Location of hotel; helpfulness of staff; air conditioning; nice bathroom but it always steamed up (no working extraxtor) I thought that given the location, the view from the room could have been better (only view was of the ugly rooftops of the hotel annex). I also thought that given the price (over £100.00 per night) some discounts for the rather expensive breakfast (£16.50 each per day) would have been available to residents. Also the Bar prices (£16/00 for 2 glasses of wine) seemed excessive. Room was nice but had too much furniture in it for comfort. Additional point - Is anyone really going to pay £3.50 for a small bottle of water from the mini bar?

The staff we met were very helpful and it was only a 15 minute walk in to the town centre. Whilst the room was fairly comfortable it was small, the furniture was old and therefore it did not meet the standard we have previously experienced when booking an excecutive room.

The location was good - London half hour train ride away, the staff were very obliging - my iron did not work and they replaced immediately without question If I had a complaint it would be that the lighting was poor when applying make-up etc

Very comfortable beds, safe, quiet location, with easy access to transportation to the city. Nice pool and spa area. High price considering the small size of the room, and steep prices of extras (like breakfast). No access to a computer for guests, Staff not very knowledgable about recreational options, for example could not help find a bike hire.

The hotel is in a beautiful location, very handy for visiting the city of London or to sightsee locally. We were able to drive to Richmond and park free at the hotel car park. We enjoyed going by train/tube into London for the day and also walking into Richmond and enjoy local shopping and also eat in Richmond in the evening and then walk back to the hotel.

Proximity to town centre Four of us travelled as two couples wanting to stay at the same hotel, The Richmond Gate on arrival we were informed that one couple were to stay at the hotel next door (The Richmond Hill) while the other stay in the Richmond Gate. This is not acceptable and we got the feeling that is 'normal procedure'. Although we were compensated with a better room our friends had to move and to make matters worse in to a shoe box, again unacceptable. So be warned and check that you booked into the hotel you want before arrival!

Pleasant staff, nice dining room or food in the bar. Comfortable beds. A bit far for walking into town. Would have liked to have had a room with a view, but I realize that some rooms have to face the back.

Reception staff very pleasant and helpful. Convenient for Richmond and central London. Good car park. The room was rather small for an executive room and the breakfast (which we did not take) seemed rather overpriced.

Excellent location for our requirements. Very good (& free) parking facilities. Staff, especially reception, very friendly and professional. Price paid (through Booking.Com!) very competitive for location and attractiveness of the building.

It was a weekend trip to meet my daughter, I live in Northants and she lives in Brighton so was a good location, half way. The hotel was ideal and quiet the first night (Friday). It was in a good position as we went to Hampton Court on the Saturday and then stopped at Kingston for shopping on the way back. Room was small.

The hotel and spa facilities were lovely! Staff were friendly to start they didn't understand us very much and then forgot about us when we ordered lunch but they were nice enough! The hotel was definitely worth the money only wish that we had manage to book in for a massage. It was close to train station and easy to get to London centre!!
