A very quiet, 'remote' location. You really feel you've left the world behind. It is low key, not 5 star which suits me. Not a lot of cooking facilities but enough. Laundry facilities good. Plenty of space and a beautiful location. Cows almost outside the front door! Sheep a hundred metres down the road.

We have done up our barn over the last few years for use as holiday accommodation by guests who all say it is a lovely place to stay. We have kept its historical character - it is over 200 years old - while also making it into a comfortable and friendly place to stay.
We have lived and worked here with our family for over 30 years. We love to walk, bike - mountain and road - and ride (horses) around this area and so are well placed to point you in interesting directions. We often go down to the coast for a change - there are some great beaches and coastal paths. We are generally around to help if you need to ask something or have left something essential behind.
What exactly is it you like to do? Walking, strolling, biking, birdwatching, taking photos, revelling in the natural environment, finding quiet places, meeting different people, eating, drinking, exploring. It's all here - much of it right outside the front gate and we can point you towards the things you might find of interest. Castles, beaches, hills, rivers and streams, restaurants, pubs, local towns and shopping - they are all fairly close at hand and some of the best in Wales. Look at our Rhiwiau Self Catering Facebook page for some suggestions - we've done them all recently ourselves so we know they are good value. If you like good food, Carmarthenshire has some excellent cheeses and meats and some good places to eat them. Some other very local attractions - the Llanelli Wetland Centre, Gwili Steam Railway and the National Botanic Garden of Wales, and Gerddi Aberglasney (Gardens). Two of our favourite outings are to St David's (Pembrokeshire) and Castell Carreg Cennen - a great medieval ruined castle. There are others still more upright too.
