We had a very relaxing stay in a Deluxe room. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the pool and spa facilities were excellent. Will definitely visit again.
So pleased that we were allocated the lovely 'March' as our room. Everything had been thought of to enable a relaxing and pleasant stay. Excellent breakfast.
Limited choice for evening meal. One or two waiting staff not up to the job. Will bring my own pillows next time, far too hard for my liking.
Everything was fantastic
The views were amazing and the actual hotel was beautiful inside and out! Great value! Great service!
The gym was closed for renovation and there wasn't any notification on the advert and noone advised us when we arrived!
The location and the hotel being a Historic House. Was very comfortable. The swimming pool was impressive.
The staff were too slow in carrying out their duties, dining tables were not cleared in good time, seemed generally unorganised in the restaurant.
We loved the spa facilities, well worth a visit! Lovely and warm, with heated flooring. We also had a lovely room, the bed was massive and extremely comfortable.
Make sure you book for the fine dining, as when we arrived there was no availability! Obviously this was my error, however I did think this wouldn't be a problem on a Thursday night. However credit where credit is due, a member of staff (Brian), did manage to get us a space in the restaurant! :-)
Only stayed one night but was sorry to leave and hope to return soon!
The peaceful location is perfect to unwind from everyday stress.
It's a shame that there isn't a walk way between the hotel and the spa area.
Excellent bed in spacious room. In the evening we were offered a turn down service and extra bottles of water which we needed due to extremely high temperature in room
the bathroom was extremely hot and the heated towel rail could not be adjusted as the thermostatic controller was missing!!!!!. The main dining room and bar were soulless and dimly lit and we opted for room service instead.
Most of the staff
Misleading distance from Crewe. Average breakfast, poor coffee, slow service
Room very comfortable. Staff very friendly. Breakfast delicious. Parking no problem.
Toilet did not flush every time.
service, quality of food, the best hotel breakfast I have ever had.
Lovely setting and characterful building. Excellent breakfast with great countryside views from our table. Spa and pool facilities first class. Free wifi always welcome. Friendly and cheery staff.
We didn't require a full evening meal so opted for some sandwiches and a drink in the bar. Nice, but a bit pricey for a couple of slices of filled bread and some salad leaves.
The staff were fab the room was lush the breakfast was to die for and the grounds were amazing.
There was nothing me and Di did not like the whole experience was amazing. The next time I go to visit my son and his family in Winsford we will most definitely be staying at the Rookery.
Swimming pool Nature around hotel
Distance from town They broke my electric shaver when I was out and didn't even say it to me or apologise afterwards when I wrote to them.
Lovely hotel set in lovely grounds; very cosy. Bedroom in the old house was comfortable and more than adequate size wise. I requested a quite room and this is what we got. We ate in the bar as the restaurant was busy; food in the bar was lovely as was the ambiance. Lovely breakfast the following morning also. Unfortunately we did not get time to use the facilities but will go back and do so another time. I couldn't fault our stay.
The shower was tricky; it was over the bath, attached to the bath taps and was not secure at all. Very high bath to climb into when taking a shower. Towels were flat and hard as was the dressing gowns; I think these need to be updated.
Location,comfort, general quality standard
Our room was in a separate block(nobody told us)and we were soaked getting to the dinning room and back, having to walk (run) between blocks. On a wet cold night it was not a pleasant experience especially for my wife
We stayed for one night and thought the hotel, room, staff and food were all excellent. We couldn't fault a thing. We will be back. The Spa was great too except the steam room was too cool.
The steam room, not sure it was working properly in the spa.
The room, once heated was comfortable. The breakfast was good.
Reception appalling. Cold walk outside to room. Cold, unwelcoming room.
Staff were pleasant and courteous. Facilities were of a very high standard. Room was large and the bed was lovely. Good choice for breakfast.
Not complaints but... Not a wide selection of channels on the television and although it might have been lovely, the food was so expensive we didn't feel we could afford to eat evening meals there.
Nice room. Good service
Noise from people leaving the function room at 1am. Not a lot the hotel could do about it.
Nice staff in restaurant. Old part of building characterful
Our rooms were in the modern annex (not shown on website) and could of been any mediocre hotel costing much less. The bar lounge are seemed neglected.
The house and grounds are spectacular
Couple details needed looking at like the shower leaked and there was a light bulb gone. But nothing that spoiled the stay
Location is nice in the countryside. A quiet hotel also.
The actual common guest areas are quite small. It is a small hotel with a large conference block attached. No pots of tea or coffee at breakfast is a nuisance. Up-selling the most expensive gin at the bar without saying that it is 2.5 times more expensive than all the rest is sneaky.
This hotel has entered my top ten in the country. A fantastically run restaurant and bar with a fabulous atmosphere and good food. A little pricey but worth it.
