Clean room & comfortable bed, perfectly good enough for stay-over after office party. £10 cheaper than anywhere else in staggering distance from Pierpoint! Without the VAT they're only charging a shade over £20, and this includes breakfast and parking!
Lovely old building, must cost a fortune to run & maintain, and this shows. Breakfast came initially without advertised sausage. As the room was deserted i took it back to the kitchen myself, pushing open a door covered with sticky hand-prints. I didn't dare ask what the breakfast menu meant by "with our daily special extra!" The tea was one bag floating around in a pot, and even rescuing it and dunking in my cup somehow failed to turn it from grey to brown! Not really the place to take yer better half i'd say, that's if you're looking to impress, but THQH it's fair enough value for money that leaves you £10 for a couple of extra drinks.
Breakfast was very nice
Not being aloud to park annoyed me straight away . Being told to park up the road or in the car park close by . but that costs . Heaters never workrd in our room . My child was frozen all night .
good breakfast, good location, fair room size
no wireless in the rooms, did not feel very welcome at arrival as there were many students "hanging around" in the reception area.. it seemed like Ive just interrupted their conversation
great place very comfortable place relax place. Very friendly hotel
I liked everything about this hotel, the staff were lovely, the room was comfortable, it had amazing views. I would use this hotel again.
Balcony with great view
Probably old building maybe could do with a lick of paint here and there
closeness to shops and seaside. All attraction bus stops etc were very conveinient .
we were ok with every aspect of our stay
Close to theatre Clean Good value for money
Our room was noisy. We could hear loud voices until way past midnight and then again 7.30 am. Not many staff visible at reception
We liked the large room size and the kids (aged 5 and 2) loved the bunk beds. The room was nice and warm. The breakfast was nice enough with a decent selection of fruit and cereal. The staff were happy to provide extra toast and coffee. We didn't book breakfast with the room but it was only £5 extra and the kids were free so I thought that was really good value. I liked the fact there was entertainment in the evening. The singer reminded a bit of Neil Diamond. The bar prices were very reasonable too. Overall we were very happy with our choice of hotel
I would of liked a slightly larger cooked breakfast but that is probably just me being greedy. A sea view and a balcony would of been nice
The room was far too hot even turned the heating off not a bad thing for most people.
The size of the rooms was brilliant and the location was good for us as a young couple Very clean
The room was very old fashioned and it smelt like old people.the floor boards was very squeaky could hear everyone moving around The room was on the fire exit stairs and the weather was awful while there and all we could hear was water dripping down heavily onto stairs staff were always on there phones at reception when we were coming in and out of hotel and not wearing a uniform so receptionist just looked like a customer.
Very friendly very nice room ideal for a night out in torquay only 10 minutes away by car
room and breakfasts
the fact we were not told about the restaurant or bar being closed for the weekend we were there.we were told they were open on the monday,we had to use other hotels facilities. also front entrance step used for smoking area.
The sea view
Room too warm
Good value for money, close to the town and Princess Theatre and it has a car park.
The fact that the central heating was on all night. Whether it was faulty, I don't know but I was unable to turn it off so was unable to get a good nights sleep as I was too hot.
Room size & view were great, very close to everything, didn't take the car out once parked. Great value for money.Staff were helpful & friendly. I would recommend any one on a tight budget to give this hotel a go. Around the corner was another hotel with reasonable meal prices & great view.
Good location, excellent view, comfortable and friendly staff. Very quiet without traffic noises.
friendly staff. room was a good size
lack of car parking facilities
Very helpful and friendly staff. clean rooms and comfortable beds. great breakfast choice. thanks again for looking for my fathers hearing aid that wasn't lost. lol. karl
shortage of hot water in the evening was a minor problem.
The staff are very friendly, very welcoming Breakfast was excellent
If I had to be picky the pillows could do with being firmer
good breakfast. spacious room and ensuite.
on quite a steep hill. No hot water initially but the problem was fixed after we reported it.
The staff was nice and accomodating
The hotel is very tired. Bar was not open on the weekend. Carpets and curtains not good and the bed was hard and squeaky.
Myself and my partner spent a night and the room was very good for the price my only criticism would be the television size. On arrival the lady that greeted us was lovely but later on in the night the staff weren't that friendly. I would go back again.
size of Tv
The staff were really friendly
Everytime you moved in bed it made a funny noise like there were plastic sheets underneath?
The whole thing was out dated and needs doing up. Noisy floors, doors and very thin walls. Bathroom was poor with awful shower which was just a dribble and either boiling hot or freezing cold. Bath was cracked. Whole bathroom looked dirty which is the biggest put off. Radiator was broke so told either to have it on all the time full heat or off. Would not return ever.
