Great size rooms lovely view from the room called October. Dinner was excellent and refined dining.
The fact breakfast was very late on the sunday. I would have complained but it was very busy.
The hotel is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. It is very comfortable. All the staff were very helpful.
The service was a little disjointed at breakfast on my second morning. I also had to wait a while for someone to answer my call to order room service, however the food was delivered quickly and it was very well prepared.
breakfast service slow
Arrived at 700pm direct from Irish Sea ferry not at all pleased when we were unable to have dinner in the restaurant For this reason and this reason only we will avoid on future trips .
Grounds Location Good public areas Staff
Poor quality COOKED breakfast Expensive drinks Poor coffee in room Limited meals in restaurant Cobwebs in room
Excellent relaxing break, can't wait to stay again
Staff were generally helpful.
Level of cleanliness was poor. Dirty sick marks on crib. Many items in the room were tired and/or broken. Not worthy of the £185 per night price tag. The place is way past it's prime and very poor value for money.
I'd mentioned it was a present for my partner's birthday and asked if we could have a nice room. The room was fabulous and there was a birthday card, balloon and bowl of fresh fruit. Very much appreciated.
We had the most wonderful stay. It was the day after our wedding, so the start of our honeymoon. The November room was fabulous with the most amazing view and comfortable bed. The meal in the evening was perfect and the breakfast had everything you would require. Lovely stay.
There was nothing I didn't like....apart from the lady in the pool who thought she was training for the Olympics complete with swim hat, goggles and butterfly stroke! It was impossible to relax because of her grrr so we had to get out of the jacuzzi. No reflection on the hotel obviously just an inconsiderate guest sigh!
Superb location , extremely comfortable bed with air conditioning very welcome . Large bath and shower nice touch. Breakfast Staff friendly and helpful.
Had evening meal in 2013 after car Fest where the entire experience was excellent . Sadly this year the food was good but of a lower standard and we felt , overpriced . Allow a large budget if your planning on drinking in the bar . £12.50 for a gin and tonic ! Restaurant staff in the evening were not as attentive as the breakfast staff , and it was difficult to catch anyone's eye for service.
The hotel room was comfortable and very clean. It was a nice touch for staff to come round in the evening to check tea, coffee, milk essentials etc. Reception staff very efficient and helpful. Nice atmosphere in bar lounge area. Breakfast was excellent, superb choice.
Cost of drinks in bar too high, large glass of red wine £9.99! Food in lounge bar expensive and quality did not match the price.
Spa facilities location and hotel in general very relaxed.
menu option limited.
Excellent room. Good food, especially breakfast.
Most enjoyable stay we only did overnight stay and breakfast. We will come back for a weekend stay and use the facilities to the full.
We didn't stay longer
Beautiful location and building. The best hotel I have ever stayed in. Stunning all round luxury
The hotel was lovely. We didn't get to use the spa facilities but hopefully we will next. We had a great stay. :)
Nice atmosphere - quiet with lovely grounds.
Room was noisy first thing in morning as was downstairs and adjacent to a rear exit door - lots of trolleys from 6am.
Everything. The room was beautiful and comfortable. Little touches such as the high quality tea and biscuits in the rooms with availabity if fresh milk. This is my second stay and will be back
Most staff friendly and helpful. Very comfortable room, lovely surroundings.
Food served in bar. Ordered salmon with dressed salad, Mediterranean cous cous, plus separate side helping of new potatoes. It came all on one plate, 3 small new pots, and NO cous cous ! When I complained, it was taken away, and brought back with cous cous and a seperate dish of new potatoes but one of these was totally black and rotten, and unfit for human consumption !! I complained again, obviously, but all I got was an apparent apology from the chef conveyed via the barman. I was pretty shocked and would not have expected this from a hotel of this calibre. Barman did not seem to know how to handle the situation - not his fault but you have to question his training. I would have thought some senior management would have put in an appearance given such a serious lapse in food quality. When I mentioned it next morning, reception staff were more understanding and took money off my bill, but overall it rather spoilt my stay. Decided to eat in the bar because the restaurant menu was, in effect 2 table d'hote menus, one at £37 and one at £52, irrespective of whether you wanted 1,2, or 3 courses !
Perfect location, perfect retreat will definitely be back
Great location. Very relaxed atmosphere. Excellent staff.
Menu choices limited.
A wonderful atmosphere throughout the hotel with exceptional staff & food.

Accommodation is in a separate building. Unfortunately I got scalded by a faulty shower in the spa, with no recompense or goodwill offered.
