We were stunned by the dirtiness of this hotel-the carpets on the stairs and corridors were worn loose and filthy. Our room was the worst we have ever seen -the divan bedwas broken and propped up on lumps of wood. The bas was filthy and ragged. The bathroom was worse -the toilet was crusted in brown and an old shower curtain hid a filthy bath. The so- calles car park was so bad to negotiate thatthe hotel driver had to constantly move cars around and we had to leave car keys with reception. In fact it was so bad we left after an hour.

It was close to the centre of Bath Old and badly decorated foyer,Untidy, scruffy, dangerous flooring(uneven, cracked and broken floorboards)worn furniture, uneven springs in the bed, headboards hanging off, gap under the door a mouse or cat could run thro'..!!!!!!broken windows, also cracked.Parking badly advertised as free, and car blocked in so staff had to have your keys to move cars.!the bathroom was dirty, shower was cracked along the flooring and unsafe..the bathroom floor moved as if boards were loose..we were afraid to pee or shower ..!Left as soon as possible. WHY does Booking.com still advertise this hotel????? after a bad noisey nights sleep. horrible experience all round really.

We liked nothing about the room. It was small and dingy and noisy. In the morning when we came down a man was sleeping on the couch in the common room and it was littered with pizza boxes, bottles and trash. The outside entrance was also littered with cigarette butts and bottles and more trash. We will never use your service again for hotels. Kevin and Rebecca Swan.

Nothing this hotel and its staff, rooms and facilities was the worst room/hotel we have ever stayed in. From check in we had rude and abrupt staff who didn't bother to tell us there was a restaurant where we could have breakfast. The Room was absolutely disgusting. We had a bed with one sheet and a scratchy blanket. Purple walls. The only plug in the room was behind the tv so you could not dry your hair whilst looking at a mirror and the bathroom was a health hazard with algae growing up the inside of the tiles. I give it 0/10 and couldn't wait to leave. I would recommend you remove it from your listings. A travelodge is 5 star accommodation compared to this disgusting hotel.

Location is excellent for Bath city. Hotel reception area and public spaces are pacious and relaxed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Generally decor is tired and in poor state in some places. Eg poorly finished and untreated plaster repair on first floor stairs, mould in ensuite bathroom ( very bad!! Just bleach would have removed this!) insufficient thought to bedroom design - just looks as if items have been found and put in room rather than actualy thought about as a whole room.

The location of the hotel in relation to the city was very good The hotel bed was uncomfortable with the pillows that were supplied just as uncomfortable. The room itself had various holes in the wall and the window seemed to rattle everytime the wind blew

Only the location was favourable The Main Reception was dull and gloomy, Both my Father and my self had single rooms, the beds were far from comfortable, 1 sink plug was missing, the sink taps either did not turn on or dripped. The tv was not the easiest to use.In general the hotel is very tired and in need of redecoration and upgrading. I would not stay here again

Bath is a fascinating and charming city and this hotel provided inexpensive and convenient accommodation that was walking distance to all of the main attractions Access to the top floor rooms requires negotiating several flights of stairs

The hotel is a very easy walk to the town centre and main attractions The mattress on the bed was broken. We were given an alternative room but it was surprising that the condition of the mattress in the original room had not been noticed by housekeeping. On-site parking is available but very limited and the spaces are very tight and difficult to access.

The people at the reception were nice I was very disappointed. The room wasn't cleaned properly, there was dust everywhere. The furniture was old and in bad state. We got there late and were showed to a room where the light wasn't working so we had to wait for the guy at the reception to go get new bulbs etc. He eventually managed to make the 2 bedside lamps work but not the main ceiling light and they didn't bother to fix this the next morning either. So we stayed there 2 days with only bedside lamps for light.

Nothing...the room was like a squat! The only good thing was the location. I didn't like any of it! I was concerned to sleep in the broken bed as I was worried what I might catch from the bedding!

I had a very odd experience at the Redcar Hotel>I have stayed there on previous occasions.tThis time the reception desk was in darkness ith a person working on a computer in a darkened nearby room. The bar and restaurant were closeed and unstaffed.the heating in the bedroiom was not working.and worse,,,at 5 am I was woken by squeeking door. This squeeked unnervingly for 20 mins with no one visible. At 5 45am a shadowy figure appeared at my bedside!! I hve no experience of ghosts and regard talk of ghosts as rubbish but this was very peculiar indeed, I left glad to be out of the hotel.I will not stay there again.,

It has a good location close to the city centre and a small car park The standard of the booked room, comfort and facilites of this hotel is not what you would expect for the price. It does not represent value for money.

The only good thing about the hotel was the location. The Hotel was very old and not well maintained. The bed was really uncomfortable and very low quality. The receptionist was not very friendly nor helpful. The room was not very well isolated, as you could feel the cold coming through the frame of the window. The water from the shower was not very warm. In general, not good value for £75.

“Comfortable clean rooms, peaceful ambience, very customer focussed and competent staff. Breakfast was just as previous visitors have decribed, a good selection to please most people and on a par with upmarket hotels. Car parking although £10 a day for the service is worth it in Bath. Location for city centre walking is excellent.” Michael, Wynyard |
