really close to Hyde Park, and a really nice staff. it was easy to find a restaurant for the dinner, in only 2 minutes you have the choice between a dozen restaurants. The room was really pleasant.
for my girlfriend whose knee was hurting,to get to the third floor by the stairs was really painful, a lift could be a good idea ?
we were in a separate building to the breakfast building, in a basement room which was a bit cramped with a very small bathroom, but spacious shower cabin
Was not expecting too much as i only paid £65 for a night in London, but firstly was very happy with the location close to Hyde park . I found the staff more than helpful . The room it self was clean , had air conditioning and looked like it had been modernised not so many years ago.
Room was small but I did expect it to be .
staff very friendly and helpful, great location, mins from Paddington underground close to hyde park
good choice for breakfast but not too my daughters liking unfortunately(just fussy)cooked breakfast available but had to pay extra, which for the price assumed would be included
Breakfast and cleaning staff were lovely. Always polite and friendly.
4 flights of steps up to room, no lift, no warning when booking. Shower wasn't very warm, took for ever to get warm didn't last long. Remote control on TV didn't work. Had to stand on bed to turn on and change channel.
it was clean and there were towels. the receptionist was a gentleman. Though not English.
for 106 pounds per night there could be toothpaste in the bathroom. The tap in the shower didn't work properly.
size of room for 4 people is big at the picture when you order and so tiny when you arrive...
Convenient location, rooms more than adequate, staff very friendly and helpful and great continental breakfast.
Reception area needs decorating and it would be nice if there was a lounge area.
A good location with very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent Indian restaurant around the corner and handy for Oxford Street
A lot of stairs
- Easy access from Heathrow - Peaceful location - Nice staff - Close to Hyde Park - Close to bus stops - Good breakfast for the price
- Quiet area, very few restaurants, cafes and shops
Location is very good , all kinds of transport is nearby ( train, bus, tube) Room was tiny but clean, quite and had everything we needed. Breakfast was good , nearby streets are full of good restaurants of various types. Staff was kind and helpful. Wifi was working very well.
Room and the bathroom was really small , for a woman and small kids up to 6-7 years is ok but my husband felt frustrated sometimes that he couldnt move much . 3-4 days r ok like that but not longer than that .
Excellent location, friendly personal
small rooms and baths, wifi not working on upper floors
Quiet location in 15 mins of walking to Oxford street Clean Good breakfast
Very small room for 3 persons and even smaller washroom. Nothing beyond that.
Some plus points... 1. The location was very nice - it's near to Hyde Park and on a quiet leafy street secluded from the hustle and bustle of London. 2. The owner / staff. 20 minutes after arriving in the hotel I went for a run in Hyde Park and was unlucky enough to have my pocket come open - with my phone and key flying away. I was unable to find the key in the grass but the owner was great and although he had to get a key cut he charged me half the usual price for it - and let me get a free full English breakfast the following day. He was also very warm / charming with guests in the restaurant and took the trouble to say hello to everyone. 3. The price. I felt it was a good deal for the quality and location.
Some minus points... 1. I was in a ground floor single room and there was some noise from people above walking around in their room. It wasn't a constant occurrence but it was there if it was quiet and the people above were arriving or leaving (or getting ready to go out). 2. I was in a single room and it was difficult to shave / rinse in the sink as there was a wall unit quite close above the basin. I also found the shower difficult to use at first as it was designed in a very minimalist / artistic way with lots of square dials. I got there eventually!
Good location next to Hyde park, very close to metro station Paddington (connection to Heathrow airport), helpful hotel stuff, perfect value for money!
Excellent Staff, Location is great for traveling around London by bus, tube or train.
Rooms are small. Lots of steps to climb.
Good continental breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Great transportation hub (Paddington). Good neighborhood restaurants within 5 to 10 minute walk. Hyde Park is a few minutes walk.
Our reservation was for a room with a double and two twins and the room we received was a double with bunk beds (not exactly comfortable for 4 over 60 adults). Our room was also up 6 flights of stairs in the attic. The room was very small and décor tired.
The atmosphere at the Rhodes hotel was so welcoming in a family way that my travel anxieties simply evaporated. My room was very clean, simple yet more than adequate for my needs. Yes, the decor could be updated but why bother when it would mean raising the room rates which are now very reasonable for London Paddington. I felt safe and secure and very welcome: priceless .
Everything this is a smashing hotel, I work in London and have stayed in a lot of hotels and this is not only the best I have stayed in but also the best value for money, my current project finishes at the end September I have booked a Superior Single Room for three days a week for the duration,
There is no elevator in the hotel. We stayed on 3rd floor and had to carry luggages up the stairs. There was a party under our window until 3 am. Could not sleep. When I asked for a room change, the hotel declined. The sheets on the beds were not clean and there was large hole on one of them.
Everything was great
the breakfast buffet room could be bigger
it was clean and the staff were good
paying extra for having 3 single beds in the from a double bed and one single. The extra £20 was a bit steep when i book in the first place only to be told that it was the extra £20
+ Location (everything's near, including tube stations (Paddington & Lancaster Gate), restaurants, grocery, pubs...) + Quiet, clean and cool room (was cleaned every day, air con worked more than fine) + Nice breakfast (not only toast...) was served in the "main" building, but it didn't bother us.
Nothing to complain. :) (or maybe the price approx. 850€/5 nights felt a bit high at first but in the end it was worth it)
The hotel it's near Hyde Park, very tranquil and clean. I think I was a good experience.
I was a little troubled that there was no way of locking the room door from within - but otherwise all great thank you.
