Breakfast and river side location No air conditioning, needing the window open made it noisy in the evening and night. Not easy to find either

Very warm welcome from all of the staff - very friendly, very professional. Good breakfast - again very friendly, helpful waitress. Single room is a single bed, but room was comfortable and large radiator over which I had control meant I could be toasty or cool, as I wished! Not luxury accommodation, but great for the price.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The lady who served breakfast is the nicest lady I've ever met, such a friendly and helpful hostess. We had a wonderful stay. Very relaxing and the view of the river was very peaceful.

Members of staff were great, specialy Iva who is serving the breakfast. To take shower was not comfortable as the presure was very low, and also central heating radiator and pipes were making anoying noise all night along, I would not recomment this hotel, in the other hand

Food was good. Lovely home made pastry although a little too much! Quiet, comfortable bar and restaurant. Bar staff worked hard needed more of them, they seemed to be doing lots of jobs and not being behind the bar when needed. Had to wait ages for our cooked breakfast, had gone off wanting it.

Was very surprised at the size of the room. Double room was very very compact. Only room for one bedside cabinet even. Bathroom was equally small. No leg room whatsoever when seated on the toilet it was impossible to sit relaxed. If u were a large person you would struggle to even be seated. Not at all sound proof... Could clearly hear neighbours and people in the corridor. The lady waiting on the tables at breakfast was delightfully polite, very hard working and charming but was the only person there. We stayed 2 night and there weren't seating available the first morning and we were asked to wait in the bar where we were forgotten ... No fruit juice to consume whilst waiting.... Then we eventually after a 30 minute wait we sat ourselves at a table and waited for it to be laid. The second morning was even worse. We waited 55 minutes for our breakfast because our order was lost . Food was beautiful but is desperately understaffed in a morning. It started off both of our days poorly with being well behind schedule on both days.

Fantastic welcome. Room spotlessly clean and although not luxurious it had everything I needed. Bathroom was clean and towels were fine - a little dated but again more than adequate for a short stay. Evening meal offered a wide range of well priced food. Well presented and tasty with good service. Breakfast was probably the best service I have ever received from the Portuguese lady member of staff. Salmon and scrambled eggs, fresh toast (real bread) and good coffee. I will certainly be staying again, Nothing I didn't like really - bathrooms are perhaps a little dated - but as they were so clean it really didn't matter.

Excellent evening food and breakfast Very noisy, perhaps because of room facing car park. Problems with shower/bath, could not turn off! Spent 15mins waiting to be seated at restaurant. Some staff very helpful, a couple not so!

EVA The lady in the restaurant...What an amazing person,Polite/Professional/Considerate/ you must be proud to have her on your staff..Thank You EVA. Lack of sleep/due to banging doors/ other guest not being considrate to others, ie/ talking loud on the corriders. We know that we were not the only ones to have noise issues, as one guest requested to be moved to a different room because of noise.

When we first arrived we asked for a different room as the one we had been allocated was unsuitable for our requirements. We were very pleased with the way Sean acted to help us find a room which was suitable. Found the staff and service very friendly and helpful. Although the front of the building isn't terribly exciting, the back was lovely, with the view of the river in the background. Food was very nice and extremely good value for money with various special offers. The room we were initially allocated looked out onto the car park and there was a generator outside which would have made sleeping difficult. However, as I said above this was resolved to our satisfaction. Thought the room prices a little high. Rooms comfortable but a little small.

Lots of parking space and nice bar and restaurant. Good menu at reasonable prices. Pleasent & friendly staff. The room was on the small side and in need of redecoration. The bathroom was very cramped. All right for one night, but I wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer.

Very friendly staff. Eva, Breakfast-Lady, was fantastic and so was breakfast! Great location and pet friendly Quality of evening meal was poor. Our steaks took 45 min and were more then well done when they finally arrived, we ordered medium rare. Sent back to the kitchen and came back 15 min later...well done again! The meal was taken of our bill but we left hungry. Shower in our room wasn't working and the room was like a sauna. There were no spare fans and we couldn't leave the windows open since we stayed on the first floor. A cot was requested for our room but we had to ask 3 different staff members before we finally got one.

We liked everything about the Riverside and are so pleased we chose it for our daughter's wedding. Lovely staff - very helpful especially Terry and Joe for whom nothing was too much trouble. Everything was tasteful and the gardens by the River made the day very enjoyable. Our r ooms were nice and clean and very adequate and the breakfast was lovely. All in all I cannot fault the Riverside Hotel in Burton, Thank you for my daughter's wedding day being made a lovely affair.

Excellent value for money. Charming staff and a great value dinner menu in the restaurant. Breakfast was also very good with a good choice of dishes freshly preared. The hotel is comfortable and attractive and the riverside garden relaxing. I stayed here the night before my mother's funeral and the whole ambience of the hotel helped me feel calm and able to cope with the day of the funeral itself.

on first impressions from the front, it looks a little tired, but once inside its a different story. it has a very relaxing feel to the bar area and the dining area and is tastefully decorated.there was a wide choice of food on the menu to choose from, and everything you could ask for at breakfast, the food was very good.from the moment we arrived the staff were extremley helpful and nothing seemed to much trouble.the rear of the hotel has a nice garden seated area and the river runs alongside, where you can take a liesurely stroll,a very pleasent 2 night stay and would definately reccommend to others.excellent value for money. only critism is the bathrooms are very small.
