The rooms are very tastfully decorated and the breakfast hamper a fantastic idea for a light breakfast. Food is perfect as usual from Rocksalt. I would reccomend a stay in the rooms to anyone.
Seagulls were a bit noisey in the morning!
The room decor
Would have liked view of the sea
Only minus is that the Fergy room is right on top of the Smokehouse, but no smell at all with window closed and not too bad with it open
rocksalt is a great restaurant and bar would recommend for family's celebrating an occassion and a bonus that you can also book rooms to stay over
the light to the accommodation door was not working
Bar and restaurant fantastic.
We got ours cheaper via booking .com and even then over priced, tiny wet room for bath room, small bedroom, no storage or wardrobe rooms, more eye appeal than substance, over a fish restaurant very hot and very distinctive smell..entrance down a small smelly dirty alley, windows over looked..looks fab but not worth it.would not recommed the rooms but the restaurant and bar fantastic.
The room smelt of fish. The room very small and cramped. With windows open very noisy from ally way below. Despite two persons in the room, the breakfast basket contained only one cereal portion.
The location and room itself
coffee machine didnt work and and a unusual faint smell which was not down to the location near the fish shops
Perfect all round,
Friendly staff. Very good restaurant.
Building is very stuffy and fans are needed in every room. Very little storage space. Noise and smells from the Fish warehouse below.
The bed was comfy and the room clean
Don't be fooled by the amazing pictures on the website. The rooms are small, not well equipped, no toiletries as stated, not a choice of tea/coffee and no where to put any of your luggage so you live out of a suitcase. The noise from outside and the rest of the rooms was terrible. Also was a shock that our room was above a fish and chip shop. Rooms were very hot. Parking was terrible. Breakfast was in the restaurant and not hampers in the room as expected. No choice for breakfast, just cooked and that was not that good and the bread was stale. Considering what we paid not the best place we have stayed. Would not return.
Room was cosy X
No toiletries :0(
Very comfy bed and lovely decor. Staff were FANTASTIC. One of the best restaurants I have ever dined in !
Even though its located overlooking the harbour the area is quite run down. The room is lacking in space so there wasnt anywhere to sit apart from a couple of wooden stools.
great restaurant and location close by lovely room and view of harbour
no milk in room and no instructions for coffee machine
Nice location overlooking a small harbour. Hotel restaurant was stylish and the food was of a good standard. The staff were efficient without being intrusive.
We both found the dual shower in the room was difficult to operate, some pieces fell off and the water continued to run despite our best efforts to turn it off! We got soaked getting to the restaurant from our accomodation building as it was raining heavily and it involves a walk round the corner.
Loved the styling. Very comfy bed. Good shower Great towels Great location Liked the breakfast hamper Will definitely visit again but only if I manage to book the bedroom on the top floor which faces out to the harbour.
Awful constant smell in La La room coming from the bins belonging to restaurant downstairs - bins were located the other side of the fire exit door in La La room. La La room has no privacy. The bedroom windows in the houses opposite are smack opposite the windows in La La room and so close, you can lean out the window and shake hands with the neighbours. Had to keep the blinds completely closed in the morning. No toiletries in the bathroom, just hand wash.
The view of the Harbour. The bed was very comfy. Breakfast was great. Rocksalt restaurant was lovely too!!
The stairs- we had heavy luggage!! Cupboard for coffee and tea could have been a bit bigger.
The rooms are quint & quirky, great location for Euro tunnel, better than a big hotel and the team are fabulous. The food in the restaurant is reallybverybgood, but beware, it expensive.
The noise from the guests upstairs was unbelievable, we were in La La room below, we thought we were underneath a dance school. It smells of fish, as it above the market, and the dustbins are collected -noisily at about 5.45am....on Thursday morning. You can hear the drunks having a brawl in the early hours, as the little building is stand alone with a road front & back.
Really comfortable, luxurious bed; lovely view (from sea view room) across the working harbour (and to France on a clear day); powerful, hot monsoon shower; fabulous breakfast delivered to your door in a hamper; super friendly and helpful staff
I liked the cafetiere you used to have rather than the espresso machine!
Love the quirkiness and location and the staff could not do enough for you hope to return soon but very time I look its full but can understand why.
nothing all good
Atmosphere of restaurant, good service and great view overlooking the sea, varied menu good local produce. Staff very helpful.
If your staying in the rooms a bit of storage space would be nice otherwise your living out of your suitcase. Get a top floor room as very noisy on the first floor if you have people staying above you hard floors echo and very disturbing.
The bed was wonderful & comfortable and the linen extremely luxurious. It's a great little place for a stopover for a night or two.
There is a lack of parking but this wouldn't stop us staying again.
great views, great bed and a shower to die for
would have liked bedside table
Loved the outdoor terrace overlooking harbour for breakfast, the bed was very comfortable and staff were very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again. Location was perfect too.
Room was slightly on the small side but not a huge problem.
Excellent, very friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was very nice and it was nice to have an good supply of coffee and fruit juice. Shower/wetroom was lovely :-)
The only negative to this stay was the fact that the outside door was a very heavy and excellent quality fire door, but the automatic spring back meant that every time anyone came and went we heard a very loud bang... I don't think that being in La La room (the room right above it helped), but people coming and going very late at night woke us, and again people coming and going early woke us too! and that was without the very heavy footed person in the room above, who seemed to make regular trips to the loo during the night :-(
The room itself was amazing. The comfort and quirkiness was excellent.
Local drunks wondering past the hotel until early hours of the morning. Also, the main entry door gets slammed by other guests and it's very loud.
