The shower overflows all over the bathroom and there were iron burns on the carpet.
Nice bar to end a good new year, lovely room, with gigantic bed
Nothing was to our dislike
There was no car park so used valet parking for 15 pounds which was in a nearby car park.
Rooms really good size. Comfortable bed giving a really good night sleep. The location was only a short walk away from the city centre.
Breakfast was very disappointing and service was quiet unorganised. Didn't bother going for breakfast on the second day.
The hotel was lovely, couple of staff very friendly and a few not so friendly, room was gorgeous loved the decor
Whdn I checked in, I wasn't told what time breakfast was I wasn't told about the free wifi, I wasn't told about the spa facilities, very disappointed by the meet & greet
Staff were fantastic. Restaurant staff were so polite and helpful. Facilities were perfect and the beds were so unbelievably comfortable.
Came to this hotel and stayed in one of the suites in summer, loved it so much that I booked it again for my boyfriend's 21st birthday, the suites are a great size and are so nice to stay in, the bed is the most comfortable I've had in a hotel, usually I don't sleep well in hotels but I had such a good nights sleep and we were allowed to extend our stay for two hours the next morning for a small price which was well worth it to be able to relax a bit longer, the shower is also the nicest I've used in a hotel! The restaurant also provides gorgeous food and the staff are all so polite and lovely, the hotel is close to the docks and there is a lot in walking distance, including the spa across the road which you can use free of charge if you stay in a suite, really loved both our stays and definitely want to return again!
The only complaint I would make about my second stay is that the room we had was slightly shabbier, but after a few hours there it was barely noticeable as it has such a nice feel to it. When waiting for our train home we were also told we couldn't sit in the restaurant after a certain time as it was hired out for a private function, but this was at Christmas time so I'm sure it wouldn't be a regular thing, and staff were really polite and apologetic about it, it just meant we had to leave earlier than expected
This was my second stay at The Richmond since it was refurbished. The hotel is a traditional style hotel with a grand Victorian frontage that is situated close to the city centre. The hotel has been very nicely refurbished to reflect the age of the building. However, the en-suite rooms have been suitably modernised with flat screen TV and shower etc. My en-suite double room was £60 that included access to the spa (but breakfast not included), which represented excellent value for money. The hotel appeared to have only a few guests, which was very surprising given the value for money and nice décor that I find much more appealing than some of the sterile, modern chain hotels.
Excellent!!! Stayed for one night, would highly recommend
Very friendly helpful staff... Gorgeous room which was very clean. Book breakfast day before for £8 odd and its lovely! Can't fault at all. Very close to city centre.
Nice friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay would stay there again.
very quite no disturbence very good value for money
lot of wasted space in room could easily be converted into something useful ie somewhere to hang coats shoes or even full length mirror to aid women doing hair
We loved the amount of space in all three apartments. Two bathrooms had baths and showers and one bathroom had a walk-in shower. The lounge/kitchen was very well set out with a sofa bed, armchair, coffee table and a dining table and chairs plus a full kitchen. There were flat screen tvs in all bedrooms plus one in lounge. What more do you need. The staff were excellent and very friendly. Would stay again.
The only thing that we did not like was that there were no mirrors by were we could plug in straighteners, hairdryers ect.
Bed was so comfy that it was hard to get up in time for breakfast! Staff were very friendly, room was spotlessly clean, car park is really secure and cheap. We have been 4 times now and are still very impressed.
Decor was lovely, whole of hotel was beautiful and inviting . Restaurant was amazing, food was absolutely perfect, service excellent!!
There was nothing that we didn't like!!'
Wasn't worth the price we paid. Room was tiny. Pictures are very misleading.
Handy location, clean and comfortable accommodation. Will be staying here again in the near future.
Good location, good value for money. Comfortable suites.
Ensure you check your room type when you book. Rooms vary widely in quality, size and standard.
Location staff friendliness huge tv screen bathroom
Size of bed was too small
Apartment was luxury
Opted for a breakfast each but was disappointed as the sausage was hard skin and dried up and egg was warm and no option for fried only scrambled. Orange juice was warm.
Free gym facilities, clean modern bathroom.
We stayed for 2 nights in early December for a birthday treat. The place is lovely!!! The staff are very welcoming and the actual hotel itself is beautiful! The room we stayed in was a ground floor room (I thought this was going to be a bit rubbish) but the room itself was amazing, lovely big beg with a bolster, and the rain head shower was divine!! Breakfast is extra at £8 per person, but there is plenty of coffee and juices and as much food as you can shovel (all served in a large room with plenty of places to sit and eat and a BABY GRAND PIANO!!) The spa over the road is complimentary, you can pay for treatments, but to just chill out in the hot tub and the sauna was great. You don’t really need to hire the dressing gowns though (£2 hire), the towels they provide are fine If you’re visiting, pay a visit to the coffee bar over the road, Central Perk (a la Friends) its fab! :) Other places on our agenda were, Albert Docks (of course), The Smugglers Cove (with the biggest selection of Rums in the world), Button Street Smokehouse and of course the legendary Cavern Club (we travelled on a Tuesday/Wednesday so it wasn’t so rammed full of people) Will definitely be visiting this hotel again (also recommended to a friend and her other half who are travelling over in January) Top marks Richmond Apart Hotel!!
As we approached the hotel, I thought to myself it was in quite a 'shabby' part of town (a few derelict buildings etc), but don't let that put you off!! Also, we were on the ground floor next to some fire doors and there was a very feint smell of smoke wafting through, but this is not the hotels fault, once we were in our room, there was no smell whatsoever.
Excellent staff, clean, very stylish lovely bar area. Rooms were big and decorated lovely
I didn't like the fact that the queen size bed was two single beds pushed together made for an uncomfortable nights sleep also the bed frame had a horrible creak so every time you turned it woke you.
Staff friendliness and helpfulness. We had checked in earlier than the normal check in time as we were attending a wedding and they had the room ready for us. Complimentary bottled water and milk was welcome. Very quiet room.
The washbasin was a little small considering the size of the bathroom. Also no shower screen so couldn't stand up for a shower. These are only minor complaints.
