We liked our stay at the Hotel because the rooms were clean and fresh and the food was excellent. We weren't happy that it was advertised (and we paid extra) for a swimming pool. The swimmimg pool was like a paddling pool and was locked Up. One of the reason for staying/booking this hotel was for the use of the pool!

We loved the location, staff, excellent food and the fact that you could have your brerakfast up to 12pm. Our double room was great and nothing was too much trouble, the whole place had a lovely laid back atmosphere.

Great hotel, just across road from Windermere lake and very close to the ferry - a great location 10 minute walk to Ambleside and 30 mins on the ferry to Bowness. The hotel is on the roadside so some traffic noise unless you stay in the garden rooms ( these are great - with excellent decor and fittings)

Toured the lake district, also took boat trip on the lake from the pier almost on the hotel's doorstep. One meal at the hotel (very good) and one booked in advance elsewhere as recommended by trip advisor/restaurant critique guides Room was quite small and very hot but that is a very minor niggle

My husband and myself both really enjoyed our stay at the Regent By The Lake the location was excellent as were the meals. We had a garden room which was very tasteful and modern. The standard of cleanliness was very high and the staff were extremely helpful and very pleasant. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and would book this hotel again as and when we return to the Lake District. I liked everything about this hotel.

Most staff were very friendly and attentive to detail - in particular the waitressing staff. Quality of food was very good both for breakfast and dinner. Prices for the dinner menu compared favourably with other establishments. The location for the lakeside was very good. Our room had a constant supply of ants in the bathroom and the Cleaning staff had not removed cobwebs from the ceiling and edges of curtains for some time. We had a room in the block that resembled a challey set up. The walls were paper thin and we could here the drunken couple next door arguing fairly clearly. The quality of the room was undermined by this. On one evening we had booked an evening meal and went down to the bar early for a drink. The member of staff there seemed overly keen to get us into the restaurant early and was not that keen when we told him we'd booked a time. The customer service skills needed work. Interestingly we were not asked on check out if we had enjoyed our stay by the receptionist.

The service, the restaurant, and arelly pleasant room Only a very minor niggle, the photo on the web implied the hotel was on the water,, in reality, there was a road and other buildings in between.

Very clean and friendly and efficient staff. Wall paper starting to come away from wall, or not put on well in the first place. Water from the shower only luke warm at night, although nice and hot in the morning.

A welcoming atmosphere with friendly efficient and obliging staff. Interesting and tasteful decor in the Hotel, with it's layout well organised. I liked it's location, almost on Lake Windermere, with plenty of Parking right beside it,just off the main road to Ambleside which was a 5mins: walk away.

A relaxed atmosphere and excellent staff. The food was also of a high standard and we were in a good position to explore the Lakes for our first visit to the area.

Location is good and the hotel is very nice and well presented. The court yard rooms are brilliant for dog owners. The breakfast service was poor; as we walked in the waitress saw us but no sign of acknowledgement. We wondered into the breakfast area and I had to ask if we just sit ourselves. This was responded to by 'yes anywhere thats set' without her hardly looking up. We found ourselves a table and then after 5 minutes I headed to get my own coffee- which I was then told she would be bringing it herself. With the other juices and cereals being self-serve I presumed the coffee was too. There seemed to be some regulars in the hotel, however we had never stayed and was unaware of the breakfast process and left feeling rather isolated. I work in a hotel myself and believe that guests should be greeted on entry, made to feel welcome, have the service process explained to them and not made to feel lost. The food was very nice and the reception and bar staff very helpful. It was just the breakfast waitress who let you down. Definate re-training needed

First went to the Regent 23years ago and kept meaning to go back for then it made such an impression on me but life being at it is. But on this visit well!!!! It was familiar but with lovely! Changes too, and the rooms added on to the rear of the hotel well ! ! just ideal/great, lovely to walk up to, and being in them was really nice and with the little decking area's out side the rooms gives you that little private area (when weather permitting) thou your still very much part of the hotel. Whoever thought of having the rooms there great!!!!!!!! The service The Regent offers you, the breakfast timing's is great , the food great, the friendliness the whole ambience is marvellious, and that was even 3 days of rain off and on, yet being at The Regent the weather didn't really matter, it's location is great too. Going back after so long away isn't always good but our return visit was even better than we had hoped for. Thank you all so much, and we have already booked another visit

The hotel was nicely decorated, the rooms were of good size and provided spa baths which were great. However, the best part of the hotel were the breakfasts and evening meals which were of high quality and served well. It was nice to be able to sit in the lounge to order and then walk through to the dining area when your meal was ready. There was a small issue with breakfast one day not being correct due to a below par waiter.

We loved the modern decor, bathroom fittings, location, views and friendly staff. The hotel was very good value for money, we have stayed in lesser quality hotels in the Lakes for more money where the food was no where near as good as The Regent, looking forward to a return visit. The atmosphere in the bar was a bit "staid" although very nicely decorated and at times a bit chilly, we prefer something more cosy, so we crossed the road to the Wateredge that had real fires

The staff were absolutely excellent - so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It's so nice to have your needs anticipated these days as well, doesn't often happen any more. The quality of the breakfast was superb, can't really think of anything that you couldn't get if you wanted it and it was really well presented. The bar prices were reasonable we thought and everything was very relaxed and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

The locality. The swimming pool was a big hit with my daughter. The facilities. The layout of the hotel. The staff took time out to ask my 6 year old if she would like some bread to take to the ducks - what a wonderful, thoughtful touch!

The staff were extremely polite and genuinely seemed happy in their work. We were made to feel very welcome and will definitely stay at this hotel again, it was a lovely relaxing experience. The option to take breakfast late was also a bonus! The room was a bit small, but this was probably one of the few as it was a fairly late booking. Next time we will upgrade to a garden room. Our friends stayed in one of these and they are very big (the rooms, not our friends).

This was our second stay at the Regent, the staff were as welcoming as on our first visit. The food was lovely again although I would like to see more seafood on the menu. Our room this time was in the main building and the shower above the bath wasn't as good as the walk in shower in the new rooms.
