Most staff were very friendly and attentive to detail - in particular the waitressing staff. Quality of food was very good both for breakfast and dinner. Prices for the dinner menu compared favourably with other establishments. The location for the lakeside was very good. Our room had a constant supply of ants in the bathroom and the Cleaning staff had not removed cobwebs from the ceiling and edges of curtains for some time. We had a room in the block that resembled a challey set up. The walls were paper thin and we could here the drunken couple next door arguing fairly clearly. The quality of the room was undermined by this. On one evening we had booked an evening meal and went down to the bar early for a drink. The member of staff there seemed overly keen to get us into the restaurant early and was not that keen when we told him we'd booked a time. The customer service skills needed work. Interestingly we were not asked on check out if we had enjoyed our stay by the receptionist.

The location of the Hotel was very picturesque. The bedroom was lovely with the added surprise of another room with bunk beds with a view of the lake. It was exceptionally clean and the towels in the bathroom were nice and fluffy. Breakfast was really nice and the waitress who had only been there two months was very attentive. All in all a lovely hotel and I could highly recommend it.

Staff very friendly. Public areas have the wow factor. always enjoy the Regent, however we did notice a dip in housekeeping standards in comparison to other stays (this was our 4th stay in the Regent). Garden Room 40, chipped cup and saucer, (did ask housekeeping for cup and saucer to be replaced which was done immediately) built up dirt around bathroom taps, plug hole very dirty, overflow grimy, stain on window blinds, sorry to report this but it was such a shock after our other stays at the Regent we always commented about the high standard of cleanliness in the Regent.

The hotel was incredibly quiet considering it's located so close to Ambleside. We stayed in a garden room which wasa lovely size and perfect if you want something a little bit special. The breakfast selection and service was excellent.

the location was nice the rooms were very nice staff friendly and helpful very warm and welcoming was able to relax as soon as we went in to the reception though we were there over night couldn't really fault it Sadly if any thing the breakfast in the morning seemed a bit rushed ie the staff were on top as soon as you were finished and the foreign girls spoke a bit fast to understand them we noticed this as they attended other tables and were asked to repeat themselves not that this would deter us from going there again lovely place

The location was great, only a stones throw from Lake Windemere. The staff were all very friendly and always helpful and the breakfast offers a great deal to choose from. Our was on the top floor and was very comfortable and nicely decorated. My only issue would be no lift to the 2nd floor which didnt really bother me or my partner but it is something to be aware of when staying. The cost seemed a little high when compared to the facilities but I have to say that this seemed indicative of the whole Lake District and not just this hotel.

It is always a pleasure to return to the Regent. Each visit leaves you with a feeling that the experiennce cannot be improved upon. What a delight to sample the food. The breakfast is superb, so far away from the supermarket processed foods. A memorable experience

Very friendly staff, nice bar and restaurant, and only a short walk into Ambleside town centre. Only a small hotel, so you feel that you get a more personal service. Would definitely come back.

My husband and I loved the setting of the hotel as it is only a stones throw from Lake Windermere and a short walk into Ambleside. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were absolutely lovely and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Better still, breakfast is served until 12 noon, so you can enjoy a lie-in and still have a delicious cooked meal! This also includes a vegetarian option which was smashing. We would certainly stay at The Regent again. Really cant think of anything negative to say to!
