the staff were extremely helpful, especially at breakfast , nothing was to much trouble and the quality of the food was above that of a 2 star hotel i could hear someone snoring in an adjacent room !!, wasnt too bad though, a bit more sound proofing may help |

The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, and the rooms very clean and comfortable. They accommodated one of our party of four (with his wife) in a ground floor room as he is disabled, and needs easy access using a stick. Breakfast was freshly cooked and well presented, as was the mid-day carvery, and evening meal. We felt the two star rating did not adequately represent the high standard of service and comfort, and were told this was because the hotel did not have a reception desk, but with the bar area staffed continuously, this was not a problem for guests. We have no criticism of any aspect of the hotel, and would happily book to stay there again. |

Staff were very friendly and the meal we had was very nice.Room and en suite very clean. We were on the ground floor at the back of the hotel and were woken up quite early the following morning by I presume a member of staff put out the empty barrels which were under our bedroom window. It didn't bother us as we are licensees ourselves but other might not like it. |

Rooms looked newly refurbished, very clean & very comfortable. Breakfast was really good too - fresh fruit, assort cereal & full breakfast (vegetarian too). Staff were cheerful & helpful. It is a fair way out of the city centre - but you would be paying much more for the same hotel in the centre. If not driving, public transport is very easy with the main bus route & train station within 100 yards. |

I stayed at this hotel as it was in a good location for visiting family, also v easy to hop on the bus into Exeter city centre I found the hotel quite noisy - a party on the first night with music until late & also able to hear guests in other rooms quite easily |

Rooms very clean and comfortable and good freshly cooked breakfast. Easy access to town centre (main road was closed during our stay which did result in a small detour). Good parking. |

The bathroom was dilapidated, mould on the ceiling, the bath surface was gouged and pitted, the shower mat was unclean. No complimentary toiletries apart from small soap bar were provided. |
