Richmond Gate Hotel  

Location and friendly staff.

Breakfast NOT included. For a total price of £454 for two rooms I thought it was rather mean not to offer some sort of breakfast.

Convenient location with easy access to Richmond Park and restaurants and transport in Richmond.

Rooms are very small by international standards. Hotel does not have full airconditioning. Rooms have a split system airconditioner but this is only on when in the room.

The room was in the basement which had a musty smell , the view was non existent and the decor looked in need of a revamp. In addition there were areas of the bathroom which needed a good clean

The location by the gates of Richmond Park was amazing. We went to a wedding at Pembroke Lodge and could walk there.

Pleasant staff and very comfortable double bed in room 43 with excellent sheets

Bottom left hand corner of bath panel is damaged in room 43. Looks shabby. Food. Disappointing duck served with nothing but tomatoes and too many of those. Risotto was very bland and not too in it except rice. Eton Mess, far too much cream and not much else ie very little fruit and one piece if meringue - should have had far more of both . I left 3/4 of the cream . Chef needs some guidance .

The room was very small and looked out on an old shed. Very poor value for £169.

Short walk into Richmond and the train into London. Parking

i tried to order 2 sandwiches from the 24 hour menu only to be told that i couldn't have them as there was nothing in the fridge which i did not believe to be true. also i have a gash on my leg from a nail which is sticking out from the base of the bed,right hand side room 101. i did not complain as i didn't want to make a fuss.if it was not for these factors i would love to stay at your hotel again.

Staff were very helpful, I arrived 7am and was able to check into my room, which was lovely after a long haul flight

The spa jacuzzi was being refurbished- this is not mentioned on hotel or health club websites. There is no date for re-opening, it's closed 'until further notice' so if you really want to stay for spa facilities, they are not as advertised.

Staff on initially calling for an earlier check in as we were to attend a wedding, were brilliant. Informed me that they would put our room as a priority and it was. Same female staff member who I spoke to on the phone on our checking in. Very polite and helpful. Great customer service.

The night staff member was unfortunately the complete opposite. On returning to the hotel reception at 1145 pm the bar was closed. I ordered a bottle of wine for the room. On attending the room with the wine which was wrong, I politely called and asked to have it changed.this was met with reluctance and a couple of negative comments from the staff member. Hence not a positive vibe.

The location of Richmond Hill is the only thing I the favour of the hotel.

Lots of things about this hotel is wrong. 1- The place is too old, evrything is stiff from the lock on the door which doesn't work to the windows which are a century old, no lifts in 21 century, worst of all horroble smell of wet paint on the door which is so dangerous for health , inhailing that fume, tv channals not having films due to locking the movie channals. I feel I have been cheated. At present trying to take legal action unless I get a refund for my £89.10 The jakozzi also was not working and not mentioned in the website.

Lovely staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Comfortable, small but cosy room nicely furnished and quiet. Liked the sitting rooms and the cosy bar.

The breakfast was disappointing. The booking.com website states fuull breakfast £12 but in fact it is £16.50 we opted for the continental which was overpriced at £11.50 and when things ran out they were not replaced. Such a shame as otherwise the hotel was very good

The Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

The windows were a bit grubby, but not bad enough to stop us going back.
