Bed was woeful - totally uncomfortable, like two camp beds pushed together. Breakfast was disgusting!

Great restaurant for evening meal. Used a Groupon, which was good value for adults. Would only recommend for Stag or hen parties as advertised at the hotel. Why you would want to do this in Dunfermline, not sure? Nice-ish rooms, mouldy bathroom not so good. Stayed with family of 5 on a Tuesday night. No bar or lounge area at this location for use of hotel guest'S. If you were not in the room you were standing in the street! Breakfast service from ignorant waitress scores 0 from 10

Not alot Lack of service,no protectors on pillows or matress.Casual approach to bed making and cleaning. Didnt like the hot water pots for tea and ccoffee making and cooking own toast, Thats fine in a big hotel. Didnt like the way that the tables were laid for breakfast, no place mats, no side plates; too much like a cafe. Food was served cold and no breakfast menus were put out.this hotel juist didnt feel like a hotel at all, and we have stayed in many over a number of years.Needs someone to take charge of the business.

Liked the comfy beds, good shower and bathroom. Decor was ok. tidy room with all the basics covered, staff were good and friendly, nightclub and bar next door was free to residents as well, nice touch There were dirty marks on the wall where the control for the air conditioner was held on by velcro. Dirty marks on various walls Room was warm and air con kept coming on and off all night, instructions needed. No car parking, however the nearest one was free between 18:00 and 08:00 but surely a deal with the council for a ticket to put in your window for the two or three hours in the morning could be done No drinks menu in room, although the food one was there, niggly points i know but needs mentioned for the money it costs

Very satisfied with all aspects and enjoyed evening meal at italian restaurant within hotel. Yes, the music from nightclub was just audible from my room, but was not disturbed by it, and had i not been so tired ( and in my 50's, - the beat sounded a little too 'house' for me, haha )i may well gone there too !

Great to be able to stay in one of the few remaining parts of old Dunfermline, and so much nicer than a soulless box on a ring road! Wonderful ancient exterior with a modern city hotel within. We asked for a quiet room on booking - no problem. Staff friendly and helpful (although possibly a bit understaffed at w/ends). Restaurant excellent: great Italian food and the full Scottish breakfasts were just as good. Our second stay and we'd certainly stay there again. Not too keen on the system which only switches on the power to the room, including the heating, when the key card is "in the slot". So the room was very chilly on arrival, although it did warm up fairly quickly. Moreover, that meant there was no way one of us could stay in the room while the other went off with the key. This was awkward when, for example, I was in the bath when my husband got back from an errand - he had to wait a while till I emerged and could hear him hammering on the room door!

The staff were excellent and made us feel welcome immediately. The room was very clean and airy and we had use of a tv, dvd player and free internet. There is also a restaurant attached to the hotel, unfortunately we did not have time to use it but the menu looked very good. I can definately recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Knockhill Racing Circuit as this is only 15 minutes away. The only drawback that we encountered was the hotel does not have its own private car park, and you have to use the nearby car parking. It certainly would not stop me from going to this hotel again.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, it had a nice relaxed atmosphere. The air conditioning unit was outside our bedroom window and was operating the whole time, okay during the day but irritating at night, kept me awake the first night. Also no parking facilities if you want to leave the car and take the train or bus into Edinburgh for the day, i,e, maximum stay was 3 hours in the car park behind the hotel.

The staff were very friendly and very helpful with every request. Nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately the hotel has a club attached that attracts a few rowdies. This didn't bother me at all, but people wishing for peace and quiet would need to specify when booking that they wish their room to be far away from the noise.

The room was well finished and clean. The noise from the night club next door was a bit too much. Didn't know that it was attached to hotel although not an issue if you had some extra sound proofing.
