Comfortable, friendly hotel in the centre of a charming town. The kippers at breakfast had a very strange smell and taste, like no kipper I have eaten before.

Clean, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Cosy and warm with generous tea/coffee facilities. Ticking radiator at night and water ran brown in the bath!

A friendly welcome and they catered for our every need. Our mother was 87 years old they upgraded our rooms so we could be on the lower floor and charged us the special offer rate as quoted. They ran round looking for a chair to go in the walk in shower for our mother, because she finds it difficult to stand. Thankyou so much and we would certainly stay there again.

The staff members were friendly and helpful (finding a feather pillow for my companion an absolute coup), the room absolutely spotless and the bed very comfortable. We had trouble with the toastmaker though in the dining room, working out how to do it and the brad only toasted on one side. Never mind, the stay was very pleasurable - thank you. The toaster!

Great comfy bed. We didn't stay for long and didn't use the restaurant but we were happy with the room for the price that we had paid. Friendly staff. A few minor issues on arrival such as a window that wouldn't shut and some dirt on the carpets in our room but we sorted it ourselves.

Walls very thin was disturbed by next door resident. Light in the bathroom for shaving did not work and the toilet was loose. Arrival reception and breakfast staff were spot on. Departure reception staff didnt ask about my stay and if every thing was ok.

Room was adequate and staff were pleasant. Cleanliness was good. Service in the restaurant was very slow. We waited 40 minutes for our starters and a further 30 minutes for our main course to arrive. We were told on arrival there would no late bar on New Years Eve. The bar would be closed about 22-30. If we wanted a drink, we would have to visit one of the local pubs. As it was pouring with rain, this was not an option. We celebrated the arrival of 2012 with a cup of tea in our room. The hotel seemed to be run by very young people who were not aware of the correct procedure in some cases. We would not recommend this hotel now. We used to stay regularly in this hotel but are sad to see that the standard has fallen so low.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel and checked in to our checking out 4 days later, we were treated extremelly courteously and all staff were very friendly. The room was very comfortable and clean throughout our stay. We ate in the hotel for 2 of the nights and the meals were both excellent. We would not hesitate to stay here next time we visit Cornwall, or to recommend this hotel to any of our relatives or friends that wished to visit Cornwall.

The room was too hot which made it difficult to sleep (end december and the heaters were turned off), therecwas only one duvet on the bed which was too heavy but too small for two people, and the kids bunk sounded like it was about to collapse. The food in the restaurant was dreadful.

Friendly staff. Food good but a bit expensive. Unfortunately the room walls were quite thin so next doors baby crying every hour woke us up.

I have stayed in many chain hotels and can honestly say this was the best. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious. The linen crisp and fresh smelling. Noise levels were minimum. Altogether a very relaxing break. The staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant was good. A full cooked breakfast completed our stay.

Really good size room, very clean and comfortable. Reception staff very welcoming and helpful. Lovely cooked breakfast. Its not a dislike as such just an observation that the restaurant staff were very slow and did not seem to know what they were doing!

Scrupulously clean, tastefully decorated, friendly, efficient service. Comfortable bedroom, warm and peacefully quiet. The spacious dining room overlooked a heated swimming pool, a surprising touch of luxury. The dinner menu was wholesome and varied enough, breakfast was joyful, many thanks

It was generally a pleasant experience however we thought the dinner menu lacked imagination - Gammon as a special! The food itself was average
