Rock House Hotel Guest HouseManor Green, Lynmouth, EX35 6EN (Show map)
Wonderful,
Score from 70 reviews
“ Very comfortable in great location. Restaurant good. Breakfast good. Nothing to complain about so not much contact with staff. They weren't in your face, which is what I like, but pleasant. Nice little town with good pubs and walks from the hotel. ”
Anne,
Bewdley
Standing alone at the entrance to Lynmouth’s stunning harbor, this picturesque 18th-century building houses accommodations with superb views of the sea, the river or the Lyn Valley. With a unique waterside location, the Rock House is situated in Lynmouth, one of North Devon's most picturesque villages. Lynmouth lies at the mouth of the Lyn River, with Exmoor and the town of Lynton towering above. The village is surrounded by the stunning scenery and the natural beauty of the Exmoor National Park. In Victorian times, Lynton and Lynmouth were fondly known as Little Switzerland. The Rock House makes a great base from which to explore the region’s great walks; along the rugged North Devon coastal path; through woodlands alongside the Lyn River or across the rolling moorlands of Lorna Doone country. Free private parking is possible on site. Every room has a private bathroom and central heating. Each room has a TV, a hairdryer, an alarm clock and tea/coffee making facilities. All of the rooms are attractive and furnished to a high standard. Some rooms have four-poster beds. All rooms have superb views of the sea, the river or the Lyn Valley. The candlelit harbor-side restaurant has wonderful views of the sea and offers intimate dining, complemented by a selection of fine wines. The fully licensed bar overlooks the hotel’s picturesque garden, where lunches or cream teas can be enjoyed in fine weather. The room was excellent, very clean. The restaurant meals and breakfast were first class. It was nice to get parking too. The parking was a bit tight for our big 4x4 but we appreciated having a space.

Very good location,we had a comfortable room that was very clean and the staff were all very polite. The breakfast was very good, we would stay at the Rock House Hotel again. A very relaxing two day stay. Car parking could be an issue, limited spaces.

It's a small family run hotel, open to non residents serving good food. It's a great UK location with lots of walks close by. Only a shower---no bath.

The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly throughout our stay, even when we kept asking for the channels on the TV in the bar to be changed to get the best Olympics coverage! Breakfast was well cooked and served in a lovely room overlooking the harbour. Coffee on tap and as much toast as we wanted. Very attentive service with a smile!

Warm welcome, great views from our room and evening meal was wonderful too. Great for dogs, Highly recommend. WiFi wasn’t strong enough. We had no signal at all in our room. Hardly a negative thing though, just meant we had to relax and leave work for another day.

Brilliant location, stunning nature and scenery. Lovely that so close to the sea front. Peaceful location. Nice room (single room). Warn welcome. Hotel was very clean and tidy. Shower didn't work due to problems with water pressure but when I reported it, I got immediate attention and help and a good workaround.
