Hotel is dated. But it is clean and priced accordingly. Can't really fault it.
The staff were as nice and relaxed as you could get. Location was perfect. Great value

The fact that the staff talked openly about their staffing problems.
Night bar staff friendly. Location great area.
12 February 2015
It is an old building which requires maintenance. Shower handled was broken and tied with shoe laces. There was no hair dryer and the kettle wasn't working in the morning. Had to wait for long at the reception. The main door was also broken. It needs better management.
The location was good for the purpose elf our stay.

21 January 2015
The location was a bit far out, it could do with . Few new beds without the 4 posts

It was open.
31 December 2014
No breakfast offered at hotel.
Fantastic location, walking distance to Haymarket trainstation and EICC.
26 December 2014
We booked a superior double (all pictures and write ups showed this type of room as a four poster bed). We were given a triple room and told all the four poster beds were broken. We arrived 15 mins before the official check in time and were still told to go away and come back later!!! The decor was very shabby and the furniture was all broken. In short the hotel was very run down, not what we paid for and extremely overpriced. We never even got an apology. We were very unhappy!
The good location and big room.
16 December 2014
The hotel is a little dated and lacks a breakfast option but the location is only ten minutes walking from the centre of the city. Lacks parking so prepare in advance. Other than that the staff are friendly and the towels and bedding are clean. Great for the 4 nights we were there.
14 December 2014
Lovely to see the original features of the hotel were kept in the old building, could be doing with a wee freshen up but that will be a work in progress. Will come back
Extremely helpful staff, TV fuse went and staff were so quick and helpful and fixed it instantly. Really enjoyable stay.
10 December 2014
Where do I start? I had had a long tiring flight but couldn't check in till 4pm- meaning I had to spend two hours walking around Edinburgh. I had to hand my key in whenever I left the hotel, I couldn't keep hold of it which I wasn't happy about. I had to pay before I had even checked in, every other hotel ive stayed in I pay upon check out. There was tea and coffee but weak/cheap paper cups that were not very good. They couldn't/didn't serve food. This hotel could be so much better.
The location was good. The bed and shower were very good.
10 December 2014
Mould in the bathroom & bed bugs.
Nice staff. Good location
9 December 2014
Nothing to dislike
We read reviews for this hotel before we booked and were very apprehensive to say the least but as we were on a budget decided to take the chance and we 're so glad we did we found the reviews left by others very harsh indeed we found hotel basic but clean comfortable and warm and location was excellent everywhere in walking distance but if you like busses and trams were a stone's throw a way and Haymarket station 5min walk round the corner We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again
7 December 2014
Decor out of date, shower needs modernising as was rather cold. The main issue was flies which made me feel it wasn't clean. Other hotels do cheap deals similar to this so got a good deal but needs a revamp!
Location, bar service
6 December 2014
We don't normally write reviews but couldn't but after our stay. Place in desperate need of modernisation;place run down; wall paper hanging off the wall; huge cracks & damp on the walls; mouldy & damp smell isn't welcoming at all; you could hear other people having showers because of age old piping etc; couldn't get wifi; bed ('supposedly' a 4 poster) & pillows were lumpy, shocking & uncomfortable - obviously as old as the hills; bed was plastic & loose & creaky with the slightest movement; some staff were completely unfriendly, way overpriced for what you get - up to £150 per night?? - complete rip off considering the Hilton is across the road; photos on website are most definitely not of the hotel. Unprofessional. Simply don't go. We were gutted & spent as little time as possible there. Ruined our stay in Edinburgh. Yuck.
Location, young man who greeted us at door
4 December 2014
The rooms were in terrible conditions. The cleanliness was absurd. My recommendation to future visitors in couple of words is 'never go there' unless you are Adams family!!!
Only the location responded to the brand.
2 December 2014
The hotels wasn't lit up well from the outside on a night time unlike the Hilton. It needs to be shown off !!!!!
Staff were good, the place is basic and a bit outdated but clean and beds were comfortable enough. At the price of £98 for 2 nights you can't complain. Solid walls so any noise was eliminated unlike Premiers.
22 November 2014
Good location - within a ten minute walk of the West End, Haymarket Station, tram and bus stops nearby. Friendly staff, comfortable room, great value.
20 November 2014
Rooms upstairs without lift, old style, basic
