Staff rude and unfriendly, atmosphere horrible. So so so noisy. Luckily as was a weekday it finished at 12. Area is depressing.

Location, Ive stayed here alot of times before, location is the best thing about this place.

When I arrived to the bar, said I had a reservation, and Booking.com had not informed REM hotel about my reservation, not the hotels fault...but someones! The man behind bar gave me room almost as a good will gesture!!! Even though I had a reservation and had been paid for his response "*sigh*, i guess you can have room 3" charming!

Poor beds squeeky, unclean basin in room and toilet and shower facilities very poor unclean and more suited to a camp site.

This place is right in the heart of the gay scene and downtown. It's gay and got a dirty/sexy kind of vibe to it. The rooms are private and comfortable. No one will bother you. There's only about 6 rooms anyways, so it's fairly private. However, on weekends the guests will cruise each other in the hallway, leave their door open, the shower door open, etc. It's all what you make of it. I'm used to that scene and my partner was not. He freaked out a little bit but got used to it. If you like the any-gay-Eagle / Folsom-like scene, then you'll enjoy it. The downstairs bar has a similar vibe which I really liked. The drinks are affordable. Get Cider-Black if you've never had one. It's delicious! Ours came with an English style breakfast. I don't prefer that type of breakfast but aside from my personal preference, it was good quality food and my dude enjoyed it so I believe it to be good. They have the standards too like cereal, toast and coffee if you don't like what else they're serving. It's free so can't complain. :) The wi-fi was also pretty good for the most part which was important for me traveling.

On Friday and Saturday it is very loud because on the second floor they have a drag show / karaoke show. It's a little bit of a twinkier scene there whereas the bottom floor is the more bear-like crowd. The rooms are on the third floor so you'll be right above the disco music. If you plan on being out all night on Friday & Saturday then you'll be fine. It quiets down around 2am so it's not too bad. The other thing I didn't like was that although there's a shower in some or all the rooms, there is no toilet. You have to go to one of the two shared shower rooms instead that have toilets. Although I prefer a private toilet, the good of it was that there were more chances for you to see a couple guys hanging out in the hallway in their towels - kinda fun. The bad thing about the shower in your room isn't too bad but ours used a very loud water pump and the entire casing is made of a clear plastic so you can watch each other shower. Now this could be a good thing if you're into that, just depends on who you are traveling with. It's also convenient in case you're having company over and need to clean up the mess. :) But, if you prefer more privacy then you'll have to use the shared shower. Also, the TV was extremely small and on the side of the room instead of directly at a front angle from the bed. Not that you should be watching much tv while you're traveling but this might be inconvenient for you.

my bed was not change during my whole stay. and I did not get fresh towels either. the hotel is very noisy.

located close to picadilly station and to market street (shopping). the guy who served us breakfast was very friendly giving us very good tips of where to go and what was going on in manchester.

Excellent location if you're going clubbing around Canal Street, good room, good breakfast. Perhaps the Bookings.com website should warn you that not suitable on Friday nights if you're not going clubbing - the rooms are directly above a cabaret show.

The cheapness and location to everything we needed was good.

The room was slightly smaller than expected but not bad, the only thing is it had a slight smell to the room, like damp but different. The nearest car park to stay over night was £18. That was a huge shock.

The location is second to none, however the actual hotel is in need of some TLC it's very threadbare to say the least .

Convienient to city centre. Good plentiful breakfast. Despite arriving at 10am we were allowed access to our room.

Room description is misleading. We had a superior room but had only a wash basin and no shower. Public areas were dirty, including the shared shower room. As male and female couple we were refused entry to the bar. We were told it was for a private party. In truth we could see three men in the bar through the window and we were excluded as we were not a gay couple. Sexual discrimination, something gay people have been fighting for years!

Anything else… It was a horrible experience. There is NO toilet in our room. It is not possible to take shower, too. Noisy enough to keep you awake all night. No good at all
