This is such a little gem!
We stayed in Room 5. Beautifully decorated, thoroughly cleaned, a fabulous nights sleep and breakfast was exceptional (Compliments to the Chef!!). Daryl was very welcoming, as were the front house staff through to housekeeping.
You will not be disappointed when you stay here!

The property was perfect . The location is fantastic for access to the area as it’s central to Houghton-le-Spring. The property was so peaceful and relaxing and has everything you need for a comfortable stay . The property is tastefully decorated and furnished and had a lovely homely feel. The host was fantastic and did everything she could to help make my stay run smoothly. Great communication ! I will definitely be booking the property again on my next visit to see family . It’s perfect.

A fresh, modern hotel with a welcoming reception area and friendly, helpful staff.
Our room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely view onto Keel Square and great access to bars and restaurants within meters of the front door. The perfect location for anybody with tickets to a show at The Fire Station (3 min walk).
Great onsite bar, perfect for a nightcap with a snack menu being served until late.
The breakfast was very tasty, with lots to choose from and everything was replenished quickly.
We knew abought Houghton le Spring already. We needed to be in Stanley, Durham, and East & West Rainton so hotel was ideally situated.
We used the in-house Restaurants & Bar on 3 nights and the Italian Restaurant across the road ! night..
There are bus routes outside the Hotel - I believe maximum fare of £2.00.

Very central for Durham City and surrounding areas.
Very central for Durham City and surrounding areas. Large free car park which was easy to manouvere. Hotel was lovely, rooms were large and well stocked with toileteries, hairdryer, iron on request which was brought swiftly to our room. The adjoining bar was well stocked with lots of different beers/lagers, wines etc. Food was available in either the bar or the Thai Resturant. Staff are very friendly very helpful, nothing was any trouble to them. Would not hesitate to return.

Set by the side of a busy country road in beautiful countryside close to the A1(M). Fabulous beer garden, plenty of parking and large restaurant.
We stayed in a beautifully appointed room but unfortunately this was at the front of the hotel and the traffic was busy. To be fair, if we hadn't needed the window open so wide due to the warm evening then this would not have been a problem to us.

Now 53, I lived in Houghton le Spring for the first 22 years of my life, with many family and friends still living there. I can honestly say there is nothing for anyone in Houghton unless you are visiting friends or family. It's difficult to sum up a place in a few words, but with the single ATM in the town centre not working when we were there, most food outlets having a hand-scribbled note on the windows reading "Cash Only", and all closed shops on a night feeling the need to have steel shutters, sums it up for me. There are still lots of lovely people living in the town, but I really couldn't recommend it to anyone that doesn't NEED to visit!

It's a little gem of a hotel, not only was our room beautifully presented, extremely comfortable and very clean, but also the dining room perfectly matched the great food. An added bonus was found in the public bar which was like stepping back in time. But the real plus was the staff, from the housekeeping ladies, to the restaurant staff all were fantastic, but a big thank you must go to Louise for her attention to detail and all our needs. Definitely going back sometime in 2023.
The restaurant attached to the hotel is amazing...we came 2 years ago for a mini honeymoon and loved it then too...its reasonably priced per room, this time we stayed in the executive suite and feel it was much cosier then the honeymoon suite we stayed in last time...staff were all very friendly and the service fantastic...we will be back
A really great hotel, the staff are very welcoming! It has a lovely bar if you'd like to wind down for a bit. Our room was immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. It was perfectly situated for our needs. I have to say that staff went above and beyond for us, they even used their own transport to take us to our venue! 5⭐️
Really big bed that was comfortable. Pillows that were more solid than the standard hotel pillow!
Powerful shower with lots of hot water.
On-site restaurant has great food, and fairly speedy room service delivery.
I would return, and I would recommend.
This is a very good hotel and superb value for money, way, way better than other travel chain type hotels that would be considered as there competitors. Very good Thai restaurant too which was a very pleasant surprise and delicious.
Staff where fabulous. Charlie on reception, was very helpful. I had a problem with my booking, I thought I had booked direct with the hotel. Not through booking.com. So I had to pay a bit more than I excpected.
