Location, the shortest walk from the railway station. I travelled up from Buckinghamshire, stayed overnight, went ot the Ryder Cup for 2 days by train, then back home. The shortest walk was a REAL boon! Location, right in the middle of the action, shops, restaurants, etc.
Compact room, but I wasn't awake in it long!
The price was excellent . great location as we came to watch a show at the Hydro; staff lovely nothing to much bother
The noise from the main street but will definetly stay there again but;will get a room facing to the back. Our only gripe really was pillows very shabby needing replaced
City centre location
No lifts Loose carpets on stairway-hazard! Cleanliness of bedroom Water pressure poor
Location... right in the heart of the city. Dining room - very nicely decorated with Mackintosh artefacts and the breakfast was first class.
The 90 steps climb to my room on the 4th floor - with or without a suitcase, this is a challenge to be aware of.
Happy to let us get cereals, drinks and make toast at 4.30am to set us up for an early train ride. Location was key for us and everything was as good as we could expect from a low priced hotel in the city centre - city noise didn't disturb us and was only to be expected for its location.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room and breakfast area was clean.
The beds were quite uncomfortable and we had the oldest, thinnest pillows we had ever seen. We actually folded the bath towels under them. (The maid noted this and brought extra pillow-but all of the same quality, arg!!) The lock on the door did not seem secure, we placed a chair under the door handle at night. Kind of a creepier area than we expected-knew it was at a railway station area. Very noisy at night too.
The location, hotel, price and above all the staff who were so helpful and friendly and gave me a homely feel for the 5 nights stay. I was a single older lady and I felt there was always someone their should I need anything. Such a help being allowed to leave luggage.
probably just the fact I should have went up a floor so I could leave my window open at night.
Friendliness of staff, amazing breakfasts, cosy atmosphere central city location tiny bar close to the rooms
The view from 103 (rooftops) lack of pillows - one each! Otherwise fabulous
Rennie macintosh decor
Street noise , club noise
Would be better if wifi was available in bedrooms
The quality of breakfast although not much
The water at the shower had no press and even I told about it noone bothered. The room was in bad condition (bed, door..) and too noisy cause it looked at Union str.
Cheapest I could find in Glasgow. Comfortable room/ Good breakfast. Very good central location near stations.
No lift. Reception upstairs. Area not the most salubrious.
breakfast good but too early checkout
very noisy street early morn and at night
Location -right at the station - and there's a tatto parlour almost next door
Stairs -there is no lift. Reception is one floor up and all accommodation 2 or three floors up narrow stairs. The place is a rabbit warren and a fire trap. Our room on the third floor was very small, had a sloping attic roof, and the bathroom floor was on a slope. Staff we're not particularly helpful with several different requests and could learn to smile! WiFi only on the reception floor.
The rooms were small and dingy. Only 2 pillows. No lift and on 3rd floor with spiral staircase. Very old fashioned.
Very comfortable room and bathroom
No lift.Have to walk up steps to get to the hotel
Very friendly and helpful reception staff member both on the night itself and next day.Good advice about taxi services etc
I have nothing to enter here
Plenty of tea/coffee, with lovely biscuits and bottled water. Room clean and beds comfortable. Staff polite and the breakfast was very tasty.
The noise coming from outside on the street was appaling! Didnt actually fall asleep until after 4 am!. Though this is not the hotels fault, maybe if they were to provide earplugs, this might help.
location friendly staff good value for money
hairdryer in room broken all stairs to room
Atmosphere, dirty, confined, gloomy
Good room size and comfortable beds
Trudging up stairs with heavy suitcases no lift. No anti slip mats in bath or on tiled floor. An accident wating to happen.
Easy access to local facilities
Smokers standing at the street entrance
Quiet room allowing good night's sleep
Location near Central Station was a bit seedy. Very basic hotel in a depressing city.
