably, use the hotel again!
The room had no wifi and the furniture and carpets were shabby, with a big tear in the carpet at the doorway to the bathroom. The tv worked but the remote had its buttons so worn that we had no way of turning the subtitles on every channel, which was very irritating. We were lucky to get a parking space behind the hotel but if we hadn't we were expected to go to park and ride, and it was expensive at £10 per night.
Clean and tidy! Simple accommodation.
Beds were a little uncomfortable.
location OK relatively cheap
no lift, had to carry bags to 2nd floor no breakfast provided noisy - poor sound insulation shabby decor, basin loose on wall given wrong information about car parks (they do charge on Sundays - nearly got a ticket)
Location Parking staff friendly
Location was very good.
too many stairs and doors and no lift. Shower was only cold water. Very basic.
Terrific location, close to restaurants, easy walking to Roman Bath, Bath Abbey, etc. Room was spacious and everything was spotless. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
The mattress was terrible; it felt like only a thin pad separated us from the link- or box-spring. We did sleep at night, but only because we were very tired from walking around all day.
its location was OK
I had to sleep with the bathroom door shut as it stank after humidity, even if I slept with the (20cm x 20cm) window of the room open (note this is mid october so it was cold!). The bed was short (I'm 1.8m tall) and hard. There was no breakfast (but after seeing the hotel I would not eat there anyway).
The beds are horrible, you can feel all the springs in your back, I found it extremely uncomfortable.
hotel in general would benefit from a freshen up including room/en suites
Location and staff
Really worn out hotel. Great location but narrow stairways .we were concerned about fire as we could see no fire escapes and were on the top floor
Wi fi was available n staffs are helpful
Very small room. Bathroom was not cleaned properly.
Handy for town centre
Couldn't get a parking space. Room needed a makeover. Fair value for where it was, but it's a shame that such a lovely building is so shabby.
It was cheap
Although we had booked a parking slot we could not get in and had to leave our vehicle in a public car park a fair way away. I also had to take the cases up two floors struggling through fire doors on my own whilst my husband was with the car as it was on a yellow line. There was no hot water and one of the plug sockets was coming off the wall. Blankets not duvets.
Location was excellent
Room size and not very clean
The worst hotel bed I've ever sleep in. If you want to rest, choose another option. Staff didn't know touristic info such as knowing how to go to Stonhenge
