Staff very helpful
Rooms facing the street vary noisy
The vibe was cool and chilled out, very quiet even though it was on a busy street and parking was a very sort walk away
Only 1 chap on reception meat we had to wiat a while before being able to check in - 4 ahead of us in the que. We had booked a comfort room but were given keys to a stadard twin - wasn't impressed by that. The picture showed a bath but wen you read the small print its not there.
Staff really friendly and helpful also they have a 24 hour bar which helps if you have jetlag.
Parking was roughly about five minutes away.
room next to busy highway active through night, normal wifi difficult to connect, breakfast a bit overdone
The reception area was cosy and nice. Bar Staff friendly and Reception Staff competent.
Room was a little cool and air condition would not blow warm air. Not enough pillows and they were too soft. As a result I did not sleep comfortably. Wifi connection was poor.
Great value for money
Even though check in wasn't till later, we were checked in at 12 which was much appreciated.
Nothing comes to mind.
Convenient location, very clean. Friendly and efficient staff
Facility and the room + Free TV
The level and quality of reception
Parking not convenient;
Standard of room, staff, cleanliness
No parking on site
Too much expencive , rooms are not so good, the service people are not so smiley
Spacious rooms Well equipped Reasonable location
Very expensive breakfast No parking - and expensive locally Poor staff attitude - not very interested!
Staff and quality of breakfast for a large Hotel
Excellent value for money and central Reading location. Very nice entrance foyer - modern and funky. Rooms fine, bathrooms lovely, particularly the amazing toiletries! Would definitely stay here again as long as price remains competitive. Have previously stayed at the Hilton (location not good) and the Novotel (which was good and I would have used again, but the Penta was cheaper).
Not sure about the decor in the room, but not a major problem - just a personal thing (and that's being really picky!!)
I have stayed many times in penta as location, price (below £60) is very attractive. Rooms look very cheap but they have a style so yes.. all good
Receptionist on check in and check out both rude grumpy and patronising. Not even mention smile! When I checked in last time I booked smoking room just beacouse I thought there might be some little balcony and ask receptionist about balcony she said " you booked smoking room you smoke in a room!" Generally unhelpful and dont care attitude. On check out I was given ticket to carpark but no one told me what to do with it till I was stuck infront of the car park barrier waiting half hour for parking attendant to tell me I have to pay full price as ticket I was given is only discount ticket not free stay ticket.
Very close to local shopping centre and bars, beds are amazing, very comfy and big. We booked a smoking room which was great as there arnt many hotels that offer this anymore. I stay here atleast once every couple of months as I live in London and have friends in reading.
Should have been 50% cheaper on everything! Bar, room, food all over priced. No parking, difficult to get into, and parking discount ticket didn't work
No coffee and kettle in room No iron in room TV didn't work Wifi very slow. Need to pay for wifi. No pressure in shower.
Reception staff during the day very friendly and helpful and hotel had a boutique like feel.great position for shops and railway station
Late night staff on reception disinterested. Breakfast was expensive at £15 each and drinks at the bar pricey
Spacers room, very clean and very comfortable bed
Not that I spent much time in my room but none of the terrestrial tv channels worked. Small criticism
The staff was very friendly, quite good location about 5 minute walk to town and bars.
The spread of breakfast was amazing, they had bagels, pancakes, fry up and fruit but the fry up was really manky.
Comfortable bed. Decent shower. Very nice bar/lobby area and friendly bar staff. More like a swanky bar than hotel reception/bar area. 3pm check out Sundays
No information pack in room so not obvious how to get wifi. Reception staff miserable
