Score from 1721 reviews Good
On Weymouth's seafront, this lovely family-run hotel has stunning sea views, a welcoming and homey atmosphere, excellent home-cooked food and cheap bar prices.

A short walk from the town bridge over the historic Weymouth Harbour, this traditional hotel provides comfortable accommodations, a restaurant and bar, and easy access to the beach, a 10-minute walk...
Score from 924 reviews Very good
Situated on Weymouth’s Esplanade, the family-run Hotel Rex is in an enviable position by the beach. The Channel Islands ferry terminal and the Pavilion Theatre are both only 2 minutes’ walk away.

Friendly and helpful staff
facilities, food, cleanliness of room, staff helpfull
Being an old hotel, a little shabby in places
Breakfast is good, plenty of choice and quality. Staff were polite and efficient.
Very tired ( and cheap) furniture in bedroom. This would be acceptable ( and expected) in a two star Hotel but not in a Best Western three star. Room needs investment.
Cheerful, friendly, competent staff. (reception, dining room, housekeeping, bar etc) Fabulous food. Cleanliness. Facilities, eg swimming pool. Plenty of Parking. Close to promenade.
A very minor irritation, but perhaps if bedroom doors were more quietly closing?
Superior bedroom was very good. Bathroom just a bit small. Breakfast was excellent, as was the evening Carvery.
25min brisk walk to harbour. Bar glasses were very basic
Location pool staff clean hotel
Bit noisy after 6 am but room was a bove laundry room so staff coming and going was unfortunately as is , also restaurant very warm perhaps as so many older people guest s had to leave as uncomfortable
Location Restaurant Bar Staff
Room small and stuffy. No view on which to open the window.
Adult had to be in the pool with children. Couldn't sit on side and supervise had to be in pool
Christine/a welcoming , professional Breakfast
Staff were very friendly
The hotel was well presented and the staff were very friendly. Nice size room that was excellently furnished and very clean.
The breakfast in the morning was not very good some food was overcooked and rubbery the scrambled eggs were tasteless and watery. The only edible part was the toast and croissants.
The room was smelly, so we had to leave our windows open over the night. We decided to not risk one more unslept night and left a day earlier. The staff was useless when asking for any information about the area and what we can do. It wasnt a cheap room and could have had a much better service and room at a B&B if booked earlier.
The beds need an upgrade. Take a leaf from Premier Inn, a good nights sleep Guaranteed.
Staff are very helpful & friendly.
During our stay the room was very hot we are not able to have good sleep & it's very noisy outside.
Breakfast good Location very handy for walking into the town Staff generally courteous Seemed to have plenty to offer
Room too small Bed too small Compared to other hotels, even 'budget' hotels £142.50 for the room we had was just wrong!
Had I have known what I was about to experience and that I had pre paid I would not have stayed at this Hotel to pay £98 for a single room and £128 for a double it was awful I will have certain reservations in booking with you ever again.
Friendly and very helpful staff. Delicious food! Excellent facilities Comfortable beds
The size & comfort of the bedroom accommodation is perfect. The friendly, professional staff make this hotel the success that it is. Food also top quality. Well done.
Leisure club changing rooms - speak for fhemselves!
The staff were always extremely friendly and helpful and the room, although a little tired decor wise, was exceptionally clean. The facilities were also well looked after. I had a swim every day and also booked a spa therapy which was very relaxing.
The most disappointing thing for us was being told on arrival that we weren't entitled to the benefits of our Best Western Loyalty Card as we had booked through a price comparison site. We had booked to stay a whole week in July and Best Western sent through a Loyalty Card well in advance of our stay. However, at reception we were told the 'free' cold bottles of water in reception were not for us and we would not be getting loyalty points. Bit of a downer on Day 1!
good location, staff very helpful room clean and comfertable
location as it was close to the sea front
bath appeared to have a crack
The pool and leisure facilities.
My adult son was given a room above the wedding party disco which went on until 12.30am. He was then woken up by the generator for the kitchen very early morning. The room my husband and I had was at the front and noisy from traffic.
beautiful hotel, clean room, delicious breakfast and great pool. Will definitely come back if in Weymouth again.
Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable and clean room and bar
