No heating on, could do with putting on about 6.30 to make this place perfect
Roaring fires Pub design and features Good quality food. Helpful staff.
Nothing not to like, clean, comfortable, good value and well located. Staff are excellent.
Modern comfortable and friendly staff, food was excellent too
Parking was difficult
Atmosphere of the pub was lovely
Nothing to dislike
Cosy village pub, helpful and professional staff, rainwater shower, comfortable room, excellent food, we ate there in the evening as well, as specials board changed daily.
Only a couple of small gripes that did not spoil our stay...television reception not good in the evening, and cleaning lady using rather a lot of disinfectant to clean while we were eating breakfast on our last morning..I wish she had done something else until we had finished!
Friendly staff, good food, lovely pint of SA
Breakfast starts at 8:00 :(
Staff were very helpful. We needed to cut short our visit for personal reasons and this was arranged without any problem
Very welcoming pub. Lovely open fire and good food
A hairdryer would be handy
Very Friendly - excellent service - good food - open fire
no sugar with coffee maker
Rooms comfortable and clean. Had back room which was quiet. Food and beers good.
Starting to get a bit tatty round the edges. Carpets on stairs and reception area very grubby. Parking can be difficult.
WiFi has been improved since my last visit. It worked seamlessly throughout the entire hotel, room, bar, restaurant - everywhere. Room was very comfortable and clean. The shower head was massive, so got a wonderfully hot complete shower. The Food was fantastic and the staff were very helpful and prompt. Will definitely be going here again!!
Could not fault the hotel during this stay at all.
2 members of staff good
1 boy behind the bar, waited 5 minutes to check in whilst he was on his phone, waited another 10 minutes to order a drink again busy not serving customers, had to ask for cutlery to eat our cheese plate with after sitting in front of it for 10 minutes, closed the bar at 10pm asked to leave the bar at 10.30 went up to the room where we were greeted with a lovely hair ball on the carpet (not mine) and a previous customers receipt in the guide from start of October.
Lovely character property, good food, great value
Shower had some mould around door
friendly staff you could have a drink at any time rooms comfortable fresh white towels the nooks and cranies that you could sit in and have a quite drink
1. Breakfast didn't start until 0800.As I had to leave at 0800 I missed breakfast. An 0730 start should not be unreasonable for a hotel that caters for leisure seekers who have early golf tee off times! 2. The fire doors at the top of the stairs were very squeaky/noisy.
Leaving before breakfast? They give you a great packed lunch.
friendly staff, cozy comfortable surroundings and good food
Free car park and wifi food served for dinner was expensive but well worth it good real ales served at the bar
Was not very close to Porthcawl town centre
Cost, location and quality (drink and food). Customer service is excellent.
Superb meal and great wine list all very reasonably priced.
This pub serves some of the best food in S Wales and the prices are very reasonable. The B & B is also good value.
Creaky doors and floors but can't be helped in a property of this age.
lovely olde world charm and friendly attentive staff.
Rear entry to rooms somewhat "tatty" Back of pub in need of a tidy and spruce up.
