Lovely welcoming country pub.

The pub is in a fantastic location beautiful big room.
bathroom rather dated and electric shower very noisy
Inn is old and gorgeous, great bar atmosphere, young owner took a while to warm to us but talk about rugby union and he is putty in your hands and is actually genuinely a lovely young man and you can see the locals enjoying coming to the inn, and not because it is the only inn in the village :)
Nothing really just very old and quaint. Would certainly go back in a heartbeat.
Beautiful location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Rooms full of character and very comfortable. We will definitely return.
The staff were very friendly and efficient.lovley local pub, excellent food and service.
Character of thatched wooden frame listed public House and Conservation Area setting and reputation for good food and beer. Bed room 3, where we stayed was large and dual apect. There were good views of one wing of the traditional pub glimpsed views of village green from front window and an enclosed rear yard to rear. The side window to bathroom which had a bath and toilet had poor privacy as it faced a large landing clear glass window in next door house. The very large room had ample cupboards and chests but no table and chairs. The two single beds pushed together had uncomfortable mattresses The food was very good but hot breakfasts choices limited to full English. The clientelle on the two weekday evenings we stayed were mainly locals who were friendly. We particularly enjoyed attending the regular poetry evening held in the function room on a wednesday there we were made to feel very welcome.
poor privacy to side toilet window, läck of chairs and table and poor matress which affected sleep. also there was noise from internal construction albeit the workers started late and finished early
Peaceful location Friendly staff and locals Large 4 poster bedroom
Thin walls between our bedroom and bathroom of next room!
The food is good but pricey.
Smokers congregate outside under the window. It was very warm but we had to shut the windows or the room would have been full of smoke.Limited broad band access. Mould behind the taps.
We all greatly enjoyed staying here .The staff are very friendly, and all three of the rooms we booked had lots of character and the kitchen produced wonderful food .The village green is lovely and the Church very impressive - lots of lovely country walks .
Alas no mobile phone reception for all five of our group but the ring of bells does have broadband .
Location means you can walk without driving from the hotel. The food was really excellent and room (number 1) was large and comfortable. Your own private (steep!) staircase was all part of the charm of the building.
The only thing I can think of was there was a little mould in the shower area - we should have mentioned this to the hotel at the time but forgot, apologies. It certainly won't stop us staying again!

The Ring of Bells in North Bovey is an unmissable gem! There are no street lights, no traffic lights, no shops, no noise in the town! Just the 5 bedroom inn : The Ring of Bells - right out of a postcard with its thatched roof, low ceilings, uneven floor and black wooden beams that anyone over 5'9 will crack their head on, a church, graveyard, the village hall, a village green complete with a maypole and several beautiful cottages, all painted snow white, almost all thatched. The bar in the Ring of Bells has a wonderful selection of nuts and nibbles in jars and you can buy a portion in a dish to nibble with your drinks. They had pistachios, cashews, peanuts - salted and dry roasted, sausages, chocolate eggs and jelly beans and also dog biscuits for your furry friend! The restaurant serves wonderful food and the staff could not be more friendly or helpful. The rooms are fabulous and what was a lovely touch was that they had a lovely booklet on local walks around the area. I want to stay here forever!!
Room was large and comfortable. Don't know why the towel rail was full on overnight - couldn't switch it off. What a waste.
Plug sockets in room did not work. Staff were inflexible over my wanting breakfast earlier than 8:30am. Staff couldn't present us with the correct bill for our stay and suggested we had stayed 2 nights when they had included extra meals on our bill.
the pub and all its staff are superb, there cant be a much better location than this, food was great, staff attentive,a very local feel, its our favourite bolt hole,
in high turnover rooms there is not a great deal of time to sort out the odd problem, the bathroom in room two needs a bit of tlc,we were there last year, and it needed it then, however its a very small problem in an otherwise great place,
The accomodation was exactly what I wanted... A rustic Inn, with character, good service & food and in a great location. And great value for money. Our room was very comfortable and very spacious.
V comfortable room, friendly staff, good menu selection, delightful location.
Tried to check in at busy time of evening and difficult to find someone to help me. All good after that.
Lovely, comfortable room. plenty of hot water, luxury towels and lovely view from room 1. very quiet. morning staff very good and delicious breakfast.
Mould around bath. Evening staff more problematic: I understand they are young and newish to the job, so they should get better at it.
Amazing location, great stuff and service, excellent food.
Really quaint pub/hotel, the room(no 1) was lovely and huge, had the only 4 poster too, worth the extra!!
The only let down was the bathroom, definitely a little tired, it was a shame as the hotel looks like it's been renovated recently and they forgot to do the bathroom?
