“comfortable and good value. Travelling on my own felt safe and able to relax.”
Marilyn,
Swansea
This modern hotel was built in 1980 to a Roman theme, and is situated on the outskirts of Cannock Chase. With easy access to the highways of the West Midlands, the Roman Way provides an ideal base for your stay. Built in a Roman theme, this hotel has a marble-tiled lobby and classical columns and busts and also has a comfortable lounge/bar offering an extensive range of menus. The restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere and is ideal for business and vacationing guests alike. The local tourist information offices are very helpful, and there are plenty of local sights, sounds and attraction to keep you occupied while you're there. There the hotel is well located for getting to Birmingham to the south, Staffordshire and the Potteries to the north or a visit to Alton Towers, with easy access to highway M6. There was black marks all over the carpet. The room was very dated. We booked a double room and were given 2 single beds. And the hotel would change the room. The milk in the room which for uht milk is difficult.

Although there was a mix up with the dates, your night porter sorted the problem and we had a good nights sleep. Thank you

We were warmly greeted on arrival and offered without asking a change from a twin to a double room with the explanation that a problem with the website meant this wasn't available on line. As the hotel happened not to be busy we were upgraded to the bridal suite which was an unexpected but delightful bonus. It was lovely with a sitting room and bedroom, a large shower room and double bathroom-bliss. The large four poster bed was so comfortable that we checked the make of the matress the next morning and will try to find one for home! The restaurant menu in the Bistro is limited but serves good freshly cooked food with friendly service. We will return.

It was ideally placed for visiting elderly friends. It was very cheap and the food in the Bistro was good - excellent value for money. Staff were very helpful.

i thought the staff were very helpful and the food once we recieved it was very good. The food for four of us took a long time to arrive. We were asked not to order between 7:30-8:00 as they were busy. We ordered at 8:10 and was told that it would take 45 mins 90 mins later it still had not turned up. It would have been nice if a member of staff approached us with the news instead of us having to chase them.

The dinner was well priced, we ordered room service and it came to us hot! The bed was very comfy. We had requested a room away from the road which was fulfilled. Though the room was ok for the money we spent, it was not at all like the lovely refurbished rooms shown on here. On walking past some of the rooms I would suggest asking for the 100 rooms. Much nicer, and I think that's where the pictures must have been taken. The carpet in our room, 221, just needed replacing...long ago

Food very good and staff helpful and friendly. Had to change rooms twice as both had showers that had no working thermostat so water was boiling hot. 2nd room got woken up at 1pm as radiator was on full blast and was oppressively hot in the room with no way of turning radiator down as was broken. Got moved to a third room which had twin beds and an ajoining door. This made the sound proofing to next doors room non existent and had no sleep with neighbour loudly snooring! They had a huge problem with the heating as the whole hotel was hot so much so that they had fans going in the restaurant for breakfast.

The location. The bed I tried to sleep in was broken. Tried sleeping on the floor, but got tired and irritated and asked to be moved. The bath creeked when I was taking a shower, I thought I'd fall through it. The toilet was shaky. They did change me to a single room from a double as they were busy, but then changed me again for the 2nd night of my stay. That was more comfortable, but the walls are paper thin. I'm now having back problems and I've not had them in a long time.

Good size room. Plenty of parking. Felt as if it needed some tlc. Window frames were in poor condition & this had resulted in a blackline across the bottom of the net curtains that just looked awful.
