The whole experience was very pleasant from check in to departure. I was upgraded on arrival the room I had was very quiet spotlessley clean with a beautiful bathroom excellent shower and a bath. I had a really good nights sleep probably the best sleep I have had in a long time. Breakfast was great too loads to choose from with friendly & helpful staff,I will definately stay here again. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone. I suggest you read the negative reports for this hotel with a pinch of salt they do not reflect a true and accurate picture certainly not in my experience anyway |

The breakfast choices were many and varied, the staff at the great western were helpful, the location was perfect. We may have had the information sent in a prior email and knew about sharing the parking with the great western but upon arrival at our hotel we did not realise we had to book in at the great western to collect our keys which caused a bit of a delay. |

The Food was very good and Great Location Lady on breakfast needs to go to service school. "Your table is over there" she shouted from behind the bar pointing and then as we sat down she shouted..tea coffee what you having. The young waitress were polite would not mind but only us and one other gentleman in at the time Lady in a polo shirt long hair in her mature years...could of just been a bad day!! Was in The lodge attached to Best western, we did ask if any rooms available in the main hotel receptonist nearly bit my head off with the answer no!! THE lodge was scruffy where builders would stay! Not ideal for a family with children as we had a triple room we had a 3 year old with us and had no help with cases as it was quite a treck from the Best Western reception as it was snow. The bar was excellent food great lovely staff. Breakfast was great. |

The staff were happy and informative and very polite.I like the fact that it was directly on the beach. The first night I was there my room 213 in the lodge was really filthy. You could tell that it hadn't been hoovered for such a long time. There was too much dust around the edges of the carpet and also big bits of fluff and dirt all over the carpet. There wasn't a toilet brush in the bathroom or any shower gel or shampoo. The double bed was broken, there was also a stain on the quilt cover and the wardrobe was broken. When I complained they did come and put this right but it took one and half hours before I could fall into bed after a 10 hour drive.The next day I was moved into room 209 which was bigger and much better although the floor was still not very clean, but the bed was more comfortable, but still no toilet brush. |

Staff were pleasant and the food was good with ideal access to the facilities etc. The room was open when I got their the carpet needed cleaning and the shower suspect! |

It was not actually the Roker Lodge that I ended up staying in. When I arrived I was told that I had been given an upgrade (i.e. a room in the Best Western Roker Hotel) at no extra charge because the heating in the Roker Lodge was not working. The room in the Best Western Roker Hotel was good (especially the bathroom). |

The staff were outstanding, and appart from the closer of the extention and the changing of three rooms our stay was wonderfull Only from the rooms room 1 was perfect appart from noise out front but it was xmas and it was accepable |

On arrival we were upgraded from the lodge into the hotel complex. A room, although on the lower ground floor was ideal for our romantic getaway. Had a very nice meal in the Thai restaurant. Noisy people in rooms opposite ours, which hotel staff quickly put a stop too. |

Good staff, excellent breakfast I was not in the hotel i was in the lodge which is a building a few hundred yards away. It could be such a lovely place, the room i had was a nice size with its own shower and toilet and as it was at the front had a great view of the beach and the sea, but the decor of the room is dark and the electric lighting in the room is very poor. If this room could be refurbished with nice bright colours and better electric lighting it would be an excellent room. Also the hotel need to buy a decent vacuum cleaner as judging by the carpet the one they have doesnt work very well |

Very large room, quiet, nice view over the sea. Excellent buffet breakfast. No information given about where to book in. We were unable to get in the hotel at 11.15pm. Made enquiries at Best Western Hotel next door, and they had the keys. Guests should be notified to report to Reception at Best Western Roker Park, or notice on the hotel door. |

Being upgraded from the Lodge, on a cut-price package, was excellent. The Hotel was great and the breakfast excellent. We were in Room 137 which was fine in itself, but a bit noisy outside and next door on a Friday evening. |
