Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast could not have been better and very reasonably priced, The bar with a t.v. complete with all sports channels - very comfortable and relaxing. Overall ambience of the coaching inn part of the hotel was excellent. All at a budget price.

The Indian Restaurant, which was part of the hotel was welcome. Breakfast was excellent and the service from all staff was to a very high standard. Easy parking. Tea making facilities. Comfortable bed. Generally clean. The room was a little tired and needs a little renovation.

I like the fact that the bar area is acctually a pub and not a typical hotel bar. Finish serving food too early, 21:30. I had a meeting till that time and when it finished...so had room service

Friendly reception, offer of newspapers, breakfast, comfortable room plus extras eg hair dryer, tea making facilities etc, hassle free car parking, adjoining a lovely old country pub, good choice of meals available it took nearly 2 mins to get hot water through the taps--a great waste of water

The rump steak on the pub menu The traffic noise. Might not have been so bad if were possible to close the window properly (there was a gap on the hinge side).

The Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were not happy with the room we had as it smelt damp and musky, it was also dark and cold. The Manager changed the room for us but was surprised that we didn't like it as he said it had recently been refurbished! The second room was much better, but the lighting was very dark, although it was clean and smelt much fresher.

It was the nearest hotel to Knebworth where we were attending a party It needed refurbiishment. Everything was very old and basic. There was soap but no visible shampo/bath or shower gel, but there was a note saying complimentary items could be obtained from Reception. We had booked in a a couple yet there was only one bath towel and one hand towel in the bathroom? The other set was in a wardrobe?on the plus side there was a kettle withTea/Coffee,milk sugar (with a teapot) and biscuits. The bed was comfortable and the black out curtains added to a good nights sleep. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment.

Staff friendly and very helpful The room was supposed to be 'superior' but did not match my expectations! It was dark and dingy and very basic. The carpet was badly stained both inside the room and in the hallway outside. Having stayed in a number of hotels in the area recently I expected much more for the money paid. I will not stay there again.
