I booked late as my other accomodation was unavailable, I had my touring bicycle and cycled to Llanarch and New Quay the next day returning the following day. The hotel garaged my bicycle overnight and made me feel very welcome. And the breakfast was a real spread!
The room was refurbished and very well appointed. All people working at the hotel were friendly and professional and the breakfasts were excellent. Glorious views and the sound of the sea.
Drunken incident outside at 3am, and lots of shouting, thankfully the ambulance service took care of it. Insanely loud snoring from another guest on my floor on the second night - which made me shout instead. But of course the other guest then went on snoring. Never heard it so loud!
Location on sea front Car parking
Room small Bathroom tiny Very thin partition walls so could hear conversation of next door guests Burnt toast
The Richmond is a typical sea side hotel - slightly dated in decor but comfortable with all the facilities you need for this sort of stay. Our room was small but comfortable, overlooking the sea front with a bay window - the view was lovely, especially with the waves. The dinner menu was well cooked but limited but the breakfast and service were fine.
The room was small but the bathroom was tiny! It served its purpose however.
breakfast, clean and well supplied
tiny room, tiny bed, poor ventilation
Room with Sea view Very good breakfast with fresh fruit Delicious dinner with sea view Friendly staff
Perfect location by the sea
No complaints at all
we had a loveley overnight stay to visit the seaside one last time before winter sets in, it was a gem of a find with a last minute booking. we had a warm and friendly welcome by the competent and professional receptionist, nice lady, the room was clean comfortable and pleasant, with the most dramatic view of the sea from the bay window. well worth a stay!
Tranquility, lovely sea view, comfortable bed & excellent breakfast. We had a spacious bathroom although there was no proper overhead shower so we took shallow baths instead!
No towel rail in bathroom.
A few meters from the sea could hear the waves as we fell asleep [room 2] Parking at the back of the hotel could take for 8-9 cars.Breakfast wonderful great choices for first course, lots of fruit, cereal, followed by large full english Staff were wonderful and very good giving directions to some of the local attractions.
Only negative were lots of stairs breakfast in the basement, reception and dining room/bar on the ground floor, rooms on the next two floors above that...no lift but our 90 year old father managed quite well.
Lovely room overlooking sea very clean . Very friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend.
Location, car park, breakfast & wi-fi
Toilet could have been bigger
Room at the top with ocean views, opening windows, central location. Nothing too much trouble, even though there was no lift our heavy bags were brought up for us.
Lack of proper shower, iron and fridge( staff were helpful about keeping our special milk in the bar fridge)
breakfast chef and food very good
Staff were so friendly Hotel clean Breakfast had a large selection on offer Lovely sea views Recommend to anyone
Location on the front, a short walk from the castle and the town centre. Good breakfast. Large shower.
Room at front of hotel with a wonderful sea view.
Rooms were quite hot which made it uncomfortable to sleep
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable and the view over the bay was beautiful. I opted to eat in the hotel and the meal was superb as was the breakfast the next morning. I only wish I coulkd have stayed longer but I certainly intend to return
Very clean room. Great bathroom. Lovely white bedding and towels. Don't be put off by slightly old fashioned public areas - it's clean and comfy with gorgeous shower and helpful friendly staff.
Just for decorative reasons the reception should be modernised, brightened up to better reflect the rooms. Wouldn't put me off staying again though.
The hotel looks over the sea [room 2 is great] falling asleep with the waves crashing on the shore. Fantastic breakfast both days pretty much whatever you want. Great choice of fresh fruit., cereal, food cooked as soon as you order and was hot which makes a change. Fabulous staff. The car parking is behind the actual hotel and can take up to 10 cars. Will visit again.
The only problem is there a lot of stairs, breakfast in the basement, bar, reception and restaurant for evening meals,on the ground floor rooms are on the first and second floor, but we had one on the first floor after asking for one without to many stairs. Quite steep steps from the car park.
A brilliant location, literally a stone's throw from the sea & minutes away from the town, pubs, castle, railway & the pier. Free parking a bonus. The room was very clean & quiet. The staff were friendly & helpful. The breakfast was delicious. I really enjoyed my stay.
Struggling really to think of anything!
I was particularly impressed by the courtesy, friendliness and helpfulness of ALL the staff; I very much enjoyed the food and didn't want for anything during my stay.
I found the room very stuffy at night; the ventilation was pretty inadequate, not to say non-existent.
Location couldn't have been better with superb views from our room. Staff were so friendly and approachable would definitely recommend the Richmond.
Location. Friendly service
