was very close to the theatre, pool looked nice but didn't use it nice decking area to sit out on

We appreciated the outdoor seating area with sea view and the opportunity to use the pool!

Poor breakfast, staff unprofessional and management were disciplining staff whilst we were trying to enjoy our meal. Room was too hot!

Friendly staff. Good location. Reasonable size rooms. Lovely garden.

Not enough parking. Tv needs updating and b nice 2 have background music or a tv in the bar area.

Our room was spacious and nice, the pool was spotless and heated.

Insuffcient parking

Booked last minute, upgraded to twin room with balcony and sea view for one night. Great location, lovely, quiet room, friendly, helpful staff. Would stay in this hotel again.

Great value for money. Close to beach and shopping area.

It is centrally located with bus services (six mins walking) and train station (25 mins walking) nearby so ideal for tripping to various parts of Devon via public transport or local tour companies. The beach, central Torquay shopping and harbour are within a pleasant walking distance. The swimming pool while small was pleasantly warm.

The location of the hotel was good. Not far from town.

The bed was uncomfortable and very noisy (mostly coming from people coming back from there night out) I could hear threw the walls.

We slept very well. The breakfast was hot and tasty and the room was large and comfortable (apart from the squeaking floorboards which is a minor issue).

I was drawn by the positive reviews but in reality I was not as impressed as I felt I should have been. The hotel seemed a bit run down and I did not like our bathroom as the window was a regular one meaning upon showering the people entering the opposite hotel could see all. Also the staff in the dining hall were quite rude an gave the impression that 'one-dayers' were not worth the effort. I would imagine families and people staying for a holiday would be warmly recieved and looked after but I felt that because we were only one night the staff couldnt care a less. We were more or less told off for going to a wrong table (we were a couple and rather than take a table for 6 we sat on a table for two and the woman huffed and puffed and complained when she had to move a few cups to the table). It was a lot more rundown than I was expecting, given the good reviews and I wonder if we were placed in a less new part of the hotel.

It was clean and warm and the staff were helpful

You had no record of my booking, you then put me in a tiny subterranean room [51], the light didn't work, the shower didn't work, the telephone didn't work (it was pure Fawlty Towers, in fact!).

Reasonable cost. Fantastic views of Torquay Bay. Bed was comfortable. Quiet and no noise from other guests

Hotel could do with updating. Decor very dated and carpets looked a bit grubby. Could do with updating outside as well and a lick of paint on the balcony railings. Didn't really like that there was no privacy on the balcony between each room, therefore next door could stare right at us when lying in the bed :/. Would be a fabulous hotel if it was brought up to date, especially with them views :)

Staff were very friendly indeed. hotel was clean and newly decorated. pool was lovely. generally a nice experience and will look to go back there again.

Can't have any complaints really. excellent value for the money paid.

The rooms were nice and big, there was a pool and games room and hotel was pretty quiet.

The whole hotel smelt like old people, a few air fresheners would have been brilliant, the decor was a bit dated and our room was on the stairs and kept being woken up by people walking across the landing and walking down the stairs.

It was cheap, and staff were friendly, but the rooms were tired. Easy location to the sea/town ce

Rooms were clean, but the shower was either cold or burning. Decor was tired and views were of the car park.

Close to town centre.

The breakfast was poor quality, Could not get many channels on tv, There was a draft through the windows wouldn't of not been happy letting my children sleep in room as the bed was near the windows. Shower did not work properly (only hot water)
