The genuine welcome when we arrived, the amazingly comfortable beds and beautifully appointed rooms, the really interesting tour of the vineyard with Lorna, who told us all about the grapes and how they grow them. Then Graham told us how the wine was made, and we had a tasting of the amazingly good sparkling wines made at Terlingham. Lorna kindly booked a table for dinner for us in Folkestone, and arranged for a taxi; if we hadn't gone out to eat, we could have stayed for bread and cheese and the rest of the wine! And we had a delicious breakfast, and the tunnel was only 10 minutes away, as Lorna had promised.
We used The Winery on route to Europe, on arrival we were met by the lady owner & shown to our fabulous room, where there was a complimentary bottle of their sparkling wine waiting for us, how lovely is that!! we were a little late so sadly missed the tour of the vineyard...but we will catch that next time as we WILL be returning. Breakfast was delightful so fresh & healthy just what you need to continue your journey. A little gem, thank you we will see you next time.
Absolutely nothing to dislike!!
The hosts; the hospitality; the room; the food; the wine; the location. All truly excellent.
Truthfully, nothing. We got lost getting there (our fault): an entry on the signboard at the beginning of the vineyard driveway to confirm the 'Rooms at the winery' location would have saved us a bit of to and fro.
The friendliness of the owners, the tour of the vineyard and the very informative wine tasting session. And the packed breakfast for our early morning channel tunnel departure was truly superb.
That we had to leave so early, would love to have stayed longer!
relaxing, tasteful décor, peaceful surroundings, friendly welcome and wine tasting too! couldn't fault it.
Only 3 rooms in this delightful oasis! Lorna and Graham made us feel that we had stayed there many times, even though this was our first. The room was extremely well furnished with a SuperKing bed and everything was very new and of good quality. Very quiet location so a good sleep was assured.
We had just driven 13hours from Spain and needed something close to eurotunnel. We arrived about midnight lorna had text me the codes to get in and it was such a beautiful room pure luxury. Breakfast stated continental but it was so much more smoked salmon fresh fruit etc. I would highly recommend this.
The country location and grounds, friendly hosts, quality bedding and decor, spacious bathroom and shower, delicious cold breakfast, tassimo coffee, cake, complimentary wine and cheese
The duvet was rather heavy and shower plug blocked.
The hostess, Lorna, was outstanding. The vineyard tour and subsequent wine tasting was a great surprise. Book early as this is still relatively unknown
We loved the sumptuous rooms, and their setting in these peaceful grounds. Our hosts were welcoming and enthusiastic about their venture, and supplied us with a generous breakfast. We loved the whole experience.
We found nothing to dislike.
We liked everything about the Winery. Luxurious bedroom and bathroom. A warm and friendly welcome from the owners. Fabulous location when travelling through the Channel tunnel.
very nice and welcoming hosts, Lorna and Graham. cake and later sparkling wine and cheese on arrival. the tour through the vineyard. the room was very comfortable.
The welcome the vineyard tour and tasting the room everything about the place but more importantly the people. & the personal service.
This is a hidden gem. The hosts are so warm and friendly. The room is spacious and the breakfast platter is just heavenly!
Nothing at all
Loved the room, bed, bathroom, friendly hosts, breakfast, welcoming complimentary coffee/tea, petit fours, bread & cheeses, bottle of bubbles in our room and the wine tasting!
There's nothing not to like
Superb location. Wonderful hospitality. Lovely breakfast. Great enthusiasm for wine making - and it tasted excellent!
A beautiful location and really outstanding hospitality. Couldn't recommend it more.
The room was absolutely beautiful with an extra long super king size bed. The hosts are extremely gracious. Breakfast was amazing - boiled eggs, toast, croissant, cheese, meats, smoked salmon! The setting is lovely - in a winery with excellent views to the coast.
Graham and Lorna are very friendly and helpful, and ensure that everything is to your satisfaction. The rooms in this brand-new hotel are equipped with first-quality furniture, coffee/tea maker and bathroom facilities. Breakfast is great and plentiful, but does not include full English. The location is very quiet, since the winery is at the end of a long cul-de-sac.
I think an additional small table and a couple of chairs in the room would be beneficial. There's lots of space in the room, and cards and a backgammon board are in the room.
Everything! The wine tasting was very informative, the rooms were just lovely, breakfast was delicious and the location was perfect, and Lorna and Graham's hospitality was outstanding..
Very friendly owners and fun location.
From our warm welcome to the whole time we stayed at the Winery, delicious breakfasts and amazing venue together with the feeling that every guest is treated so very well indeed.
Excellent stay, first class room and bathroom, delicious continental breakfast, very attentive hosts. Lovely bonus of extremely informative vineyard tour and wine tasting, inclusive in room rate.
