Rookery Manor  

Nice staff

The room was clean but very very cold. Temperature below 0 outside and heating was switched off at night and not swietch on in the morning. Not acceptable. Restaurant was in a conservatory full of heater and non of them where working. I had dinner and breakfast with my coat on. The last thing you wan in a hotel is to be freezing cold. Not happy at all.

It was a perfect setting for a winter wedding.

The bathroom door did not fit because there was no ventilation which was also unhygenic. My card details were not entered properly by the reception staff prior to my arrival and as a consequence the hotel suggested that my card had been refused ( embarrassing) and not true when I checked with barclaycard.Same card worked properly on check out- no apology from staff.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were really nice, I had lovely view of the snow garden from my room, the gardens were beautifully landscaped.

The rooms would have been far too expensive for me, if I didn't get them at the discounted price. And I would have had to of booked elseware.

Nice garden and layout.

Room smelt damp mould on walls just inside the entrance door. Breakfast fried eggs hard and crispy, not freashly cooked. We spent one night there for a wedding.

Lovely staff, and the spa was fab, although recommend you book treatments as I couldnt get in, but used the hydro pool and hot tub and thoroughly enjoyed. Great setting and the gardens are beautiful.

Needs a bit more maintanence in the rooms, starting to look a bit tired in places.

Enjoyed our stay - although only a stop over as a break in our journey from St Ives to Cheshire so arrived tired. Family visited Wookey Hole the following day and had a fabulous time whilst myself and wife visited Wells and enjoyed that prior to getting back on the motorway.

If we had stayed longer and enjoyed the beautiful gardens we would have been disappointed by the traffic noise - but cannot be helped. Was a bit disappointed with the loud fan in the bathroom and the fact that the bathroom smelled a little bit of urine!!! when it had been closed up for a little time. Didn't spoil our stay though as we werent in the room that much.

The room was lovely and clean and well presented and I had a comfortable night's sleep. The staff were very helpful.

General environment was lovely - we stayed in the house which was really well appointed and comfortable

Motorway noise was audible although not intrusive when inside but really quite load when outside - especially at rush hour. However, we knew the location before we stayed and this wasn't any real problem to us.

The grounds and location

My short stay at Rookery Manor was very enjoyable, from the friendly welcome to helpful answers to several questions, I had requested a room with a view of the delightful gardens and was not disappointed. I would recommend the hotel and would like to stay there again. Please thank all staff especially the gardener/s.Their hard work did not go unnoticed and was much appreciated.
