Very welcoming, the food is excellent. Dinner is a must.
No dinner available the night we arrived although the restaurant should have been open. We would not have booked had we known this.
Luxury in the most unexpected place. Our host was very attentive. We would highly recommend a stay here.
The room, the view, the décor, the breakfast and home made marmalade are really very special.
The access road is full of pot holes deep enough to lose your car in them. We paid in cash and were short changed but didn't notice until we got to the car and were too embarrassed to say. It was an accident though. Our home made marmalade cost over the odds but it was worth it!
Everything - the super comfy beds, the fluffy towels and robes, the individuality and quirkiness of the property. The owners could not have been more charming and helpful. Also, breakfast was fantastic - fresh and plentiful!
There's nothing to dislike!
the room. the hotel. the welcome. the breakfast. the bathroom. the location. the sea.
Lovely rooms with lovely outlooks, perfectly sized bedrooms with ensuite facilities and everything you need. Hosts were lovely and breakfast have good options and cooked very well.
Our only down side was the road you have to take to get there, not a negative of the hotel, but I did end up with a torn tire. Watch out for deep holes and coastal conditions!
Room Location Facilities
The potholes on the last 400yards to the hotel
We had a small bedroom overlooking the sea and we were very impressed with the beautiful interior and all the nice little touches. The whole Hotel is beautifully decorated and the seaview was lovely. Our Hosts were extremely friendly and they gave us very good advice on the Restaurants in the area. We had the best breakfast of our holidays (conintental and cooked) and because we had to leave early on our last day got a packed breakfast with Croissants, orange juice and fresh fruit. We will definitely be back!
Next time we will book a room with a larger bed.
The hotel is in an unusually tranquil and peaceful spot. It's very comfortable with lots of reading material in the communal areas and places to sit and enjoy the view. The breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious.
Because of the location, you do need to drive out for a meal if you don't want to eat at the hotel.
Such a warm welcome from our kind and generous hosts was just the start of a wonderful stay at this wonderful place. The location is very special with the sea views and peace and quiet. Delicious breakfast in lovely sun room. Thank you both for your care and attention.
Having to leave!
Location, beautiful house, friendly owners and very welcoming. Along with superb choice for breakfast in relaxing atmosphere and outlook is just wonderful.
Due to location and the limited availability (it seemed) for taxis to eat out you would need to drive or take a long walk of upto an hour so it would have been nice for Romney Bay to offer a larger menu or even snack type menu as after a long day taking in all the wonderful sites around it would be quite nice just to relax back at base because it such a relaxing place.
All of it. The couple running the hotel were friendly and very helpful. Even making up a breakfast meal in a bag because I was unable to meet the breakfast timings. I would stay there again
Nothing to do with the hotel but the road leading to the hotel was very rough with huge potholes that has the potential to damage a car...maybe the council could be informed
Very comfortable room, nicely decorated with a good deal of thought given. General condition of hotel very well decorated and comfortable , with again, a lot of thought given re decoration. Good breakfast Would recommend for the above.
We had to leave at 9.30 am for an appointment at 9.45am on Sat morning, but the owner said breakfast not served until 9 am on Sat, although relented and said that we could go down at 8.45 am. Not really acceptable for a "hotel" Also, front door was always locked and so we always had to ring the bell for entry, with 11.30 pm as a deadline for entry! Why could we not be given a key automatically? Fixed menu for dinner, no choice. As very experienced travellers staying in many hotels, I suspect that this is an upmarket B & B rather than a hotel classification.
Everything was fab!
A lovely setting, dedicated and interested staff and a level of comfort and decor that was pleasantly surprising. Overall an excellent stay. Thank you.
Great location, superb non-intrusive service, good value for the location, excellent breakfast, well stocked honesty bar.
Cannot think of any negatives. Well done!
Very friendly but totally professional staff and overlooking a golf links in exceptional condition where the staff are equally as friendly and professional
Room was spacious with a lovely view out to sea and across the bay to Dover. Great amenities. Pleasant staff.
Was a bit formal for us. That's not a criticism, just that we are pretty laid back and informal.

Lovely location overlooking sea and golf course. Excellent choices at breakfast.
Potholed access road. Very small bathroom
A lovely hotel sitting in splendid isolation between Romney Marsh and the sea (The owner took the trouble to email me with directions beforehand and was welcoming and helpful when I arrived). The house is tastefully furnished and very comfortable - I had a large bedroom but there's also a lounge and first floor 'lookout room' to relax in, as well as an honesty bar. Dinner is only served on certain evenings. I wouldn't normally spend £45 on a meal, but on this occasion I was sorry to miss out.
Very welcoming host and lots of information. Beautiful setting on the sea front and excellent proximity to Eurotunnel. (Half and hour's drive).
We needed to leave the hotel at 8.30 a.m. but as breakfast wasn't served until 9a.m. we went without, although were offered fruit. I find this a little bewildering as presumably most of the guests staying here do so for its proximity to the ports etc. The timings were not mentioned in the website, otherwise we would not have booked. Also the price of breakfast was included in the room rates!
Wonderful setting, with great care taken to ensure our stay was a pleasure throughout. Details such as starched table linen, home-made marmalade, and a proper butter dish made this an exceptional hotel. Extremely high standard fixed course dinner was the highlight of our visit. Clinton, the chef, is very tallented.
Everything was fantastic - no negatives whatsoever.
We loved the comfort and friendly staff, one of the nicest short breaks we have ever had.
Nothing to dislike, it was perfect.
