The facilities with swimming pool and SPA Really try their best as the restaurant was full to find a solution
2nd floor for the bedroom Dinner room was full and only pub available
Wedding band notice until 12.30 pm
Beautiful location, luxurious old building, amazing food in the restaurant at breakfast and at night, courteous + enthusiastic staff, excellent massage, still feeling the benefit. Will definitely be back.
The spa was a little bit grubby. The cleaning standards in the pool and steam room need to be looked at. The lockers didn't work in the ladies changing rooms. Poor standard lunch in the hotel. Clearer signage required in the daytime.
This is our second visit and we find it good value. Try the food at Risley park pub up the road for a fantastic meal and value for money.
Bad drainage smell. Sorted by putting plugs in Bath and sink and a good plug in air freshener
SUITE WAS LARGE , PLENTY OF HOT WATER, COMFORTABLE ROOM
"Full English" Breakfast cold & not value for money. Staff scarce on the evening for bar service.
The Friendliness of the Reception staff in the morning; the breakfast and the efficiency and friendliness of the staff at breakfast time. the space of the bedroom. The Manager's approach to the poor experience I had the evening I arrived.
As a solo traveller I felt very unwelcome on the evening of arrival. The receptionist was unhelpful and the bar was cool and unwelcoming. Despite the room information saying you could eat between 7.00 and 9.00 I was told on arrival at 8.45 that I was too late to eat in the dining room despite being on a bed and breakfast rate and if I wanted to eat at all could only eat in the bar until 9.00. After a long day at work and a two hour journey through snow to get to the hotel I found the whole experience in the evening very disappointing. Prior visits to the hotel have been much more enjoyable. On a positive note the Manager was very responsive and apologetic the next morning when I raised my concerns.
We love the location as we live close by and over the years it's built up a good reputation. Thats about it
upon arrival we are told all facilities are out of order, we should of been informed at least on day of arrival. Food was terrible Bridal suite is in a shockingly terrible condition. We are getting married this year and well...we can certainly cross this place off now.
The location was excellent very good facilities my wife loved the idea of spending time in the spa even when you have booked out .Asked for a sandwich as we arrived late and it was know trouble .
stafford nice what they have available for people okay for the facilities nope standard
we had a super deluxe room which had two single beds joined together wallpaper was raped no tv in the living room just one in the bedroom the cleanliness was it good overall at 10 i'll give it 2
Massive bedrooms and comfortable surroundings.
Some rooms need refurbishing.
We were there for a wedding which appeared to go very well; well organised, good food and very efficient service.
Lovely hotel and exceptional food , spacious rooms
Little disappointed that we wasn't allowed to used the jacuzzi as that's what we most look forward to on our stay
This is a fantastic looking hotel with beautiful rooms
Cobwebs in bathroom, cold bedroom, small bed, poor service from inexperienced staff, ice on drive to front door not cleared,
Jacuzzi out of order throughout our visit
room 14 very spacious Breakfast very good and good choice
Hotel was too hot and my childrens room no 6 unable to turn down heating so gave a fan and opened window. This room is very small decor old fashioned
location promptness of action of staff
The need for staff to do repair in our room to the taps, The dining was rubbish and we went next door for wonderful food in the pub.
Its a lovely old building with some great features. The guest lounge was lovely and the pool although a bit of a walk away was good for the kids, when they were allowed in it.
We had to pay for our Breakfast- the serving sizes were just plain mean- over £12 per person for 1 egg, 1 rasher of bacon and 1/2 a tomato + a pot of tea. There were only a handful of pastries which of course ran out and were not replenished. The pool while ok was very heavily chlorinated and the changing rooms needed some attention.
Toilet did not flush well. Swimming restrictions for children not notified when booked stay.
furnishings- bed and wardrobe location external building
poorly kept suites are in need of maintenance- poorly decorated and run down internally needed cleaning- dead flies, dust etc.
The rooms were spacious and nicely decorated, plenty of hot water and on the whole the hotel was very homely and welcoming. Would definitely suggest it to family and friends.
The pool and jacuzzi while of a warm temperature, the Ph and chlorine needed a look at as they were low and we couldn't stay in for long as our eyes were stinging.
The spa and pool area was lovely
The building what the suite was in was like walking into prison block very scruffy. The room was dirty with cobwebs under cabinets, cracked floor tiles, There was a dog next door barking all night. Which we didn't no you accept pets. We booked a suite room because we wanted the best room as it was a special occasion but very disappointed. Also we went down for lunch and had to wait 20 minutes for someone to see us another 20 minutes for the staff to find out what cake was on the menu. We were the only people in the restaurant so service was appalling.
liked the location and staff. The spa facilities were good as was the pool. The gym needs to have free weights or some machine(s) for resistance training.
Location, amenities, helpful friendly staff
Badly maintained, very scruffy bordering on seedy. Food poor quality and expensive.
Quaint old building.
Lovely room and great value for money
Room was a bit cold but staff provided a small electric heater
