The Richmond Hotel is set on the main Georgian promenade in the heart of the historic town of Aberystwyth. The Richmond Hotel has been a family-run hotel for over 30 years. The hotel was originally built as 2 townhouses for prosperous merchants and, in partnership with the Wales Tourist Board, Ceredigion County Council and Cadw, a overhaul of the hotel took place to restore it to its original Georgian splendor. The owners run the hotel with traditional values but are ready up for the 21st century, with all the modern amenities. The hotel has a comfortable lounge with a bar where guests can enjoy a panoramic view of Cardigan Bay. It provides a relaxing escape in a warm, friendly and pleasant atmosphere. All rooms are non-smoking. Please note that bedrooms have either a bathtub or a shower, but not both; please indicate if you have a preference. The hotel does not have an elevator so please inform the hotel if you prefer a room on the first or second floor, prior to making a reservation. There is a small garden in back of the hotel, which offers an opportunity to relax outdoors when weather the weather's nice. The delicious breakfast was cooked perfectly to order. I couldn't take my eyes off the view. The room was modern yet in character, lovely bathroom. Friendly staff.

Lovely hotel - extremely friendly staff and delicious breakfast - varied choice. We also had an evening meal - the steak was divine!! Very pleased with the room and had lovely sea front view, however, I do think that the £95 a night we paid was a little pricey! All in all, great hotel and would highly reccomend.

We liked everything about this hotel! It is delightful. The sea views are fabulous, the room was very comfortable and beautifully clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was superb - second to none! We would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly!

We found this a lovely old fashioned Victorian hotel very spacious room and bathroom . Perfect position overlooking promenade and sea . Staff really friendly and welcoming . Comfortable roomy bar . Very reasonable rate. Breakfast good choice and good quality . Dinner in delightful room overlooking sea watched sunset and not the best meal we've ever had but perfectly acceptable. A thouroughly enjoyable stay . Our only real critisism was the bed . They need to replace it ! Also room was very stuffy. Couldn't really open window properly as sashes broken .

The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was superb! The location is absolutely perfect for a city-by-the-coast break. I think it's a bit on the pricy side for being basically a b&B. The rooms are poorly sound insolated and I could hear people going up and down the stairs although this didn't disturb my sleeping.

My wife and I found the hotel staff very friendly, courtesy and helpful. The hotel is located in a good possition on the sea front, with good views. We have stayed at this hotel on three occasions now, and we would recommend it for a quick break! We hope to go back later in the year too.

It has a warm and friendly atmosphere as well as being very comfortable and in a superb location. There's nothing better sitting in the window in the evening sun and looking out to sea whilst the starlings swoop the skies.

All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was amazingly comfortable and up to date as well as incredibly well cleaned and orderly. The food was excellent and the services were superb. There was nothing that I disliked about the Richmond Hotel.

Have stayed at this hotel many times now and they get it right every time The staff are excellent and when I asked if I could have a sea view room change as werent full moved me straight away. The breakfast was great and served by a lovely waitress Look forward to staying again

I found the staff very friendly, and at breakfast the young lady looking after our table could'nt do enough for us. Our room was clean and warm. I will recommend this hotel to other members of my family who also regularly visit aber to see my son who is at the university. With thanks, Monica Wills.

The whole visit was successful. We (1 meat eater and 2 non-meat eaters) were especially delighted by the breakfast. Freshly cooked, generous portions, and a wonderful spread at the buffet- I particularly enjoyed the variety of fruit- highly recommended
