The history of the main building was really interesting, it is approx 500 years old with exposed beams and plenty of character. The gardens were very nice with planty of seating to enjoy a drink. The hotel is situated in lovely countryside. Our rooms were adjacent to the main buliding and may have originally been the stables. They were very pleasant with fresh fruit, water and the usual tea and coffee facilities available. Disabled parking was immediately outside of the room. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. The staff were friendly and overall it was good value for money.

An English farmhouse hotel as nice as it gets. Very nice, clean and comfortable rooms. Fast and functional Internet and an extremely personal attention from the staff. Highly recommended, business or holiday. You really need a gps to find it.

all the staff were welcoming and quickly understood our situation, having travelled over night from France to attend a wedding that day they welcomed us in to the Hotel early in the morning, gave us refreshments and made sure our room was ready pronto, so we could dress in comfort and all this with no fuss making us feel wanted and comfortable. I know we wouldn't have got this attention in a big multi chain hotel! many thanks Redcoats!

Redcoats is a homely hotel in the heart of beautiful Hertfordshire countryside. The food is excellent and the gardens and the rural walks right from the door unbeatable when it stopped raining! The bedroom we had was very comfortable. Our family party of 12 was very patiently and efficienly looked after for a beautiful Sunday lunch. We were not hurried and had a lovely day. We had an issues with the performance of our shower but this will be rectified when the refurb is completed. We were given a discount for this.
