The Richmond Hotel is set on the main Georgian promenade in the heart of the historic town of Aberystwyth. The Richmond Hotel has been a family-run hotel for over 30 years. The hotel was originally built as 2 townhouses for prosperous merchants and, in partnership with the Wales Tourist Board, Ceredigion County Council and Cadw, a overhaul of the hotel took place to restore it to its original Georgian splendor. The owners run the hotel with traditional values but are ready up for the 21st century, with all the modern amenities. The hotel has a comfortable lounge with a bar where guests can enjoy a panoramic view of Cardigan Bay. It provides a relaxing escape in a warm, friendly and pleasant atmosphere. All rooms are non-smoking. Please note that bedrooms have either a bathtub or a shower, but not both; please indicate if you have a preference. The hotel does not have an elevator so please inform the hotel if you prefer a room on the first or second floor, prior to making a reservation. There is a small garden in back of the hotel, which offers an opportunity to relax outdoors when weather the weather's nice. Hotel Rooms: 15

The delicious breakfast was cooked perfectly to order. I couldn't take my eyes off the view. The room was modern yet in character, lovely bathroom. Friendly staff.

Staff very friendly. First class breakfast. Great view from my room at the front. The room was very spacious. Dinner was disappointing. I ordered a Welsh Lamb Steak which was very tough. The meal looked to have been cooked a good deal earlier and kept warm. A shame as breakfast was excellent.

The welcome and general staff attitude was first class. The food was most enjoyable and the breakfast was superb with best selection of fruit I have ever experienced. I was on a business trip and would not hesitate to recommend or stay in the hotel again. Parking was also a huge benefit.

Honest, value for money, clean and friendly. Definitely would stay again either alone or with my partner Only one thing: the breakfast. Boring bog standard sliced toast and very, very overcooked poached eggs. But hey.

The Richmond Hotel does what all hotels should do - provide decent, clean, well maintained rooms at a reasonable price. Nothing fancy, but everything worked, the rooms were neither cluttered nor spartan, shower worked, staff were efficient and polite. Will stay there again. The bed was a tad hard for my liking.

For the money, this hotel was ok. Staff were really nice, breakfast was ok, view was fantastic (sea front), room was ok- had been recently decorated. Management need to go on a legionella awareness course! - the shower head was not good (room 2). Should have been changed a long time ago! As a result I avoided the shower, for the sake of my health.

This is the best hotel I have ever been to for serving gluten free and vegetarian food - no fuss and real not substitute food - not the usual ordinary food with gluten removed to have white everything. Fresh home made brown bread, and a yummy dessert. Excellent.

Staff were very welcoming. Room was very comfy and clean. Lack of ironing facility in bedroom for 'health and safety reasons' - a tad OTT in my opinion as I stay in many hotels for work across the country and this has never been an issue.

Great hotel, excellent helpfull young staff, lovely breakfast, awaken by the sound of the winter tide crashing onto the beech within full view from your lovely clean modern bedroom. all for £85 per night per couple. what more do you want.Really freindly family hotel. nothing, perfect.
