Score from 354 reviews Very good
After a horrible journey on the M25 and M20, this was a little oasis of a warm welcome, good tasty food and a spacious room for the night.
Nothing at all
Nice stop-over for the Tunnel. They next time I would arrive a day early and visit Canterbury. Good food and Beer.
pub character, good food, lovely village, handy for tunnel
a bit concerned re security being on ground floor, but probably OK.
Excellent bedrooms good pub food and beers
Very friendly and helpful host. Fantastic food.
No reception for Vodafone but I was given access to pub landline so we got round it.
The bar area was built in the1500s and was amazing, the food was very good and room whilst old was clean and large.
The breakfast staff was late opening the doors by over 1/2 hour.
The rooms were an excellent size. I believe that the hotel offers an excellent value for money room in a reasonable location. The food served in the restaurant was excellent and fairly priced. Staff were polite and helpful. Happy to recommend this hotel for others.
We wanted to be near the channel tunnel in a place with charm and not a modern hotel, this was ideal, breakfast was exceptional considering the inclusive price of the room & breakfast, we will return!!
Lovely character inn great room. Spacious comfortable with all amenities. Would loved to have stayed longer. Convenient base to Canterbury
Everything, and an outstanding cooked breakfast
The accommodation was spacious and clean with plenty of drinks provided and toiletries (in case you forget any). The food is excellent, with a lot of it locally sourced. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The Channel Tunnel is only 10 mins away on a very direct route. Couldn't be better.
Left early for the tunnel so missed the cooked breakfast, however, the breakfast tray we had was excellent. The location is great, quiet, picturesque with great staff and close to the tunnel. Superb!
Getting up early and missing breakfast
Courtyard made it feel more secure for parking with being on a motorbike. Had to leave at 5.30 to be at Eurotunnel so were offered a continental breakfast which was taken to our room ready for the morning. It consisted of porridge, fresh fruit, cereal bars, croissants, pan au chocolate and bottles of fresh juice. Good meals and friendly helpful staff. Large comfy rooms with tea & coffee etc. Would highly recommend.
Friendly staff Large room and bath room Private parking
*Lovely, welcoming, helpful staff -even found me feather pillows! *Very Comfortable indeeed in a beautiful luxury room *Breakfast excellent *Evening meal was interesting menu+superb quality & value. *I just want to tell everyone to stay here or eat here if you're local!! *Hope I'll be able to stay again for it was worth the 12hr, 300+ miles drive!
No quibbles at all. The Rose & Crown at Elham is a perfect place to stay in a beautiful village! Thank you everyone there for looking after us so well.
We loved everything about this stay. Welcoming people, delicious food, very comfortable bed and good old English hospitality. John and Sue are lovely friendly hosts and Sue is an excellent chef. Her Chocolate and Mint Cheesecake was fantastic and the breakfast menu was enormous and the food delicious. A walk around the village is a must if you have time.
The rooms were spacious and well equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast delicious.
Not a thing- it was brilliant
Quiet hotel in countryside, only stayed for one night. Room spacious and clean.
Lack of signal for phone but this isn't the hotel's fault.
The welcome from the landlord. The spacious accommodation. The breakfast in the morning and the lovely and polite lady serving. Other things: well just about everything
Excellent and cheerful service, also efficient. The ambience and location were excellent and exactly what we wanted.
The price per room was more that you had indicated to me. You had indicated a total for two rooms of £120. On arrival, I had to pay £150. This was good value but I would have liked to know this beforehand.
Beautiful quiet village. Friendly locals and staff were very trusting and respectful. Lack of Wi-Fi is unfortunate but was nice to have a break from the mundane.
Lack of phone signal was a bit of a pain but can't be helped in a small rural village. Meeting up with friends meant I had to walk out of the village numerous times to make phone calls. But no real problem
Room 3 as it looks in the pictures very large and airy; exposed beams ......would think it would be a bit cold `out of season` though. Nice furnishings. Breakfast freshly cooked - nice breakfast room separate to main part of pub
Shower in room 3 very dodgy and verging on dangerous. Staff courteous enough but slightly disinterested. Evening meal -reheated food; adequate but quite disappointing - :(
Cheery welcome. Nice room with lots of space. Good beer. Enjoyable meal at very reasonable price.
Nothing not to like for us.
Easy access to the Channel Tunnel. Excellent resturant and good breakfast
There was nothing I didn't like.
Absolutely stunning location and lovely accomodation. Breakfast was fantastic. Will defo return with my children next time as central to lots of attractions! 11 out of 10!!!
