Rookery Manor Hotel & Spa  

Friendly and relaxing welcome, grounds were beautiful and even with it's close location to the M5 the noise is at a minimum. Will definitely stay again. The spa is also very relax with friendly staff on hand.

Maybe could do with a little more local information in the rooms, eg. other places to visit, eat etc.

Really handy location, lovely grounds and the room was superb. Only had breakfast but that was a full English of good quality ingredients. The spa (reduced price for hotel guests) was excellent with really friendly staff.

Some motorway noise as it is next to the m5, however the room was well glazed so you could not hear it once inside the bedroom.

Nice gardens, clean rooms, good service.

Motorway is load, small menu and expensive bad wine, use of spa isn't free for guests which it should be in my opinion if you have paid for the room.

We stayed in the old house which was very nicely decorated. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the beautiful garden. The staff were very friendly and attentive, but we were one of only two couples staying the night. For the price we paid (a Sunday night), the stay was good value. Breakfast was good

We stayed in room 22. The bathroom was small and narrow with no ventilation, hence it was very steamy with the shower going. In fact the chrome shaver socket had suffered from this humidity as it was rusted, as was the chrome radiator. The shower head could have done with a thorough clean. There was a fair amount of noise from the motorway which is right alongside the house. The categories of rooms available on Booking.com didn't match the hotel literature. I'm not sure of the difference (if any) between a standard and a superior room

Beautiful grounds which have been very well maintained. I love the wood carved features in the garden. Room was quite small, although the bathroom was a good size. The main house is very well maintained too and is tastefully decorated.

Choice of food on the evening Restaurant menu was limited. When I had made my choice, I was told it was not available. On making a second choice, I asked for mash potato instead of a jacket potato with my salmon but was told that the chef said it would take too long to cook mash so I had chips instead. There were also only 2 very basic desserts available. Although there were many rooms empty, I was not offered an upgrade when checking in.

Family room - not just an extra put up bed so suitable for teenager. Superb food very friendly service

the manor was everything it said it would be,we travel a lot and it was nice to stay somewhere that did not disappoint in any way,lovely staff,breakfast lovely,bed and room very comfortable,very good value for money,lovely gardens,clean tidyand very enjoyable stay thank you we will be staying again

The bathroom door did not fit because there was no ventilation which was also unhygenic. My card details were not entered properly by the reception staff prior to my arrival and as a consequence the hotel suggested that my card had been refused ( embarrassing) and not true when I checked with barclaycard.Same card worked properly on check out- no apology from staff.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were really nice, I had lovely view of the snow garden from my room, the gardens were beautifully landscaped.

The rooms would have been far too expensive for me, if I didn't get them at the discounted price. And I would have had to of booked elseware.

Lovely staff, and the spa was fab, although recommend you book treatments as I couldnt get in, but used the hydro pool and hot tub and thoroughly enjoyed. Great setting and the gardens are beautiful.

Needs a bit more maintanence in the rooms, starting to look a bit tired in places.

Enjoyed our stay - although only a stop over as a break in our journey from St Ives to Cheshire so arrived tired. Family visited Wookey Hole the following day and had a fabulous time whilst myself and wife visited Wells and enjoyed that prior to getting back on the motorway.

If we had stayed longer and enjoyed the beautiful gardens we would have been disappointed by the traffic noise - but cannot be helped. Was a bit disappointed with the loud fan in the bathroom and the fact that the bathroom smelled a little bit of urine!!! when it had been closed up for a little time. Didn't spoil our stay though as we werent in the room that much.
