Breakfast was excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Had to go into town for an evening meal. Room compact but sufficient for 2 people. Single beds a little narrow but ok for one night. No sheet under duvet. Steep hill down into town.
Room was worse than premier lodge
The staff were excellent and the food was good
No kettle in the room but there were tea, coffee but no kettle
We often use Travelodges and similar. The Richmond had more character with a mixture of old style hotel and modern restaurant. It was at least individual and we felt we had stayed somewhere different with a wee bit of personality.
The breakfast experience was a bit disappointing. Either we were last down or there were no other guests. We felt as though we were a slight inconvenience to the staff, not so much by what they said but by their lack of enthusiasm.
We stayed for two nights and were amazed at the size of the room
For the size of the room the bed could be bigger i.e kingsize
Most staff were extremely helpful
No residents lounge. Basic maid service in rooms - no hoover ever seen. Blinds very dusty and mirrors on wardrobe doors grubby. Requested a clean but no success.
Friendly, accommodating staff and relaxed atmosphere. Good restaurant. Location excellent for reaching many places in lowland Scotland. Easy reach of Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh by car or train from Linlithgow. Plenty of car parking space.
Rooms were clean and adequate but perhaps a bit basic. This didn't detract from the good aspects of the hotel and I would stay there again.
Large comfortable room, nice facilities. Nice location not too far from city centre and train station.
Possibly more healthy selection for breakfast (continental option with more fruit).
We booked our room December 2014 for June Bo'ness Fair, we had unexpected guest arrive so I booked them a room 3 weeks prior. On arriving our guest were booked in and told which room, our was not so simple, they could not find the paperwork or key, half hour later and still no key and we were still in reception. Up and down the stairs trying keys, not a good idea for my husband who has problems with stairs. We were then offered another room and a discount, so an hour later we were shown a room, good after travelling 8 hours that is all I wanted, we wanted a tea so I went to put the kettle on, this is when we noted that all the electric sockets did not work, my husband went down to reception to complain, by the time he returned the whole floor had lost all electric. Great, The staff went off once more in search of rooms for us and our friends, for the inconvenience we were offered complimentary coffee's in the bar whilst we waited. hour later we were told 2 rooms were ready, so, off we went back up the stairs, this time our original booed suite was ready, and our friends were moved to a smaller room nearby. Our suite was everything that I could wish for, absolutely lovely, apologies all round and told our discount still would stand. but no the electrics have gone again, by this time I couldn't care less. Eventually got it sorted. All this time the staff were brilliant. Hotel needs a little TLC probably a refurb, restaurant/bar 10/10 breakfast 10/10. Good Scottish Hospitality. I would definitely stay again.
No water pressure in the shower
Good parking good room friendly staff outstanding food
Staff in restaurant were very slow at serving
Very basic for the price.
not enough pillows on bed
great location, with some fabulous views from our window
when we arrived the car park was full of people at a local children's festival, it would have been nice to have been pre warned of this as it was quite noisy. the bed was very uncomfortable, you could feel the springs.
Not much choice at breakfast
Value excellent in the restaurant as was the service
The rooms need an update, double glazing would be good especially on the ground floor annexe
Great location for boness fair. Rooms in separate building are great.
Staff were Exellent, cleanliness was good. Location of the hotel was just what we wanted. overall a good hotel
Its the small things that Lets this hotel down. Bedside light no working, spot lights in the bathroom not working.the sink plug didn't close. wood surround on the floor loose. blackout curtains would be good as the light streams in at the early hours.
The setting was hotel was lovely and the food and drink was brilliant.
The window in our room once opened never shut again. I did mention this to staff. Also our lights cut out and the fireplace had a nail sticking out. Lovely hotel but needs some time spent on it.
Very friendly helpful staff excellent meals
Central heating running on some radiators made room rather hot for summer evening.Blackout curtains on windows would be nice.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
The size of the bed myself and Husband are really tall people and the bed was a small double also the shower didnt get very hot.
Accomodation in annex.. Beds most uncomfortable mattress long overdue to be thrown out. Very noisy until 3 am. Breakfast very poor quality. Not worth the £74 for one night. Would not stay there again and certainly would not recommend
