It was close to the centre of Bath Old and badly decorated foyer,Untidy, scruffy, dangerous flooring(uneven, cracked and broken floorboards)worn furniture, uneven springs in the bed, headboards hanging off, gap under the door a mouse or cat could run thro'..!!!!!!broken windows, also cracked.Parking badly advertised as free, and car blocked in so staff had to have your keys to move cars.!the bathroom was dirty, shower was cracked along the flooring and unsafe..the bathroom floor moved as if boards were loose..we were afraid to pee or shower ..!Left as soon as possible. WHY does Booking.com still advertise this hotel????? after a bad noisey nights sleep. horrible experience all round really.

We were stunned by the dirtiness of this hotel-the carpets on the stairs and corridors were worn loose and filthy. Our room was the worst we have ever seen -the divan bedwas broken and propped up on lumps of wood. The bas was filthy and ragged. The bathroom was worse -the toilet was crusted in brown and an old shower curtain hid a filthy bath. The so- calles car park was so bad to negotiate thatthe hotel driver had to constantly move cars around and we had to leave car keys with reception. In fact it was so bad we left after an hour.

location; helpful staff The room was in relatively poor state of decoration - torn wallpaper, water marks, cut wood coverings. Even worse was the bathroom with dripping water from the pipes with the floor being wet and lots of "gunk" in the corners. Really not particularly pleasant!

The hotel is ideally situated near to the town centre so only a short walk to bed after a night out. Hotel is tired and needs money spent on it if it wants to attract couples but for groups who require cheap accomodation it is fantastic. Parking is limited but on sat night street parking is free. The decor is old and the rooms need a good going over.

The attitude and helpfulness of the staff. Shabby throughout and dirty in places. Website very misleading. Breakfast was not available during my stay as had been indicated on the website. Bedlinen clean and towels clean or I would not have stayed. Was travelling alone and have restricted mobility and energy and could not face the trauma on my own of walking out and finding other accommodation. Don't go!!!

Location was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The walls of the room were paper thin. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The end result is that I barely slept. I could hear everything the people in the room were doing, and at 3/4am that's not amusing. The lumpy bed I could just about take, but the lack of quiet would prevent me from considering the hotel again in the future.

Good location and atmospheric building. Pleasant staff. Single room had unique decor and was mostly comfortable to spend time in. No breakfast available except apparently on Sundays! It used to be included in the room price and very good. Bathroom was very small but adequate. Bed not very comfortable.

This hotel has some bad reviews, but I have to say 10 of us turned up on 5 bikes and were treated well, parking in there small car park in a car can be hassle but the staff came out and shuffled us about to get us in, it was quite amusing, The rooms were maybe in need of a bit of updating, but for the 7 hrs we spent in the room sleeping for the price on a bank holiday with a good location for the town was fine with us, The staff were very friendly and we were well treated at the bar, thanks karol. I would be happy going back. Rooms need updating, the clenleness of the hotel wasn't great, but you get what you pay for and liveable with so long as your not a snob.

This is a unique hotel in Bath, it is so dated and the fabric of the building is so poor it is so bad that it is brilliant...stay there while you can because you dont see hotels like this very often especially in Bath, the location and the price is great. The staff do a great job in difficult circumstances. Think shabby 70's if the Redcar Hotel was a car it would be a Austin Maestro..enjoy it before it gets turned into another £200 per night boutique blah blah hotel.

The location was amazing, the staff were brilliant and the services were great. 24hr Reception and Bar at weekend was brilliant. The room was really shabby, I know for the price I wasn't expecting top notch but a good clean was all it needed really. Windowsills etc were quite dirty. Unfortunately, the bed was quite hard and uncomforrtable.

The staff on arrival to Redcar Hotel were amazing, so friendly and helpful. After reading some bad reviews we were sceptical about our stay but they could not have been more wrong! Our room was clean and quiet, our bathroom was clean and the staff were always there to help. The location of the hotel was perfect for all the sites of Bath. Other than that I will be recommending this hotel to any family and friends that are headed their way. The only thing that we would comment on is the lack of a breakfast especially if you have an early start. Other than that it was a perfect stay!

We enjoyed the redcar hotel. Its location is superb and although the decoration is largely outdated, the room was very clean and we had no complaints. Staff were friendly and if you are looking for a central bath hotel to use as a base you probab ly wo nt get much better value than the Redcar.

Location Carpets were dirty and very dated. The room was decorated like a 1970 hotel.(example the room number was written on the door in black marker.) Blind did not fit window. When blind up facing a very dirty courtyard and wall. Beds very very uncomfortable, lumpy and could feel springs sticking out. We had to pay upfront when we arrived before we even saw the room. Now I know why!! Have used bookings.com before and was really surprised that a hotel of this low standard is on the list.

The Hotel is in need of updating but would probably put it out of the price range. Did not like that my wife was not allowed into the room until I had returned after parking the car to show my credit card. The Hotel had my credit card details and it is not like we could have "done a runner without paying" seemed a very petty jobs worth sort of action.
