+Perfect location, close to the city. +Lovely view over parker's piece. +Comfy bed. -Did not see a single member of staff during my stay. My key was left on a table for me to pick up and leave there when I left. Very weird! -The front door required I code entry which should have been emailed to me but wasn'T. Hassle! -Sink in room was blocked - no staff anywhere to report this to.

We were on the top floor so had a magnificent view of parkers. When I couldn't get through the front door the lady on the phone was very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice for the price. They had recently changed the code for the front door and hadn't updated this in the informatiom booklet so we had to ring (just as well some one answered!) but they were apologetic and it was a genuine mistake. The blinds in our room were incredibly dusty, like thick with dust, and the duvet cover was very old and not very warm. We took the sheet off, and it was stained all over and very flimsy. Although this didn't bother me too much, yes it could have been slightly cleaner, but the room we had for £80 in my opinion was a bargain for such a beautiful central location

Convenient location. Comfortable bed. Draft from old broken window frame. Room furnishings tired and dilapidated. Staff not present. Couldn't get help on basics. No-one available at checkout. When I finally reached the staff or owners by telephone, I was told that they couldn't answer my call earlier because they were picking up their children. I don't believe that is acceptable for a hotel costing 120 pounds per night.

Clean environment. Nicely provided for so felt fresh and comfy. Staff very helpful and polite, thank you. Shared loo next to bedrooms could have done with more insulation..not a brilliant way to wake up! Paint pealing, shelf in dining room had fallen off and corner pipe mouldy. Also door locked on arrival with no details of door code on my email, had no access to a printer when booking. No idea there would literally be nowhere to park..info in the form of a map of the nearest car park and charges would have helped on the email I did get. The managers I rang hadn't received the booking details either so a muddle on arrival which was very stressful and inconveniant, but admirably dealt with by the lady I rang, thank you.

Pretty much everything; it's been ideal for our occasional overnight stays in Cambridge. I only have two complaints and they are minor. The first is that you could hear people moving about in the next room late at night because of the quite creaky floorboards, (my wife was woken up twice by this), and the second is that the extractor fan in the bathroom was rather loud.

The hotel has a great central location and it is very easily accessible, only a 10 min. walk from the Cambridge train station or 5 min walk from the airport bus station. The rooms are cosy and clean in general. We stayed one time at the top floor in a room overlooking the park Parker's Piece and one time on the first floor facing the courtyard, both with own bathroom in the room. The beds were very comfortable too. We loved waking up to the very appetizing smell of fresh croissants and other baked goods offered for breakfast but we forgot the second time that the breakfast ends at 9:00, a bit too early for us. The shades/blinds could be dusted more often, sensitive issue especially for people with allergies!

No parking was a problem, plus I still find it a bit weird to check in and stay over at a place and never see any member of staff until breakfast.

Nothing, only the location was handy to the shops. everything ! Noisy pub behind the building, self check in, no one there to help get bags up the tiny 3 flights of stairs, the owner is never there, she has no idea what is happening at her own property. One bathroom on the first floor which was always busy. Dodgy door handles, no maintenance on this property. I got stuck my bedroom on the top floor, door handle fell off and it looked like it had been loose for a long time. I could not make calls from my mobile but was lucky there was a mobile emergency free call line. I had to phone the police to get me out !! The police called the owner and she was annoyed she was woken. I left 8.30 the next morning, I still had not seen her, then she was rude enough to send me an email telling me I should of told her about her own loose door knobs !! The toilet handle was getting loose to. The lady here doesn't care about her guests, just wants the money. Six people could stay in one room and she wouldn't have a clue.

Central location, rooms clean and tidy, fresh croissants with breakfast. Issues with food hygiene (sour milk, mouldy jam left on the table all day), poor sound proofing between rooms, stairwell and towards Parker's Piece.

Regency House really exceeded my expectations. The staff (sisters I believe) were fabulous. Very friendly, outgoing and helpful. My room was very clean, modern, had coffee/tea making facilities and a sink. Bed was very comfortable, clean and I had a great night sleep. The pillows were feather pillows which I found very luxurious to uk standards in general. The building was a Victorian 4 storey house and of course with this comes slightly smaller rooms and old quirky room layouts. But I think they had really made the best of everything. The place only has 9 rooms, so its good size, and most of the rooms (like mine) were overlooking a big park. The bathrooms (I was using shared bathrooms which did not bother me at all) were recently renovated and very clean and modern. There is a pub next door, and lots of restaurants/eateries on the same street, but I could not hear any noise from outside during the night. I was very pleased as I'm 6 months pregnant and really need my sleep. I read some reviews before booking and I must say some of the negative comments about the rooms were really not as bad as they made it seem, e.g wall sockets in weird places and bad decor. I am not British but have lived here for over a decade and I can honestly say to all the foreign travellers out there that this is about as good a as it gets for this price margin in the UK. Very good value for money. Also, everyone who stayed at the Regency House (that I met at breakfast) was a really decent person, from all age groups, and we had a very nice light conversation. Not too old, not too young, and not too stuffy! Great stay! Would, and will stay again! Honestly, I don't really have a bad word to say about Regency House, but if I had to point out something for future guests, it would be that if you are a light sleeper you might be bothered by the sounds of doors opening and closing at night (E.G. people going to bathroom or coming in late). I am currently 6 months pregnant and this makes me a light sleeper but the sounds did not bother me as such, but I could still hear them.

I wasn't sure about the idea of no one being on reception, but actually it worked out fine. I called ahead and the staff were very helpful and let me check in early at no extra charge. Breakfast was also very good. The TV only seemed to get one channel. Also, the light above the bed did not work.
