The room was very "state of the art" with superb lighting and bathroom facilities were top notch. The parking facilties were horendous for me as I had hired a high vanwith roof bars which I could have had taken off (or given an alternative van) if I had known about the car park which did not accept high vehicles. I spent a good 3/4 of an hor trying to find a car park and eventually had to park in the only space outside the hotel. The guy at reception wasnt very helpfull (probably not his fault) and couldnt tell me wearelse to park. If the one space hadnt been available I might have been driving around reading yet! The second night I had to park on the street about half a mile away and had to shift the van by 8 in the morning. All this hastle mared my stay somewhat. |

Convenient to theatre and rail services Check in was extremely slow, with no explanation given as to why. Computer system for staff seemed slow or confusing |

The locallity. I didn't like the fact that there were no heavy curtains at the window, so we had light pouring in all night. |

We liked the cleanliness of the room and the size. The bed was very comfortable and the facilities such as t.v. and inteernet access were very goood. There was agood selection for breakfast but unfortunately it was not very warm by the time we got to it. |

The Hotel is good, the location is great for shopping and lounges are great to relax. The only gripe I have is there is no porridge and fresh eggs for breakfast and a choice of fish would be great breakfast. |

The layout of the Hotel was excellent and the rooms are of a high standard. The Breakfast chef does not do poached eggs for those that don't want rubbery fried eggs and no fresh porridge for those that don't do cornflakes, otherwise very good spreadb for breakfast. |

The new decor from what it was previously is much improved. The staff are very helpful when asking any questions. The bed is a fantastic size and comfortable and the room did not have any external or internal noise issues. The room was far too hot and the air con didn't work very well. The TV wouldn't turn on and the hot water wasn't exactly hot, more warm if anything. Check in was rushed and we weren't told anything about breakfast times etc. The vending machine prices are very overpriced. £1 for a can of coke is daylight robbery. Being situated on Oxford Road you get the smackheads and drunkards begging for anything once you pop out for a cigarette. Worst of all is that you have to pay for parking as spaces are very limited at the hotel. |

I enjoyed a few drinks in the new lounge, the couches are fab, the surroundings cosy, relaxing and inviting .the beds are to die for. I am sorry to say I am not excited about the decor in the bedrooms a bit to jazzy and flowery |

It is a hotel near all important shops, walking distance from the Reading station, very helpfull staff and clean bright rooms. We had trouble with our connection to the Internet and the lady at the reception came straight to our room to help us out. The split unit did not work very well and we feld a beat cold. |

The location of the hotel convenient to train station and the room and facilities were ideal for a weekend break away. The complementry bottle of water was missing from our room on arrival and never appeared even after we pointed this out to reception. |

The "newness" - I believe it has been recently refurbished and therefore is not looking at all tired. Great bathroom and size of bed (king room) |
