Flexible breakfast times and well cooked breakfast.

Bathroom much too small. Sliding bathroom door did not close properly. Impossible to sit on toilet comfortably without opening door! Bedroom much too hot and could not leave window open because of noise from busy road outside. Signs everywhere with instructions about what one could/couldn't do - not very welcoming.

Just across the road from a selection of eating establishments for evening meal. Early breakfast time at 7am is standard; no special request needed to make an early start

Front rooms face on to A59 which seems to be brightly light at this point. Some heavier weight curtains would be good to block the incoming light which I found disturbing through the night. Traffic noise wasn't a problem

Fridge and microwave and fan were a very welcome bonus especially as my stay was on a very hot and humid night.

Location was great and the welcome was very warm. As a single lady traveller it was nice to have some home comforts rather than a sterile corporate hotel. Breakfast was also very enjoyable

Bathroom as bit cramped but adequate. Quite a bit of road noise but it didnt disturb me too much

People were friendly but not 'in your face' Breakfast was fine but no good if you need an early start 'cos 7am is when they start

The traffic noise was horrendous. Impossible to sleep. It could be reduced a bit by shutting the window but the room was so small that it then became unbearably stuffy. The room was also very hot, even with the window open. The mattress was very soft so if you have a dodgy back, you'll really feel it the following day.

Rose cottage was welcoming and friendly with all your needs taken care of, at a reasonable price. I will be using again.

I have nothing negative to say from this my first stay.

    The location of the property

The bed was not a double it was a three quarter bed, and was uncomfortable. The en suite was far too small, the only way you could sit on the toilet was with the door open, which was not nice for the person using it or the other person. The breakfast was lukewarm, and had been reheated in the microwave. It wasn't nice having stickers on things in the room saying they belonged to Rose Cottage and not to remove them.

Friendly reception, very comfortable room, spotlessly clean, with comprehensive faclities - including a corkscrew and wine glasses! Couple of good restaurants just across the road. Excellent breakfast.

The road outside started to get noisy rather earlier in the morning than we would have liked

Fridge and micro wave in room. Landlady was welcoming.

Main road, thin curtains, ensuite shower room (very small) , single bed (however was booked at short notice and only room left)

Our room was small but beautifully decorated. Added bonus of fridge and microwave. Hosts were friendly and welcoming. Couldn't find fault with anything and would stay there again.

Being able to take the dogs in. The helpfulness of the hosts. Off road parking. Very good breakfast.

My husband could not shut the door to the loo because there was no room for his legs. He ended up sitting sideways! The bedroom was a little cramped. Too much daylight through the curtains and blind.

Lovely, traditional English Bed and Breakfast. Clean, cosy and comfortable rooms, well cooked and generous breakfast. 2 restaurants just over the road, didn't try the Indian, but went into the Italian, it was really nice. Lots of interesting things to do in the area, we loved the Falconry Centre. We hoped to go on the Settle to Carlisle Railway but the day we planned to go it was cloudy, but that's a good reason to come and stay again. We would definitely recommend Rose Cottage. Thank you, Marje.

I really couldn't find any faults.
