About 1 mile (1.6 km) from Nantwich and 5 miles (8 km) from Crewe, this hotel is a comfy base with an on-site restaurant offering good-value meals.

A brand new hotel now with free high-speed internet access, modern power showers, satellite TV, free parking and contemporary rooms at great-value rates.
Score from 806 reviews Very good
Situated in picturesque Tarporley, this 16th-century inn is just a 15-minute drive from historic Chester. Guests can enjoy home-cooked food, real ales and free Wi-Fi in the charming restaurant.
Score from 188 reviews Fabulous
The house and grounds are spectacular
Couple details needed looking at like the shower leaked and there was a light bulb gone. But nothing that spoiled the stay
Location is nice in the countryside. A quiet hotel also.
The actual common guest areas are quite small. It is a small hotel with a large conference block attached. No pots of tea or coffee at breakfast is a nuisance. Up-selling the most expensive gin at the bar without saying that it is 2.5 times more expensive than all the rest is sneaky.
This hotel has entered my top ten in the country. A fantastically run restaurant and bar with a fabulous atmosphere and good food. A little pricey but worth it.
The Building is lovely, and the beds very comfortable.
I wasn't booked in;even though I had booked with Booking.com on 9/10/2014. I had regular updates,I was put in a smaller room, the receptionist was very snotty and the mini fridge flickered, good job I don't suffer from epilepsy!!
staff were good; food was excellent
Our room was on the top floor at the back of the main building overlooking the entrance to the very busy function suites so it was quite noisy outside till quite late. Also, the room, which wasn't overlarge, was extremely hot and stuffy with no air conditioning so either windows open with all of the noise or room too hot to sleep. Then we were woken by a member of staff clanging bins under our window at 7am on a sunday morning!
Comfortable and clean room. Location
What was once a small hotel, it has become too large and 'corporate' in my opinion. Sleep was disturbed by wedding party on the Friday night and on the Saturday evening it was not possible to eat in the restaurant as it was fully booked. This is the first time in many years of staying in 4/5 star hotels that as a hotel guest I was not able to eat at the hotel and had to travel for 20 mins to have dinner.
I paid £166 for an over night stay in an executive double room which lacked what was advertised on the website for that type of room, very disappointing
Gym Pool, steam room etc Excellent rooms and great grounds.
Bar menu is very limited and restaurant is a bit too fancy if you are away on business and eating alone.
Great location, very friendly efficient staff.
TV remote drove me nuts resorted to pressing the button on the box in the end. Menu is limited and restricted by a set two categories at £37 and £52 for 3 courses.
Everything, rooms fab
Excellent spa & rooms are lovely!
Needed a maitre'd in the restaurant. Staff were lovely & food divine, just needed a bit more control around the service!
The room was lovely, and the bed great. Air conditioning best so far in UK. Great shower
We had requested lactose free milk for a dietary requirement( not a lifestyle choice) this was not available at breakfast for cereal or coffee and we were told they couldn't get it. A 5 star hotel should be able to get this as its sold in M&S and Aldi to name a few. People with dietary needs beware
Beautiful hotel and spa excellent food and very helpful staff
Great size rooms lovely view from the room called October. Dinner was excellent and refined dining.
The fact breakfast was very late on the sunday. I would have complained but it was very busy.
The hotel is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. It is very comfortable. All the staff were very helpful.
The service was a little disjointed at breakfast on my second morning. I also had to wait a while for someone to answer my call to order room service, however the food was delivered quickly and it was very well prepared.
Everything I wanted for my perfect 24 hour break away was provided, including an excellent breakfast delivered to my room at 6am (as I was going on a long marathon training run in Winsford!) and I was able to use the spa when I returned even though I had already checked out. The spa was lovely- had a massage and used the pool, hydrotherapy, sauna and steam room on both days. Didn't really want to leave!
The restaurant meal was very nice but also extremely expensive- a minimum of £37 for a very fancy three course meal- there didn't appear to be a cheaper option. I enjoyed what I chose but felt the choice was fairly limited- 4 options per course and I would probably not have enjoyed the others. Great service though.
breakfast service slow
Arrived at 700pm direct from Irish Sea ferry not at all pleased when we were unable to have dinner in the restaurant For this reason and this reason only we will avoid on future trips .
Grounds Location Good public areas Staff
Poor quality COOKED breakfast Expensive drinks Poor coffee in room Limited meals in restaurant Cobwebs in room
Excellent relaxing break, can't wait to stay again
Staff were generally helpful.
Level of cleanliness was poor. Dirty sick marks on crib. Many items in the room were tired and/or broken. Not worthy of the £185 per night price tag. The place is way past it's prime and very poor value for money.
I'd mentioned it was a present for my partner's birthday and asked if we could have a nice room. The room was fabulous and there was a birthday card, balloon and bowl of fresh fruit. Very much appreciated.
We had the most wonderful stay. It was the day after our wedding, so the start of our honeymoon. The November room was fabulous with the most amazing view and comfortable bed. The meal in the evening was perfect and the breakfast had everything you would require. Lovely stay.
There was nothing I didn't like....apart from the lady in the pool who thought she was training for the Olympics complete with swim hat, goggles and butterfly stroke! It was impossible to relax because of her grrr so we had to get out of the jacuzzi. No reflection on the hotel obviously just an inconsiderate guest sigh!
Superb location , extremely comfortable bed with air conditioning very welcome . Large bath and shower nice touch. Breakfast Staff friendly and helpful.
Had evening meal in 2013 after car Fest where the entire experience was excellent . Sadly this year the food was good but of a lower standard and we felt , overpriced . Allow a large budget if your planning on drinking in the bar . £12.50 for a gin and tonic ! Restaurant staff in the evening were not as attentive as the breakfast staff , and it was difficult to catch anyone's eye for service.
