the rooms staff and food
The staff were extremely friendly. Atmosphere is the bar was buzzing. Food was exceptional quality and so reasonable. Beds were very very comfortable.
Hallway smelled a little damp outside room no 4.
Lovely Pub, great rooms, (stayed in two as we enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night!) Evening meals were great and good value. There was a lot of choice at Breakfast which really suited us. Beds comfy. Staff friendly and very helpful. Really enjoyed both the hotel and the area. Will definitely stay there again.
Our room was rather cold when we first arrived, till we worked out how to turn the radiators on.
servive at breakfast not good.
Food at pub good, quiet room inspite of busy road. Pleasant rural walks.
Narrow steep stairs to get luggage up to room..
From arriving to leaving we felt welcomed and cared for. Just what we needed after a very sad week of saying goodbye and closing there home down of two much loved relatives. We were looking for somewhere that we could return to again and again to visit the cemetery and my home memories. This is perfect.see you all again soon.please pass on special thanks to the lady on reception yes room 9 was beautiful.
Great location, lovely village. Food looked good, and rooms are quaint.
Nice to be remembered from previous visits . The staff's warm and friendly welcome makes our return all the more special.
The old world charm in the main bar area of the pub and the quality of the tradition "Pub Food" served there.
The rooms were situated in cottages across the road from the Rockingham Arms. The reception area is difficult to find and consists of a desk in the corner of a small bar. The staircase to rooms 9, 10 & 11 are extremely difficult to safely navigate especially when carrying suitcases
Newly refurbished shower made all the difference to what has always been good accommodation full of character. I appreciated the room only option (not big on breakfast) and the evening meals at the pub are tasty and excellent value. The ambience is such that a lone woman traveller feels perfectly comfortable eating alone. Heartily recommend.
Size of room Size of bathroom Comfortable bed Decaff coffee Staff pleasant and helpful
Cost of room £90 and breakfast not included! I thought this was extortionate but on line it said it was the only room left so I had to book it as I was going to a reunion in the village. No phone in the room to reception. As a female on her own in the room and in a room facing the road I felt a little unsafe. No ledge above sink to put toothbrush etc. Toilet hard to flush Being asked during my breakfast to find out who had not paid for tea/coffee the previous evening. I felt we were being hassled for money whilst eating- especially as I had already paid.
Nice location and friendly staff.
Large cups for coffee in the room
Being over charged for a room which we were given rather than the one we booked through Booking.com. No breakfast available on Sunday morning - which we had paid for!
very clean with friendly efficient staff
meet the need sort of attitude that made you relax and settle in quickly.
not much, but was aware of the road.
The whole package, from the pub to the room. Typically when I mentally picture rural England, this is exactly what comes to mind.
The busy street between the rooms block and the restaurant/pub section. But hey, it is what it is. Perhaps a speed reduction zone needs to be enforced.
The atmosphere. Full of Yorkshire charm!
A good lively local pub
The fact that there was no water in the room for most of the stay.
Plenty of parking, helpful staff, good food
Room, including comfy beds Evening Meal - excellent homemade Steak & Ale Pies Location for Wentworth Woodhouse
Nobody checked if we were happy with our stay and whether we had been comfortable. We asked to pre-book breakfast but were told to just turn up - member of staff on breakfast was surprised to see us. We asked for a small breakfast and a full breakfast but were charged for 2 full breakfasts (seemed a bit harsh!). TV stations don't show local TV but Newcastle-upon-Tyne based news for example
We really enjoyed the jacuzzi in the room. The food at The Rockingham Arms was good
The bed was okish a bit low and not as comfortable as the room we previously stayed there. We found other peoples rubbish at end of stay when checking room
Quiet, comfortable, clean room. Pleasant garden with shaded table and chairs. Good breakfast, pleasantly served in spacious room overlooking gardens. Wentworth is a beautiful village.
Put off by reception which was difficult to find in noisy pub.Had to wait for attention. Room in house over busy road. Fortunately the weather was fine. Narrow, steep twisting stairs to room,
The rooms were spacious and clean, with lot of old English character to the pub and hotel
It was a hot night and there was lack of air in the bedroom. Despite checking before hand that they could cater for a gluten free diet it took a lot of discussion to get any gluten free choice.
