The landlord was very pleasant, also most of the staff. The food was ok, but nothing special. The pub was very oldy worldy, and set in a lovely little village surrounded by thatched cottages. Well the room was very small, the tap was dripping constantley, it was very draughty in the room, the bed was terrable! There were no extra blankets and this week end was very cold, the heaters in the room were full on but it was still cold. We were there for a weekend stay, the room was not cleaned while we were there neither were the tea and coffee topped up! The menus were very bland and basic and a bit pricey. To some the pub up it was very tied and need a revamp!

The fact that the rooms are removed from the main bar area. The village location is superb. The Inn itself is very attractive. Definitely value-for-money My room was fine but my two friends had issues with their rooms. Leaking taps, rusty and unpleasant-looking radiators and one had a loose toilet seat, that he was not responsible for. My other friend was showering when the shower-head rose came off in his hand, and he had to force it back into place to continue his shower.

The comfortable beds, the food and the hospitality. The shower was good and was easily operated, even without wearing my spectacles. The ensuite was a bit small and the door didn't close. Also not enough hooks or rails to hang your towels and clothes on in the shower room. Perhaps a couple of hooks on the back of the door would help when two people are sharing the room and a towel rail instead of the radiator. The toilet was a bit idiosyncratic as the handle seemed to be going the wrong way, but we managed to flush it in the end without skinning our knuckles.

The Red Lion is in a marvellous location and on the day we visited, there were several activities in the village. Chipping Campden is close to many interesting places and the Red Lion would be a good place to stay for touring the area. Lunch and breakfast were good, although we chose another nearby hotel for dinner, simply because we wanted to have a short walk but the dinner menu at the Red Lion looked good. The accommodation had its own front door and key and therefore there was no need to go through the pub.

Wonderful and helpful staff. The location was great and it was a lovely place to stay. The room got very cold at night so we had to turn the radiators up/on.

Very nice country pub with rooms in a separate very old cottage. Great location in the heart of the village, very full English breakfast, local beers, nice menu, and quite rooms with no disturbance from the pub

We made a last minute booking and chose this hotel because there was nothing else available in the area with an ensuite bathroom. The bar and restaurant area was cozy, food was good value for money and the staff were very keen to make our stay enjoyable. Location great for cycling.

A convenient location. On arrival we were told there were on pillow cases on the pillows but they arrived during the evening before we went to bed. For the TV, Freeview Box, lamp and Kettle, that's four appliances there were only two sockets!! There was no curtain or blind in the plain glass ensuite window which was overlooked. The toilet was difficult/impossible to flush. The light attached to the shaving socket didn't work.

Staff were friendly We planned a weekend away to look around the surrounding area. Un fortunatly I was called back home on the Sunday afternoon, this turned out to be an advantage because the room had not been serviced, bed not made, no further milk left out and carpet not cleaned. The room was very noisy not only from traffic but also the room above we were kept awake with the creaking floor and their conversation. Although wifi was advertised this did not work in our room.

I enjoyed my "attic" room. It had all that I needed including a coffee/tea making facility. I did not mind the stairs. It was very quiet in-spite of being on the road corner.I Would recommend it.Being a widow it would be nice not to have to pay for a double room. There was no room for my car in the car park when I returned at 10.00 P.M. but I was lucky to find a very close-by space in the main street. This might not be so easy in the week-day. It would be good to know that one could have a parking slot. The breakfast was full English and excellent! The location was good for all the beautiful sights the cotswolds has to offer We were double booked when we arrived, situation was sorted quickly as the other couple were moved to another hotel down the road. Unfortunately for us tea facilities had been used but not replaced . bathroom was large but dated and dirty, the carpet round the bath is black with stains. Felt let down with the staff attitude, everything seemed to be too much trouble. We always use booking.com, this is the first time we have felt we wasted our money. Cheap tacky furniture, dirty bathroom and carpets, below average menu on offer.
