The location to sauchiehall Street, the hotel was quiet
Trying to find the hotel,
Breakfast was great!
smell of smoke coming from some of the other rooms; lack of WiFi coverage in the bedroom (accessible in the public spaces)
The room itself was lovely, the beds were comfy and our room was clean. There was a tv which we had on most of the night and it worked well. We were able to listen to music before we went out.
The rest of the hotel (everywhere a part from our room) e.g. The hall and reception, was very dated. The wall paper was falling off of the walls and the carpet was old. The lady that we were greater by at the front reception seemed to say everything that was negative and didn't actually say enjoy your stay.
Nice Location, big room, comfortable bed, nice breakfast, friendly staff, free WiFi all day long, good price!!!
A problem with the water of wash basin but was fixed the next day
The hotel was right in the middle of the city.
It is a bit rough and ready but for the price with breakfast it was very good.. Could do with a bit if money spent to refresh the decor, etc..!
Clean bedding , good location and the breakfast was good
The hotel is possibly the worst I've stayed in, very worn and shabby, the carpets were threadbare and fixtures and fittings were very old and tatty, the decor was awful ,
Had to get up and leave. Walls paper thin. girls partying on one side and a couple talking (only talking) on other side into the small hours. Room was a complete echo chamber. We gave up at 2am and drove home. NOT a good experience
Was good location. Staff on nightshift was nice
No remote control for the tv. Cold at night not enough blankets. Shower was poor
Breakfast was ok, the chef give us undercooked bacon and the eggs where raw,
A great hotel to stay in, staff were really helpful and told us how to get to pubs/restaurants ect rooms were roomy and shower was clean, would definitely stay again thanks for making us have a great stay at the rennie mackintosh !
Minor things, cobwebs here and there and a cracked tile on bathroom floor and when my boyfriend stood on it without known it was broken he made it worse and also cut his foot
Good budget hotel
Could do with a re-vamp
Free Wi-Fi Staff pleasant
Unfortunately, around 2.30 in the early hours there was lots of commotion in the corridor and adjoining room, someone having a party I think! This continued for over an hour and due to the fact we were 3 females alone, felt we couldn't go out to reception to complain. As we were on the bottom floor, I couldn't understand why reception couldn't hear the commotion. This caused us to have a very poor nights sleep and it ruined our stay here. I would think twice about staying here again.
Friendly helpful staff
The hotel looks dingy and old. It is situated on a steep hill with yet more stairs to go into the hotel and there is no lift to get to the rooms. On the upside we met 3 different members of staff and each one of them were very friendly and helpful.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room very clean and hotel located close to city centre and right next to School of Art.
Facilitires could do with a bit of updating, but lovely building.
Going to concert at O2 ABC so this hotel was in a great location for us! The room was fine, nice and clean.
We had Room 7, which was right behind the reception. I think the staff need to keep in mind that people often sleep late in the morning and don't want to be wakened by loud conversations right outside the door! We were disturbed by staff chatting in the little 'alcove' outside this room. Also didn't like the fact they wanted you to leave your keys when going out - for the time you are staying it's your room and you should be allowed to keep hold of your keys (although thankfully receptionist did let us take our key with us). If there's a fire risk, all room should be checked anyway - regardless of leaving key or not. A spare key should be on hand.
Cobwebs hanging from ceilings & hair in breakfast!!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent for the shops. Price was very good. Room was clean.
Could do with a bit of upgrading eg beds, carpets etc
Good, central location. Friendly staff and very comfy bed
Thin walls, could hear neighbours talking and kept us awake and woke us early in the morning.
great location, really helpful staff, nice big quiet room, great value
bit scruffy and down at heel, but hey, Glasgow's a great place
The hotel is a nice hotel although the room next to us complained as the walls are paper thin and we had music on and he was trying to sleep .. The staff at reception were very helpful especially lee who helped us solve a problem we had with our room lock .. Good location if your planning on ending your night up that way or short taxi is advised
Paper thin walls ...
The staff were so nice breakfast was good .and was clean .
The stairs my friend and I have poorly legs and got short of breath
Was close to sauchiehall St that's what mattered to , as we were going to a concert. Hotel was ok bit run down worn prob a better word needing decorated but clean . But we only slept in it bed was clean and very comfortable was value for money you only get what you pay. Would I stay again yes as I said its clean and very conviently situated , we paid £37 for two that's including breakfast
Can't really condem as I said you only get what you pay for,
Breakfas not great, adequate. uncomfortable bed, slippy duvet kept falling off bed. Not as clean as could be but adequate for the price and location
