“Good road hotel for one night stop in a quiet place”
Guillermo,
Alicante
The Rose and Crown is close to Princes Risborough and just a few miles from High Wycombe. A major investment by its new owners has transformed this former wayside inn. It has been completely restyled and extended to create a 16-bedroom hotel that is already becoming known for its individuality and contemporary character. The new, modern interior together with its friendly management style, make it a venue equally appealing to local diners, businesses, weekend visitors and to those celebrating a special event. The decor was modern and fresh. The breakfast was tasty. The room size was very small, the room tv's did not work, the milk in the room was off ! The sink drain stank but the position of the room being above the kitchen meant that all through the night there was a constant drone from either the extraction fan or the refrigeration unit!! The shower had no power which meant showering took a long time. The road noise was rather constant but once the window was closed you could not hear it but you could stilla get the noise from the kitchen. All these things can be fixed and if they were then this would be a good place to stay if you had business in town. It would not be ideal for family or longer than one night.o

This hotel was excellent !! first class service, nothing to much trouble for them. Smiling faces !! I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Excellent value and the food was delicious. The ladies toilet in the bar was a bit smelly, damp smell.

Convenient as it was near my Aunts who was celebrating her 102 birthday The garden was lovely as it was very hot weather whilst we were there in October We would not stay there again. The room was ok but wew asked for a quiet room which they have not got being on a busy road & trains pass at the back. We had a choice of room we choose the larger but the window lock was broken. On saturday we were told there was no food on sunday evening Ok But what they didnt say was the place was closed from 4pm Sunday so we went to another hotel to spend the evening as there was one chair in the room. When we came back the place was in darkness !!! The room on the Sunday was not cleaned so no milk or toilet rolls. I did ask for our bill to be adjusted which they generously did I did say I thought they ought to close altogetheron Sunday evenings. If I had been alone I would not have stayed.

The room was fine if not a little tired. It was quiet which was important to me.The breakfast was excellent. I didn't think the bathroom in my room was very practical with an oval bath that had taps one end and an overflow the other meaning it couldn't be used as a bath to relax in. The shower was fitted to the wall at waist level so I could not stand under it. There was no shower curtain and I mentioned to the staff that the water in the shower/bath was sacalding hot and needed to be addressed.

I did enjoy ath the Rose & Crown Hotel, the Room 6 is lovley comfortable and relax and I picked the Bouchures, it was my room no 6. Yes I would recommented to everyone about this Hotel. Good News I will be able to stay overnight next year because there is another Wedding. Hope the same room 6 I am a little disappointment that the Waitress is unaware the I am deaf lady who stayed overnight at the Rose & Crown. And also there is no ones on duties. How I tell them because of the emgerency!

Friendly staff and good food. The Rose & Crown had no record of the booking, fortunately a spare room was made availbe. You need to do better in confirming the booking is registered with the Hotel/Inn.

Very friendly staff and a good cooked breakfast The bed wasn't very comfortable and we were in a room above the kitchen which was. Like being in a furnace. Somehow the booking got mixed up and we ended up in a double room instead of family room we didn't get any sleep with our 3year old son as he was on a very uncomfortable camp bed. It was a shame because think if we had been in a family room we'd have enjoyed our stay! We stayed in room 9 which should be closed down as not fit for purpose.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms although a little small were clean and fresh and suited our purpose. We went with family and had five rooms between us and were put in rooms all fairly close together which was nice. Ate in the restaurant and thought the food was excellent and staff very friendly and attentive. Plenty of car parking which is good. In all, very good value for money as breakfast was included and was also very good. Would definately stay there again and would certainly recommend to anyone. Was a little noisy due to being close to a road which was fairly busy even during the night. Had between us a few gripes about the rooms, but nothing much and certainly not worth complaining about due to the amount we paid.

Dining facilities nicely presented. Generally a balanced setting for guests at the bar and quiet dining. While some problems occurred the staff endeavoured to rectify this. Felt the rooms were a little 'tired' .... certain facilities could benefit from upgrading.
