shocking state of repair, felt unfriendly, dirty and smelt of smoke. couldn't wait to leave.
No parking Unfriendly staff No lift Strong smell of cigarettes throughout hotel Needs re-decorating and modernising througout hotel Horrible materess Broken fittings in bathroom Creaking floors Old bed linen
Easy to walk to the city centre, bus and train station and great to get good priced single rooms.
Would have been good to have bed and breakfast rather than room only.
Excellent location just outside of the city centre. Free parking (not at weekends). Price.
The bed springs were so prominent I woke up throughout the night in discomfort (and i'm a healthy 30 yr old). The paint was chipping and the room was in need of modernisation.
Location was ok at least for me.
Too expensive for so low quality. Facilities were horrible, like bed, shower, wc, incredibly thin walls. Didn`t like to hear that stuff were swearing. Cold.
Poor beds and mattresses peeling wall paper worn carpet cracked bath
The hotel is a bit faded but we liked that. The lounge area was quiet and showed digs of its former grandeur. There's a bar and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room was large and clean and comfortable. The shower pressure was a bit meagre. The location is excellent and there's a free car park.
The shower and all the stairs as no lift.
Very close to town centre Staff were friendly and helpful We re arranged the room to suit our needs and it was cleaned and kept as we had arranged (some would have moved it all back!)
On top floor which was like climbing a mountain! Wifi downstairs for staff, but not in rooms for guests (!?) Shower head was poor
Good location in the centre of Bath
I didn't have a great nights sleep due to a very uncomfortable bed - incredibly lumpy. The room itself was pretty depressing and needed a major refit. TV was about 15 years old!!
The location was good and reception staff friendly and helpfull.
The whole place could do with a make over. It looked dirty and unloved.
I loved how close it is located to the centre of Bath; the fact it had a car park and it had family rooms to sleep a group of 3.
The beds were lumpy. The bathroom was clean but very shabby. The ceiling was peeling and looked like there had been a lot of leaks. You could hear every move the guests upstairs made, very loudly. The whole place needs some TLC.
near city centre
Poky room , one foot square window looking mout onto a building. Two small roof light windows, just room to walk round the bed, peeling marked wallpaper. More of a hostel than hotel. No food provision.
Perfectly located, only minutes from the city center.
The reception staff was on the edge of not being friendly.
Location close to the center of Bath; free WiFi in the lobby
Poor service quality, e.g. parking space cannot be secured in advance (but one good thing: as of 7pm until 8am the next morning, parking is also free in the streets around the Hotel), no breakfast offer, staff did not know where the next letter box was (which in fact was then only 100m away), WiFi did not work in my room
No lift, no offer of help with bags, no parking, no please or thank you, no extra pillows, 3 flights of stairs with luggage, smelled of cigarettes, springs poking through mattresses, dirty decor, worn and dirty carpets.....will not be returning
Proximity to the main city center, all main attractions of Bath, daily cleaning and hoovering of carpets, change of towels.
The place needs to be renovated, the carpets are old, needs to be either changed or shampooed, wall paper peeling off, electrical sockets not working. But for the money you pay, it is not a bad hotel.
location is perfect, staff very nice, room was clean
mattress pretty bad, noise in the morning for the business at the back, dated decor
cheap lil hotel, don't expect much but the location is excellent, just a 2 min walk from the high street and attractions. staff nice and helpful.
hotel does not provide parking which is annoying, and for the price of rooms, can't complain about the quality of services.
Location was great, just a short walk to town but on a quiet street. Short enough walk to train station
Rooms weren't comfortable, didn't have a "warm" feeling (no pictures on wall or nice side tables) Needs to be updated. Tea and coffee splattered on wall under tea station.
I got what I expected from somewhere in Bath city centre which was available at a week's notice in August, and which was cheap. I wanted a roof over my head for a night, and the Hotel provided a clean bed at a reasonable price.
The bed was really hard and a bit lumpy. The shower had next to no pressure.
Large room with a fireplace. Old world flavor. Quiet. Clean. Large bathroom. Easy walk to the city.
Bed very lumpy, old, old mattress. No option for breakfast. A bit shabby.
-only a short walk to the city -room was spotless, clean and tidy -crisp clean bedding and towels
-Unwelcoming, unfriendly staff upon arrival. -Bed room curtain hanging on a thread, literally! -Dangerous electricity sockets. -Light fittings above the beds both hanging off. -Shower curtain pool hanging off wall. -Ceiling of bath room very low, had to stoop right down to shower. -Light above mirror in bathroom not working and cord trapped inside. -The whole toilet unit was not attached to the floor, it tilted over taking the whole floor tile with it! -Sash-window was very hard to open. -There was an option to reserve a parking space in advance, which we applied for. We received an email saying they would deal with our request. When we arrived, the man on reception abruptly told us you cannot reserve a parking space it is first come first served. Part of the reason we chose this hotel was because it had the option of reserving a parking space.
