Buffet breakfast still slow on the serve yourself front, especially when you are waiting 20 minutes for 6 eggs to be brought out to a restaurant filled of waiting guests, followed by 3 pieces of bacon and 4 sausages! We didn't mind waiting as such as we were in no hurry, however, when only one of you has managed to fill a plate, and the other is then waiting 20 minutes and then is eating alone, its not such a relaxing enjoyable start to the day.
Also, with guests arriving at 9.30am for breakfast which is served till 10am, its not very nice eating with the strong smell of Dettol/Zoflora disinfectant tainting the taste of what you are eating whilst half of the restaurant is shut down early and the floors mopped. Surely that extra half an hour to wait for an empty restaurant wouldn't hurt?
We stayed here for the first time a couple of months ago and although the hotel has a very quirky appearance from the outside, the interiors are immaculate and beautifully presented, and very clean too. The restaurant was run very short staffed and we felt for the couple of members of staff running round like headless chickens trying to do their best - this time however? Wow! At least 4 members of staff in the restaurant every morning. Phil, Becky, Lauren and Paige you are a true credit to the place, and should be recognised for your welcoming customer care approach, nothing was too much trouble.
