Location, atmosphere, food, staff, size of hotel and rooms and comfort and great history.
The service was amazing, even during a short power cut. Staff quickly accomodated us with wine, cold refreshments and various snacks.
Architecture, staff, location.
Occasional lack of organisation, prices!
Fantastic location for Eurostar. A luxurious way to start your trip to Europe Beautiful decor Comfortable room Helpful staff
Only fancy teas in the room and Earl Grey at breakfast. Some regular tea please.
Excellent Hotel with terrific service. The staff were so friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you. The restaurants in the hotel were also superb.
What a great hotel so sophisticated and friendly and that's hard to do ! But this hotel has nailed it :-)
The fact that you felt like you were away from everything go on outside the hotel. We could quite happily have spent all our time in the hotel.
We could only stay for one night
Staff was very helpful Dining is very good
The relaxed atmosphere in the hotel. The lovely aroma as you walked through the entrance. The helpful staff. The quiet bedroom, allowing my daughter and I to get two great nights sleep. My favourite place was the cocktail bar especially this time of year.
Beautiful building, excellent service, great experience.
The romance of a station venue and the beauty of the building
The appearance of the public areas - foyer and bar et
Really disappointed by the quality of the appalling toiletries. Shampoo half used! Only 2 teabags. Very mean for hotel of this calibre. Just shows not all it's trying to be when peak behind the scenes. Shame on you.
the rooms are spacious and beds really comfortable. The spa is fabulous, afternoon tea yummy and the outside terrace really relaxing.
A very impressive building, architecturally. Five tube lines nearby.
The way your concierge worked really hard to try and get us an almost impossible booking for a show (he was Italian, I think from Rome).
The sometimes chaotic performance at breakfast (when ordering cooked food), based on who was on duty. Over three days, this started as terrible, then moved up to excellent and ended with OK.
Location was good - easy to get anywhere.
It's an enormous hotel and very impersonal. For such a large establishment, there was no where to have a drink after 10:30PM. The old building itself is fabulous, but the halls and rooms have no personality. Perfectly comfortable - probably better place for the business traveler. Very expensive for what you got.
Excellent location for all routes round the city. Beautiful building. Staff very polite and made you feel as an individual guest. Spa a real treat.
Rooms were often not serviced until late afternoon so retuning from a day out meant sitting in the lobby till ready.
I thought the location, right at the Eurostar terminal, is excellent, reducing stress levels to nil, knowing that we were certain to arrive on time.
The fraying towels
The staff are good. They make the experience and reception is very efficient. The breakfast is very good and the spa is ok. If you intend to visit for the location it will not disappoint if you intend to visit for the general ambiance it will be a good experience.
The rooms are basic infact other hotels have better rooms. The only option offered was to upgrade to a junior suite which is hardly economical. The room could do with a touch up the walls showed signs of wear and tear. But minor and hardly worth not visiting.
the hotel is a beautiful example of Victorian architecture. The renovation work is spectacular, we loved our stay but we found it on the expensive.
Great architecture in public rooms, bedroom, good location in an interesting part of London, helpful staff.Elegance of public rooms contrasted with very boring and corporate bedroom with drab cream walls and little colour. Designed for application across the world, as we could have been anywhere when in the room.
Towels ; rough and not luxurious at all, I had better in 2 * b@b on trip to Germany recently. Noisy meal in Boooking Office restaurant due to live music over speakers, could not be avoided in entire room. I like live music but not at that volume.
The architecture the ambience
The lifts could not get them to go where we wanted only just caught our eurostar connection to italy because we went up and down very stressful would use the fire steps another time
The hotel facilities bar and communal rooms
The convenience of checking in to such a wonderful hotel having just arrived by train . The staff were all friendly and helpful.
